GL took the plunge into deep waters, literally, when it ventured to this exotic locale in the Bahamas to chronicle Dr. Peter Chapman's (Curt Dawson) haunting memories of a scuba diving accident. GL was the first soap to shoot underwater footage.

Alan and Hope (then-Chris Bernau and Elvera Roussel) — CBS

Alan (then-Chris Bernau) and Hope (Elvera Roussel) were stranded on this Caribbean island after their plane crashed, and quickly fell in love. They married in February the following year.

Annabelle (Harley Kozak) — CBS

Annabelle (Harley Kozak) and Tony (Michael Woods) got caught up in some tropical real estate drama that ended with the reveal that Brandon Spaulding was alive and living in a mansion across from their cottage.

Josh and Reva (Robert Newman and Kim Zimmer) — CBS

Reva (Kim Zimmer) and Josh (Robert Newman) took a family vacation to the Florida Keys that ended in tragedy when La Shayne, who was suffering from postpartum depression, drove off a bridge to her presumed death.

Reva's teenage son Dylan (Morgan Englund) rendezvoused there with his girlfriend Samantha (Suzy Cote) in the Keys. She was left paralyzed, and later died, after jumping out of Reva's car.
