Khary Payton joined the cast of GH, his first soap, in 2011. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Payton was hit by the acting bug after winning a nationwide talent competition in high school. Payton attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he joined the Dallas Theater Group and appeared on-stage in productions of A Christmas Carol, Macbeth, Pericles and Tartuffe. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly found film and television work. Now a prime-time vet, Payton has also made a name for himself in voiceover work, where he can be heard in dozens of animated series and video games.
