Meanwhile, calling a boat the True Love has been unoriginal since at least 1940, when Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn talked about their honeymoon vessel, True Love, in The Philadelphia Story. (An awesome movie, by the way, if you've never seen it.) Why not just acknowledge that with a wistful "My, she was yar" comment, laden with double meaning about the relationship? (I forgave DAWSON'S CREEK for the now-clumsy boat-as-romantic-metaphor usage, of course, because after Pacey restored the True Love on that show, he and Joey sailed off together at the end of the most fabulous finale of the most fabulous season ever.) On the plus side, Michael Park (Jack) and Maura West (Carly) look 1,000 times better now, a full decade later, than they did in those flashbacks from their first meeting — even as they were awkwardly drifting Heart Of Darkness-style through the lily pads of Raven Lake, er, sorry, some body of water in "Montana."
