Two DAYS castmates just happened to be together the first time they were approached by a fan, Alison Sweeney (Sami) recalled: “Bryan [R. Dattilo, Lucas] and I went to my prom together when we were first on the show. That was the first time either of us was recognized, by someone who worked at the restaurant [we went to pre-prom]. We were totally excited signing autographs for her. It was cool to experience it together, too.”
If you’re seeking a selfie with John McCook (Eric, B&B), remember he has an off-camera wardrobe. “People will probably be surprised that I don’t dress anything like my character. I wear suits all the time when I’m at work as Eric, so the last thing I want to do is wear a tie. I’m usually in jeans and in need of a shave."
Greg Vaughan (Lucky, GH) met his first fan after his run as Y&R’s Diego was over. “I went into a Burger King in the airport. There was an elderly lady working. I was like, ‘Can I get a couple of those croissant-muffin things? She was like, ‘Yeah…. Oh, my God! You’re the guy on YOUNG and RESTLESS!’ She ran around the corner in like three seconds. She didn’t come up to just give me a hug, she tackled me [laughs]. Everything I had in my arms dropped because I was trying to hug her back. She was the happiest person, I was overwhelmed.”
Deidre Hall (Marlena, DAYS) made a fan’s milestone even more special. After exchanging letters over a period of months, the fan asked if the star would make a birthday visit. “So, I got on a plane and flew to Chester, Pennsylvania for his 98th birthday.”
“A woman wrote me a letter that said we all looked like our hair was cut with a cheese grater,” recalls Melissa Reeves (Jennifer, DAYS, pictured with husband Scott Reeves and a fan.). "Then at the end, it said, ‘Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.’ ”
