I don't want to sound like a fashion snob, but while watching Phyllis on Y&R today, I couldn't help but think how behind the times she is. Especially for
someone who is running a fashion magazine! She's been hearing
a lot about bamboo fabrics? Hellooo, bamboo fabrics have been around for
years, and a fashion magazine owner certainly shouldn't just be hearing
about them!

Though I wasn't particularly interested in Frankie and Randi when they first
met, I have to say that I've grown attached to them. Frankie telling Randi
he was falling in love with her was adorable, and I'm really hoping they get
a chance to explore their relationship.

Another day, another frustrating episode of B&B. I am normally a supporter
of Donna, but suspecting Stephanie of murdering Eric? Come on, she's smarter than that. Now if Donna was the target, Stephanie would be one of the first people I would suspect. But accusing her of trying to kill Eric? I think it will only serve to make Donna look guilty, trying desperately to find someone to point a finger at.

I just finished watching AMC and I can't believe what a joke they've made Erica. As if the prison stuff weren't bad enough, now we have to watch cheesy scenes in which Erica pampers herself? The one highlight was that Erica not only mentioned her long-lost daughter Bianca, but she even gave her a call. It's nice to know someone on the AMC writing staff hasn’t forgotten she exists!

I loved Krystal and Adam's scenes together today. I am more than ready for
them to get back together. The only thing that could have made the scenes
better was a kiss. Sadly, Krystal ran off before Adam could lay one on her!

Watching AMC today, I found myself really feeling bad for Annie. I know Ryan doesn't remember loving her, and I realize Greenlee is his friend, but I really think he owed it to Annie to be with her at the hospital. Of course he should have stopped to help Greenlee when she was stranded on the side of the road, but once they got to the hospital, Ryan should have been with Annie, who just lost a close friend. Instead he was playing Greenlee's chauffeur and left Annie alone at the hospital. Couldn't Jack have driven her home? He is her father after all.

I just got off the phone with Michael Knight (Tad, AMC), and let me tell you, there is lots to look forward to coming up on AMC. Airing soon will be
their attempt at some computer generated scenes, just like GH did for the TMK storyline. I'm hoping it's just as good!

I was just on a conference call with DeAnna Pappas, the new Bachelorette (airing next Monday, May 19th), and I have to say I have a good feeling about this one. I am a total BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE junkie, so I'm well aware of the poor track record, but when I tell you I could practically feel her beaming through the phone I am not exaggerating. So I've got my fingers crossed that DeAnna found love this time (she certainly deserves it after being bulldozed by Brad Womack).

Watching ALL MY CHILDREN today, I suddenly realized how much we had been missing all these years with Opal so rarely gracing our screens. Whether she is with Richie or Adam, I am thoroughly enjoying her scenes. As Opal said of her psychic abilities, "It is not something that one 'practices,' Adam. It is a God-given gift you are born with," her ability to make us laugh is most definitely a gift too.

I just hung up with Ambyr Childers, who is departing the role of Colby Chandler on AMC. Our conversation left me wondering what to expect from the nuColby. Ambyr says that are maturing the character, but exactly how much
remains to be seen. I think this could lead to an interesting relationship
between Colby and Frankie (certainly a more age appropriate one), but how
exactly will they make the distinction between Colby and JR's ages? The
aging of characters has always been an interesting soap subject to me, and I eagerly await Brianne Moncrief's first air date (May 7th) to see how it will all play out.

I just finished writing up a Closer Look with Cady McClain (check it out in our April 29th issue), and I have to say I'm so excited for her return. Granted, it would be nice if Dixie was coming back alive, but right now I'm just happy they will finally be tying up with Kate storyline. The return of Angie and Jesse has really left me wanting more blasts from the past, and this is definitely moving in the right direction!
Julie, I'm going to miss Ambyr. Her Colby really grew on me and I loved her work with David Canary and Jacob Young. I also thought she had a nice vibe going with the actor who plays Frankie. I wish her the best. I also want to add how much I've been enjoying your editorials in SOW. I think you're very spot on in many of the things you say and unlike some other people, I don't feel you have a bias against any actor or character.
Thanks Julie, I've been looking all over this site for an answer for what happened to Ambyr. I really had grown to like her and this nuColby will have much work to do. But really, she doesn't look that much older so I'm confused. Oh, and yeah I'm way backed on my DVR which is why the search for this answer is over a month and a half late. :)
