PASSIONS's McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) Goes Country

— By Lori Latusek

Soap Opera Digest: While on maternity leave, you took a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, with your husband, Seven, and son Maddox. How did that go?
McKenzie Westmore: That was really fun because we traveled with Seven's band. There were about eight of us travelling together. That was a really fun flight. Then we met up with the rest of the band. We took over a whole bed and breakfast with the band. One of the other band members has a 3-year-old. It was so much fun. We had such a great time hanging out with everybody. Maddox had such a great time; you could tell because there are ceiling fans everywhere you go in Tennessee, so he was mesmerized everywhere we went.

Digest: Did he like to see his daddy on stage?
Westmore: It's so funny because whenever Seven sings, Maddox lights up and starts cooing. He almost wants to talk. He loves hearing Seven's voice and I don't know if it's because he heard him sing so much when he was in my stomach. That's the only thing I can think of. It's so awesome to see.

Digest: And now Seven is doing a reality show?
Westmore: Yes. The concept is being changed around a little bit. It's kind of about the making of their band and what they're having to go through to become a country band. One of them is the guitarist for Alice Cooper and he's trying to get out of his contract, so how is that going to take to the country world? Seven is coming from a pop/rock band. How is that going to translate to the country world? It's all about that. How are they going to transition? How are they going to be accepted? Are they country enough?

Digest: And what's going on with your album?
Westmore: We're still working on it.

Digest: There are a couple of songs on myspace.com/mckenziewestmoremusic. Did you write them?
Westmore: I worked on them with Seven and some other writers.

Digest: Describe your music.
Westmore: It's country with ... I know on MySpace it's defined as Christian Country. I definitely would like to start going in that direction. Right now it's not that. Right now it's just basic country.
