YOUNG AND RESTLESS Interviews

Judith Chapman - FYI

Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I don't think anything would surprise you!

Favorite book: Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramahansa Yogananda. It's something that everyone should read — even if you're not into yoga.

Favorite comfort food: Warm cheese, warm bread and butter.

If I had one wish, it would be: That the governments of the world could get it together.

Something that makes me see red: Mean-spiritedness and unkindness.

If I could live anywhere, it would be: I'm very happy having my L.A. life and my Palm Springs (Calif.) life, but I love traveling the world. I see myself part time in Thailand. James [her significant other] and I talk about it often. I have family in Spain, so I love traveling to Spain and Europe. I'd like to spend a lot more time in Italy.

Sound that most annoys me: Whining and complaining.

Favorite weekend activity: Eating James' food and playing in my garden.

Best one word or short phrase that describes me: "What a gal."

Favorite place in my house: Other than my bed, the Jacuzzi.

Worst job I ever had: I took a Christmas job at Macy's. Trying to figure out the computer machines was horrible, and Macy's during the holidays was just too crazy. It was a nightmare, and I was the worst!

Celebrity I'm most often mistaken for: Pamela Franklin, a wonderful English actress, but that hasn't happened in years. It got to the point where people would say, "I love that scary movie you were in," and I'd say, "Oh, thank you." Thank God she's a good actress.

My childhood nickname: Itsy Bitsy.

Favorite actor: John Cusack. I've been watching him for so many years, and he's just grown and grown.

Favorite actress: Kathy Bates.

Favorite TV show: COLD CASE. I used to watch the original one from the BBC, called WAKING THE DEAD.

Favorite singer: Cesaria Evora, from Brazil. She's a fabulous, soulful singer.

My first kiss: Who can remember back that far? He was so embarrassed milk came out of his nose after I kissed him. This was kindergarten, obviously.

Biggest regret: When I graduated from college, I moved to New York to do the whole "starving actress" thing, and my parents were living in Korea. I have a great love of travel and I've lived all over the world, so I regret that I didn't take the bloody time to visit them for a few months.

Cause I most believe in: I may make a lot of enemies here, but people [need to] stop having so many children, and we [must] start encouraging and supporting birth control and birth-control education.
