IN OUR OPINION

Beth Ehlers (Harley, GH)
— CBS

November 2, 2007

From Danielle McClure
I suppose that Harley's experiencing some serious post-Griggs/kidnapping/church explosion shock, but she could've been a tad more upset when she suddenly discovered those marriage annulment papers in Gus's coat! She didn't even shed a tear! At the very least, the whole gravity of her situation should've been enough to summon some sniffles. Instead, she just rested her head on Gus's shoulder then said she'd think it over. Sure, she looked distressed and they did share a tender moment of closure (sort of), but after all "Gush" has been through these past couple of months, I was hoping for more of a serious sob fest. I guess she's just all cried out.

Shelley Hennig (Stephanie, DAYS)
— NBC

From Stephanie Sloane
DAYS has a wealth of talent in its younger cast — Rachel Melvin (Chelsea), Darin Brooks (Max), Blake Berris (Nick) and Shelley Hennig (Stephanie) — so why is the screen overrun with day players in the front-burner sorority story? It's hard to care about newbies Cordy, Morgan and Ashley and serial rapist Ford or Cordy's rape for that matter when the actors who should be featured are playing second fiddle to a slew of unknowns. Didn't the show learn its lesson with the Touch the Sky debacle? And is it really that hard to find a way to spotlight their stars of the future?
