All hail the return of the (would-be) king, Edmund, to GUIDING LIGHT's Springfield in the noble form of David Andrew Macdonald. Sure, Edmund came back to America clad in an orange prison jumpsuit rather than a crown, but Macdonald was truly king for a day (today). When told that Josh Lewis was replacing Rev. Ruthledge, Edmund laughed out loud (you know, just like we viewers). Edmund's powers of manipulation were undiluted by his years behind bars in what appeared to be a dank San Cristobel parking garage. Macdonald smirked devilishly as Edmund cut Cassie to the quick by mentioning happy times with Tammy. The royal pain apologized for doing "unspeakable things," but insisted he merely "tried too hard to love you." He jousted with Cassie over marrying Josh, but touched her heart when he managed to compel young Will to speak by talking the child into attending school. "Thank you," gushed the astounded mom. No, GL, thank you for bringing back David Andrew Macdonald.
