On PASSIONS, I've really enjoyed watching Tabitha return to her "evil" roots, as she's used her powers to mess with Luis and Fancy, Paloma and Noah and Theresa. Seeing the witch don her fortune teller's disguise (so she could advise Theresa about thwarting Gwen) made me nostalgic for one of the earliest episodes of the show when Theresa asked the "psychic" about her future as a Crane. Only back then, we weren't exactly sure why Tabitha wanted to hurt people, other than the fact that she was a witch. However, this time around, it's personal since she wants to get back Endora from the Dark Side. That said, we can always count on some fun in the witch scenes (portrayer Juliet Mills still gives the character her all), but now we feel for Tabby, too. Who wouldn't root for a mother to get her child back — even if there are some dangerous spells involved?

At the recent Super Soap Weekend, Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL) told fans that she has a soft spot in her heart for Viki's romance with Ben but has a good feeling about new guy Charlie. Well, we do, too, perhaps because Charlie has a bit of that "everyman" appeal, as well as a sense of humor (he took her to a drive-in movie where they made up their own dialogue!). Ben and Viki met in a bar; she and Charlie met in a diner. Ben harbored a secret past (he was a hit man and the long-lost son of Asa Buchanan), while Charlie seems to have a few secrets of his own. It also helps that portrayer Brian Kerwin has that rugged charm that has attracted Viki in the past, so Viki/Charlie is looking like a winning combination. And even if Viki's not ready for love, getting back into the dating scene is a good start!
