Hunt Block (Ramsey, OLTL)
— ABC
|
From Joe Diliberto
Since I usually work the AS THE WORLD TURNS universe, I don't often get to watch ONE LIFE TO LIVE, but my colleague Gabby urged me to tune in, so I decided to give it a chance today. Immediately, I was thrilled to see
Hunt Block (who will always be AS THE WORLD TURNS' Craig to me — sorry, Scott Bryce) playing FBI Special Agent Ramsey, who was searching for runaway mom Marcie and her adopted/kidnapped kid. (OLTL hired a guy named Hunt to play a manhunter, get it?) Unfortunately, Ramsey somehow
let petite Gigi get the drop on him, then could not manage to run down
Marcie, who was carrying a child. Meanwhile, ex-cop John was working the same case from the other end, questioning Mo in his kitchen.
Unfortunately, it was clear that John used to be a cop, not a health
inspector. While jabbering, he was manhandling a basket of peppers — and who knows where those hands have been. Doesn't John realize people have to eat those things? Any soap fan worth his or her salt is used to guilty parties slithering out of any actual punishment, but OLTL took that conceit to new heights as Addie, RJ and Bo lined up to volunteer to assume guardianship of Lindsay as if they were adopting a kitten. Lindsay seemed less than enthusiastic, so the judge remanded her to St. Ann's until pending a ruling. Here's hoping the judge, in her wisdom, doesn't decide to cut Lindsay into pieces for everyone to share. The episode wrapped with Ramsey pulling out an old .38 snub-nose revolver (What, no modern Glock? Not
even a Sig or a Walther?) and starts waving it at civilians (including a
child!) — so of course it goes off. It's a sad state when the lone voice of authority who gets any respect on OLTL is a diner cook.
