While catching up on this week's DIRTY SEXY MONEY (which presumably was Daniel Cosgrove's last as Freddy, the money-grubbing golf pro and fourth ex-husband of Karen Darling), I couldn't help but be delighted about how lucky we are to have him back on daytime as GL's Bill. I remember when he joined GL in 2002 — it was around the same time they were looking for a new Chris Hughes on ATWT and as the editor who covers that show, I was annoyed that ATWT hadn't snagged Cosgrove for the part (they ended up going with Alan White and then, a few months later, Bailey Chase; now Chris is played by a much-younger Dylan Bruce). This week, his return to GL was all anyone could talk about in our offices at around 10 every morning, starting with that first teasing torso shot. But it's not only that he's cute — Cosgrove just slid right back into the role, with such charm and ease that I wouldn't mind seeing him every single day (for the first few months, at least), even if Bill has suffered through some character-darkening times. Right now, with apologies to the rest of the fine cast, he's the best reason to watch GL.
