Goldsberry’s View from Llanview

— By Gabrielle Winkel

ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline) takes a break from Llanview to enjoy (co-hosting on) THE VIEW.

Soap Opera Weekly: You were great on THE VIEW. Was it fun?
Renee Elise Goldsberry: Oh, so much fun! The idea of doing it is a bit stressful, because it's not like you can really prepare for it. You just show up. [But] from the moment you arrive at the building, everybody is so nice and so loving and so welcoming that any nerves I feel go away immediately. It really feels like being at my cousin's house, because they're the studio right down the street, and the ALL MY CHILDREN cast are walking around the building. My last time (co-hosting) was my first time with Rosie (O’Donnell). She had just come to Super Soap Weekend.

Weekly: That was a perfect match: Rosie and Super Soap.
Goldsberry: I know, and she was so much fun and so lovely. She's a soap opera fan herself. She watches ALL MY CHILDREN. She could not have been nicer to me, could not have been more supportive. She actually offered to buy all of my CDs and give them to the audience members. Unfortunately, I was too stupid to actually have brought that many CDs with me. I had a ball. I don't remember anything I said, but I definitely felt I might as well have been sitting down talking to a group of friends. My only regret was that I couldn't invite fans to join me in the audience. That show aired on Dec. 1, and that was the first day of their Christmas giveaways, so their audience was booked.

Weekly: Let's talk a little bit about Evangeline. She's got this cute boyfriend, Cristian (played by David Fumero).
Goldsberry: Oh, he's so beautiful!

Weekly: Do you think she's happier with Cristian because he's of more present for her than John?
Goldsberry: She is extremely happy with Cristian. She learned a lot about herself and what she wants with John. She learned from John how to ask the right questions, and in Cristian she's getting the answers that she wanted. She's really, really happy right now. She has love in her life and she has a relationship with John. She doesn't see him as much as she wants to, but she's in a good place just wanting to be happy.

Weekly: Her relationship with Todd is very interesting.
Goldsberry: I always love any kind of mystery looming on the horizon. It makes me worry a bit about Cristian and Evangeline, because I don't know exactly what that friendship [with Todd] is. But it's good to worry about your couple.
