The actor met his future wife Nicole Lampson while his mom was teaching a developmental psychology class. “I came to drop off some papers for my mom’s class and she introduced me to the class and I ended up staying for a little bit,” he recalls. “I ended up sitting next to this girl named Nikki, who I thought was really special, and I asked my mom, ‘Who’s that Nikki girl?’” They tied the knot in 2012. Here's the happy couple at the Emmy nominee reception in April.
The couple's son Ford Robert was born on May 6, 2016. Clifton described his son as, "Quiet, curious, and beautiful like his mother [Nicole].”
