I love it when soaps take the time to get to know their subjects. Y&R's Heather and Colleen discovered they are both former New Yorkers and bonded over Big Apple culinary delights, citing Gray's Papaya as the best hot dog. (And it sure is, especially after a long night on the town.) Contrast this to the OLTL newly-created flashback a few weeks ago where Atlantic City "bartender" Jared mixed a martini for Tess that involved barely a shake, much sloshing about and nary an olive or twist as garnish. Quelle horror! I'm not looking for Tom Cruise in Cocktail, but come on. Full disclosure, I rarely pay the least bit of attention to Colleen (in any incarnation) and have even less interest in Heather, but that one little moment of realness made me look up from my keyboard, so maybe they should just stick with regional food chatter. Philly cheesesteaks, anyone?
