I loved the impromptu memorial Shayne held for Edmund today. Hearing Reva, Josh, Olivia, Dinah and Jeffrey make a "toast" to the dark prince by listing all his dastardly deeds through the years was funny and a very fitting farewell for the man who spent his time in Springfield (and San Cristobel) basically torturing everyone around him. On Y&R, why do the writers insist on mucking up Kevin's thoroughly-entertaining mental breakdown with his delusions of different people wearing that ridiculous chipmunk mask? Every time the huge rodent head shows up, I wanna scream, "Alvin!" MORE

I am absolutely loving Jon Lindstrom as ATWT's Craig. He brings dry humor and vulnerability to the role, despite the fact that Craig is a villain, Lindstrom plays him as if he's simply misunderstood. MORE

I braved the bitter cold, and high heels, on Friday night to attend a shindig for ATWT's Terri Colombino (Katie), Austin Peck (Brad), Ewa Da Cruz (Vienna) and Dylan Bruce (ex-Chris). MORE

It's been a while since I blogged; my apologies. Where to start? Between the Mets, MAD MEN, and MSNBC for political stuff, there's been a lot of nighttime TV viewing lately. Still crazy about OLTL, too. It appears the 1968 stuff has wrapped up. MORE

The twistedness of the whole Phillip III storyline on YOUNG AND RESTLESS is so crazy and complex that it's hard to follow who's who and what's what. Is the real Phillip dead? MORE

I don't want to sound like a fashion snob, but while watching Phyllis on Y&R today, I couldn't help but think how behind the times she is. Especially for someone who is running a fashion magazine! MORE

Oh, yes it's Ladies' Night! And the feelin's right. Oh, yes it's Ladies' Night ... in Springfield! I loved the twist that Doris is a lesbian on today's GUIDING LIGHT. MORE

B&B's PRICE IS RIGHT scenes were truly priceless, weren't they? I loved the inside wink when Donna got the call to "Come on down" instead of rabid fan Pam, then had to guess the pricing order of dog food, lemon bars and honey, three items Pam knows all too well. MORE

Oh, GH. What AM I going to do with you? You give me the awesomeness of Coleman and then the ick of Ethan manhandling Rebecca. What's next, he rapes her on a dance floor just like his hero, daddy Luke? MORE

YouTube has made our lives here at the Digest a lot easier — there's no more reliable way of fact-checking than going straight to the source, and with such a wide array of vintage clips available online, we frequently luck out and find the very scene readers have a question about or that we want to describe accurately in something we're writing. If you're here reading my blog, it's probably safe to say that you are an Internet junkie. If your net junkie-ness, for lack of a better word, is soap specific, by now I hope you've had the chance to become pretty familiar with soapoperaweekly.com. MORE

Adam's gaslighting of Ashley on Y&R is creepy and riveting. However, I have one rather large issue with the storyline: I don't understand Adam's motivations for wanting to hurt Ashley. MORE

As I join the rest of the world in mourning the deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson (Yes, I had the poster on my boyhood wall and yes, my friends and I shook whatever we had at the time to "Off The Wall" at the Egan dances), I'm focusing my grief on the soap world, specifically the loss of GH's Ric. I almost don't know what to write about this week's harrowing episode of RESCUE ME, which left me totally shaken. The tone of the show whipsawed wildly from sweetly zany to gruesome to blackly comic to sad to sentimental. Watching it was like enduring an emotional pummeling. MORE
