Soap Opera Weekly: What is the story on your short film, Unendowed?
Chené Lawson: I'm in the process of editing that right now. I love Woody Allen, but he doesn't have enough black women in his movies. I decided to create a short film that had that feeling to it. It's about a woman who goes on a date with a guy and finds out he's not all she thought he was, so she has to find a creative way of telling him it's not going to work. It's cute. It's kitschy. I want to shop it around at festivals, but it will probably be up on my Web site (www.chenelawson.com) soon.

Weekly: Your bio boasts mostly comedy.
Lawson: I don't think people expect that from me. I have to try extra hard, and I have to go twice as far, because people are like, "She's not going to be that funny."

Weekly: Who was your coolest interview when you were working at Spike TV?
Lawson: I loved [singer] Wycleff Jean, because we just [clicked]. People thought we knew each other, but we'd never met. I also loved [actor] Jet Li, because he was very calm and serious. It was a struggle to get him out of his shell. It was great, because by the end of our interview, he was like, 'Let's pretend!' He's very serious, which is great, but when you’re on TV....
