On the set of his successful musical, Sessions, Robert Newman spoke with Soap Opera Weekly's Marc Wilkofsky about portraying Josh during the last week — and final scenes — of GUIDING LIGHT, and bringing life to his current role of Dr. Peter Peterson. The Manhattan therapist leads a lively group of diverse people who are unified in at least one major way: They all have problems. Just like Josh often found it easier to play the hero for his friends (and Reva, who hit Springfield in 1983) than to handle his own issues, Peter takes solace in helping his clients, amid laughs, tears and lots of engaging music.
