Darin Brooks (Wyatt, B&B)
“The solar shower in the woods. That water was supposed to be warm and it wasn’t! It was a rough scene to do and that flesh-colored diaper you’ve got to wear is the bane of my existence. I hate that thing [laughs].”
Lynn Herring (Lucy, GH)
“Several come to mind that were hard for different reasons. When Lee Mathis [ex-Jon Hanley] passed away, Lucy had to make the announcement at the Nurses’ Ball that Jon had died. Having to say the words that were so real when my heart was just raw with memories, that nearly did me in. When I was on PORT CHARLES, Thorsten’s [Kaye, ex-Ian; Ridge, B&B, pictured] dad passed away and he found out the morning we were doing the scene of the vampires in the cave, where he had to be the powerful vampire and I’m the slayer. Watching him be so strong at such a difficult moment was very emotional for the whole cast and crew. And then shooting our first scene back after 9/11 at PORT CHARLES. Everybody was hugging and crying, and my scenes were up first. It was really hard to go to work that day and do make-believe.”
Camryn Grimes (Mariah, Y&R)
“That would be Cassie’s death scene [in 2005, with Sharon Case, Sharon, and Joshua Morrow, Nick], and even the scenes before that. It was hard because I knew I was also saying good-bye to everyone on the show.”
Camila Banus (Gabi, DAYS)
“The hardest scene I ever had to shoot was a nightmare/fantasy flashback. Gabi had it after she thought Nick had drowned. In the nightmare, Nick took Gabi to the river and he threw her in. When Gabi asked for his help, he pushed her under the water. It was the first time I had ever done a stunt in water. I even pulled the emergency stop sign, but because there were so many bubbles around my mouth from the water, they couldn’t see it. I remember it being a really difficult technical scene that I had never been part of before.”
Amelia Heinle (Victoria, Y&R)
“When Victoria [with Sean Carrigan, Stitch, far l., and Burgess Jenkins, ex-Billy] gave birth to Katie in the parking garage, I found it very difficult because the script called for Victoria to be very loud, as in screaming, while giving birth. That was the extreme opposite of my
own experience when I gave birth
to my own three children, which
was very quiet.”
