LeBlanc's Movie Night Memoirs

Ever dream about being a star at a celebrity-studded event? Just tag along with THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS' Christian J. LeBlanc (Michael) as he recounts his night on the town in support of the new Rob Marshall movie Memoirs of a Geisha.

"I had a ball," LeBlanc enthuses. "Susan Walters (ex-Diane) was with me and we hooked up with Kimberlin (Brown, Sheila) and a friend of hers, and Michelle (Stafford, Phyllis), so we were all there. Then we met up with Brody Hutzler (ex-Cody; Patrick, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), who used to be on the show. We had a wonderful time."

Memoirs premiered at the Kodak Theatre, home of the Academy Awards (and the 2006 Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony). "All of Hollywood Boulevard was closed off, and they had these cherry trees in boxes up and down the avenue and the banquet hall," LeBlanc describes. "It was one of those great red carpets that give you flashbacks to your childhood. Tom Bosley (HAPPY DAYS) was there, and his wife was so elegant. I said 'Hi' to Henry Winkler (ex-Barry, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT). They were all sitting up there with us. We had some great seats. It was front mezzanine, which are perfect movie seats."

LeBlanc assures that the movie does not disappoint. "I loved the book, and the movie is absolutely beautiful. When you see it, it's visually incredible. The cast is beautiful."

And what's a movie premiere without an equally glittery after-party? "I had my picture taken with geisha girls. Well, they were in dressed in kimonos like geishas," LeBlanc recalls. "It was one of those parties were the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. It was Asian fusion. They had mochi ice cream, scooped cones of Japanese ice and everything. Usually, when you put fish out in chafing dishes, forget it, but it was amazing!"

Good food notwithstanding, LeBlanc says the best part of the party was the opportunity to meet so many stars. "You get to meet all these amazing people. You have to pick and choose whom you want to go up to and say, 'I'm a big fan!' You have to pace yourself," he advises. LeBlanc spent time with Winkler (currently starring in CBS' OUT OF PRACTICE) and his co-star Stockard Channing (Abby, THE WEST WING) before calling it a night.

"I had never been to the Kodak Theatre," LeBlanc concludes. "It was great prep for the Emmy Awards to see the inside."
