I wished he'd show more video that was cut due to lack of airtime. The video from past episodes of GL brought back a lot of memories. Particularly the ones from the following: Roger Thorpe raping his wife Holly Thorpe; Reva Lewis baptizing herself the "Slut of Springfield"; Maureen Bauer's anguish of Ed Bauer's supposed affair with Lillian Raines---just shortly before her untimely death (GL's biggest mistake); Bert Bauer going over to see Josh Lewis in a wheelchair just after she had her leg amputated giving him words of encouragement; the short montage of the late Beverlee McKinsey as Alexandra Spaulding (still loved her voicing the downfall of her husband Roger Thorpe); H.B. Lewis in montage portrait; and the most memorable weddings---Josh and Reva Lewis at Cross Creek; Quint and Nola Reardon Chamberlain in a balloon ride and last but not least, Princess Cassie and Prince Richard Winslow at San Cristobel! Thank you Guiding Light for the wonderful memories. I can't wait to

Am I ever going to stop crying?

Losing Guiding Light is like losing a family member. It truly breaks my heart. I have this show since I was a child. My mother got me hooked. Now, after so many true life storylines, so many lovable characters, and a life time of memories, it is being taken away. I can not believe a show like Bold and Beautiful, which is about Ridge going back and forth between Brooke and Taylor, and about how their families hate each other is going to continue. But our beloved Guiding Light is not. I wish the cast, crew and everyone who has ever been connected with this show the best the future could hold, and all the love they deserve. You may not be on our tv screens, but you will always be in our hearts.

Guiding Light will always be a precious memory. I remember how my mother and Aunt sobbed when Mama Bauer died. And how it touched me when Meta's child Chuckie was taken away from her. My heart broke right with that character. Remember Kevin Bacon as a teen alcoholic? And when Phillip found out who his real parents were? I think this show died due to faulty and unimaginative writing. Look to the old story lines to see how something other than sex held our interest!!! I will not keep my TV on during this time slot for a game show. C'mon.... who is kidding who?

I loved this show from the time my mom got me hooked. The episode today was heartrenching when Phillip finally told his family that he's dying.

Okay - I'm done with ATWT and Holden's latest dead but not dead story - how many times can you play that one? And James! He died and left his fortune to Paul; he died and left his fortune to Dusty; now he's alive again and shopping around his fortune! How many fortunes does the man have??? Not watching anymore. Y&R - Victor has done some abominal things in the past (Julia); but this latest with Mary Jane/Patty Williams - if he doesn't finally pay for all his machinations, I wont be watching this one either!!

It makes me so sad that Guiding Light is going off the air. I have been watching since I was a little girl with my mother who is no longer here on earth. I used to watch Y&R, not anymore, boring. I will really miss all the characters/actors, story lines and think they gave up to easily. Today's episode made me cry for the show and reminded me of my mother who just "loved" this show and watched it faithfully.

I love the Guiding Light, I watch DOOL ATWT but GL was the best!! Its very sad to see this show go with out the treatment that it gave us. This show has been on the air for so many years and the longest show to ever last in the TV history,I feel like CBS showed it very little respect. Y not give it a half hr?? The daytime awards was so lame they also could have showed a little more Respect. GL had thee best cast in daytime drama, I wonder what really happen to this show, Was the money not handled right? Why did the ratings go down? Why not give the show half hr? Why not change the time of the show? So many things, but GL Light is almost out and DOOL will be the only show that I will watch, still nothing like GL. GL I love u guys so much, What u have done no other show daytime will ever do. A little more respect needs to be shown to GL!! Love Bye

I am truly at a loss for words when it comes to the conclusion of GL....and I am not one to have a loss for words EVER.....I am closing on 50 yrs old and I can remember watching this show with my UBBA (grandmother) when I was just a youngster, and then with my MOM for years and years and more years.....I feel like a part of my everyday life is going to be missing....of all shows to remove from the air why GL??? It seems to me the stories on there could continue for another life time....Bottom line: I will so miss GL...my favorite soap of all time !!!

The ending of GL is truly gut wrenching and I don't understand how it can be cancelled & other soaps go on. It has been a part of my life for 41 years. Even my children's. It's like a death in the family. And I was always so proud GL didn't succumb to the riff raff story lines of the other soaps. There was a moral base that was honored. People who slept around usually paid for it, original actors came back after being gone for years, Bill Bauer, Ed Bauer, Philip, Mindy and real life story lines. I wish everyone the very best and will miss you all terribly. Are there any plans for DVD's? Love to all.

As a lifelong watcher of soap operas, I have seen all too many come to an end. None have left me with such a sense of familial grief as The Guiding Light. Thank you for the 50 plus years (of my life) of drama, love, laughter, sadness, sorrow, frustration and community familial love. The beacon lives on. Your memories endure. With eternal gratitude.

When the "Light" goes out, so do I. I will no longer watch anything in that spot. I have watched Guiding Light since 1954. It was part of my day. I looked forward to my afternoon break. I am switching over to The Dish Network and watching the "Little House on the Prairie" and Touched by an Angel. Everything changed when you started shooting every scene outside (rain or snow). We will all miss the Bouer, the Spaulding's and the Cooper family. Sorry CBS didn't feel they were important enough to keep around anymore.

I cannot believe the Guilding light is ending. i have such fond momories of watching with my grandmother and my mom ever since I was a little girl. I am 42 yeard olk so that tells you how long I have been watching. I will miss my GL fix at 2:00 every day!

I still can't believe Guiding Light won't be there when I get out of class. All of the CBS soaps have been my faves since I was thirteen years old and my grandmother got me hooked on them. Now that I've moved away, we talk about them over the phone. It's sad that we'll now have one less thing to talk about. I wish it didn't have to end! Even my little brother got into GL through Richard storming the castle to get rid of Edmund. Those were the days! I'll never forget GL and the great memories I have attached to the show. Good luck to all of the actors and staff!

I cannot believe that you are replacing the GL with a game show...HA! Not to mention in my area I will be forced to watch yet another blowhard talk show host...NOT HAPPENING! I have watched the GL for as long as I can remember and my daughter calls me for the latest news when she has to miss it. This has been the only show that I can remember for the entire time that I have been alive. CBS you are making a grave mistake by taking this off the air. How you ever stopped to think what your loyal viewers would think??? My guess...NOT! You have really let us all down this time. You would rather keep a show on the air that runs in circles like the B&B. How many times can the same ppl marry, divorce, fight w/ someone over them, just to remarry after causing years of anguish to one another. It is ok to cheat...I will take you back, "someday". I will miss GL and the entire cast that I have talked about like family. GOG BLESS THE ENTIRE CAST FOR THEIR YEARS OF LOYALTY! CBS u will never find them

So sad to see GL go. It was the best of the soaps. Wish they hadnt gone to the weird camera angles of the last year but still love it and the characters. Wish CBS would change their mind and save it after all.

I really hate to see GL go off. I really love to watch Josh and Reva. They made the show. And I loved looking at Josh, he is so handsome. I taped the show and watched it when I got home from work, so now what will I do at 10:00? I will miss the show.

Now that CBS has shown the bad judgement in ending my favorite Guiding Light,I will no longer have any CBS soaps to watch as they have all gotten ridiculous. Good luck to all the great actors on GL - I'm on to ABC for General Hospital.

What was CBS thing when they cancelled GL? I used to listen to this show on the radio and I remember Mama Bauer, Bert, and Grandpa Bauer. Then the great stories with Roger & Holly, Reva & Josh and all th e others that brightened my day so much. I will miss this show so much. CBS seems to have someone working on chows there and setting them in time slots and the shows are terrible. And putting Let's Make A Deal in GL's spot! Idiots! Since they cancelled Touched by an Angel I've been having a harder time finding things to watch on CBS and at noe time I never watched another station. Good Bye CBS!

To the ENTIRE cast & crew of Guiding Light - Thank you for SOOOO many memories! I am truly saddened that the Light is going dark. I have watched this show for 20+ years and enjoyed every minute of it! I'm hoping that I will be able to buy seasons of "Guiding Light" on DVD in the near future! I would GLADLY watch from the beginning to the end again! As for the new "filler" show "Let's Make A Deal"? Well....the only deal I would be interested in is hearing that some other network smartly picked "Guiding Light" up & we would be able to watch it there. As for what I will do with this "extra" hour in my day - sure wont be watching any other the other "shows"!! Thank you again for everything! I wish each & every one of you the best!! You are all truly amazing & talented! Thank you!!

I saw the end coming years ago when GL was moved to 10 am, and when the new format took place it was just a matter of time but we die hard fans are staying to the end. I've been watching for 33 years and can't imagine what it's going to be like without GL. Beth & Phillip running away to NY, Nola and Vanessa wearing the same gown and long gone characters Lujak, Alan Michael, Kelly, Roger, Nola & Quinton. This was my escape my constant, Kim Zimmer will always be Reva to me. Shame on you CBS for allowing this to happen, GL is TV, no other show can make it's claim, even a 1/2 hr is better than none. CBS has lost it's daytime viewer, the other stink. Hey Soapnet rerun the episodes you have 55 years of footage. I won't mind reliving those memories. GL was my escape, my constant, my friend. To Reva, Josh, Phillipe, Beth, Rick, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Billy, Vanessa, Alan, Buzz, Lillian, Frank and the rest of the Spaudings, Reardons, Coopers, Lewis' & Beauers. Love you all, Goodbye.

I am so sad I have watched GL for 30yrs or more I remember Roger, Holly and Ed as Roger fell off the cliff, Alan & hope falling in love, Kelly & Morgan, Nole all the good memories I will keep with me forever I will not be watching CBS any more for anything any show daytime or night time and that a lot of shows some I even like but when you disrespect a show with this much history (72 yrs worth), you are a pack of dogs to me not to even give them a speical show to say goodbye, to Kim Zimmer, I love you you are hands down the daytime Queen, I will miss but I do have the last 50 epd. on tape I have used all my DVR time do do this so I can see you again and agin, I love all you guys, Goodbye.

I am saddened by the ending of such a great show. I have watched this almost my whole life and none of the others can hold a candel to this show. When they changed the time that was almost the end of GL.I think in the last year they got back on track and now they go end the best show. Please send this show to the soap network. So many talented acors came out of this show so don't let us lose our memories of all of the talent that we so loved. To the cast ,you all are so talented I have enjoyed all of your works.Kim Z., Robert N.,Micheal O ,and Grant A. you all have been such a joy to watch all of these years. Best of luck and know that you all have so much more to offer.Thank you.

Iwill miss Guiding Light when it goes off the air this week. I have been watching the show since the early eighties when I got hooked watching with my Grandma. I will miss all the characters that I have grown to love like family. The Bauers, Lewises, Spaulings, Coopers have become like family to me and I will miss them when they are gone. It's sad that a show so rich in history has been cancelled. It just goes to show that nothing is sacred anymore and all the networks care about is ratings. I will never forget ALL the hours of enjoyment that Guiding Light has given me.

I have been watching guiding light every since I was a child my mom and step mom both watched it everyday. We use to set the vcr up to record our show before they came out with dvrs, just so we would not miss an episode. I just dont even want to believe that they are taking it off the air, It makes me feel like they are taking alot of my family away from me. I think they should of had a vote and asked us fans what show we thought they should take off the air for example bold and beautiful should of when first in my eyes. Im going to miss watching Guiding Light and I hope to see the actors and actresses on some of the other CBS soaps. This week has been sad so far and I just dont want it to end.

Everyone has just about said it all. Over the years the Bauers, Coopers, and Spauldins have been a part of my life as well. I thought the story line with Rick and Abby was great. I will have to say I was a little disappointed that Frank didn't get his girl in the end or maybe he did? Thanks for the memories Guiding Light, The light will always continue to shine.

Like everyone else who has been a huge fan of GL I am truly going to miss seeing this show daily. I was so excited when VCRs came out because I got to record every episode while I worked and watched them later in the week!! All the actors and actresses were awesome and I wish each and everyone of you the best and hope to see you on shows in the future as your light will always continue to shine!!

I am sorry to see GL going off the air, it is kind of like the end of childhood for me although I am 36 I grew up watching GL because that is what my babysitter watched and I kept watching it until 8 years ago. My favorite episodes of course are all from the 1980's I loved Nola! And when Reva came on the scene it seemed that GL exploded! I could not wait to find out what was going to happen next! So it is sad to see an error end, good luck to all of the actors most especially those who have been on the show for so long.

I JUST HATE IT THAT YOU TOOK OFF GL . THAT IS THE ONLY ONE I REALLY LIKE IT MADE MY DAY. I LOVE REVA & JOSH WELL ALL OF THEM I HAVE WATCH IT FOR 60 YEARS I AM 72, WHAT DO I DO NOW?

I still can't believe the GL is gone. I miss it everyday, i used to rush home from work to watch it at 3pm. it has been like losing a family member, i have seriously been depressed. I would never in a million years watch anything that is put in its place. the only reason i still watch cbs is for my other 3 soap operas which don't even compare to GL. I hate CBS and could care less if they went bankrupt. I am 36 and have watched the show since i knew what tv was. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BRING IT BACK! no matter how many times I would get mad and say I'll never watch it again, there i sat the next day watching it lol.
