THESE ARE NOT SUPPORTING ACTORS - THEY ARE LEADS!!!!!!!!
Glad to see both of my CBS shows nominated for Outstanding Drama Series
On Supporting Lead Actress....congrats to Susan Flannery and with hopes she wins it. Both the lung cancer and the showing the plight of the homeless (extra kudos on the show for taping right on the street in LA's Skid Row) did a great job of showcasing this often under-utilized wonderful actress.
But Michelle Stafford? AGAIN??? She's wonderful, but it's time to take a year off. Same goes for the talented and hilarious Christian LeBlanc. Please give it a rest and come back when You have super-sensational nomination material.
Amelia Heinle, where are you in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category? Did you miss the deadline? Billy Miller got it right--and hopefully wins. The pairing of Billy and Victoria has been nothing short of sensational. From the Jamacian wedding that wasn't, to staying in Murphy's trailer, the unfinished tattoo of "I Love Victor" (great material for everyone to have fun with), the 1950's house with all the trimmings and the real wedding with officiating judge Eleanor Donohue, Billy and Victoria are a breath of soap opera supercouple fresh air.
And Scott Clifton in the Outstanding Younger Actor category? If he doesn't take it there is a another wrong in the world that will eventually need to be righted. The mix of sweet and sexy and cute? I hope he gets to go back to Hope soon. Calling Carl Ferret! And where is Kim Matula in the Outstanding Younger Actress Category? The category looks thin and two of the three actresses nominated are "ex".
Thanks for reading!
Love Scott Clifton, but Chad Duell has done an absolutely fantastic job this year! Scott is an amazing actor but his storyline has been ridiculous to say the least. B&B needs to use him more wisely. They make his character seem so weak. The only backbone that Liam has shown was to standup to Bill...finally, about Hope.
Michael Corinthos, Jr., on the other hand, has had an excellent storyline. Even though he is as ridiculously stubborn and hotheaded as Sonny and Carly, he is just an amazing loyalist to his family and friends, also like his parents. GH has let his character show his strength and his vulnerabilities. Chad has played it brilliantly!!!
Why is it Day's is alwasy being snubbed on these awards. This is one of the better soaps on & yet each year they are passed over. Explain that one.
Guess next year DOOL will finally get some nominations because there will only be 4 soaps left. DOOL, Y&R, B&B and GH. I agree with myzigiman... DOOL has so many good actors and they never get nominated. Sami, Maggie, Victor, Stephano, Rafe, EJ, Daniel, Melanie and of course Nicole. Chloe can't act worth *hit as her facial expressions & voice never changes. A tear doesn't count as acting. Most of the teens can't act either but they have to be given air time. Hope they don't just put more actors up for nomination for the same CBS & ABC shows though. Once AMC is off the air I'm just left with DOOL & GH and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that GH will survive ABC's daytime cuts. When 'tptb' say the ratings are down do they take into consideration that many folks record the shows to view later? I have TiVo and record them every day even if I'm watching it 'live'. Just so I can rw to catch something I might have missed or to 'freeze' a shot to read something the character is reading. Won't be watching the 'Chew' or any other new daytime shows for sure. To many 'talk shows' as it is during the day. The networks can't just shove new shows down our throats and expect former followers to just watch them. Won't happen in this household I can promise you.
I don't watch Days but I totally agree! ABC will be very sorry for canceling AMC and OLTL. I also dvr my soaps everyday, even while I watch. Soapnet should continue the shows! That would be awesome. I'm guessing it isn't in their budget though.
I am totally disappointed that year after year Days is snubbed in regards to the show getting nominated and many times the lead actors. The show has had some really good storylines and they have just as many great actors as the other shows that are nominated every year! Arianne Zucker and Alison Sweeney have done a wonderful job over this past year and yet they were both looked over again by the industry. Shame on you for holding a grudge against NBC!
