To celebrate Danny and Michelle's upcoming return to Springfield, we chronicled the beloved GL couple's numerous ups and downs in this handy, dandy timeline.

• Local darling Michelle Bauer and her gal pal Drew accidentally killed creepy drug dealer Mick (thanks to a few blows to head with a rock) after he tried to seduce Michelle at the beach.
• Mobster Danny Santos arrived in Springfield to avenge his brother Mick's death.
• Danny and Michelle first met at Millenium, where he put the moves on her incite her then-boyfriend Jesse Blue, who Danny believed was responsible for Mick's death.
• They first kissed at the diner and the chemistry was palpable.
• Michelle confessed, so Danny demanded that she marry him lest someone from his family try to avenge Mick's death.

He's Mine! Danny's (Stewart) overbearing Ma, Carmen (Saundra Santiago) continually tried to split her son up with Michelle (then-Joie Lenz). — PGP

• The couple wed on January 8. Danny's mother, Carmen, hated Michelle from the beginning.
• Michelle plotted to work with the FBI to investigate the Santos family.
• Danny admitted to his grandmother Maria that he was in love with Michelle.
• Michelle saved Danny from being arrested in an illegal cigar smuggling ring by pretending she was blind.
• Danny had a one-night stand with Drew after finding out Michelle set up the FBI cigar sting.
• Michelle reunited with Jesse and was served annulment papers.
• Michelle was put on trial for Ben's murder after a pair of bloody gloves was found in her room.

Murder In The First: Danny (Paul Anthony Stewart) stood by Michelle (Lenz) when she was accused of murdering Ben. — PGP

• Michelle was found guilty of murder even though Carmen really killed Ben. She asked Danny for a divorce.
• Danny helped Michelle escape and they fled to San Cristobel, where Cassie and Richard hid them.
• Carmen was arrested; Michelle suffered a miscarriage.
• Michelle, pregnant with Robbie, left Danny (and town) after he admitted to avenging Carmen's death and she saw him being violent with Tony.
• Michelle returned (in the form of Nancy St. Alban) and was kidnapped by Carmen; Danny killed his mom to protect her.

• Robbie was born and the couple reunited. They wed again to prevent Michelle from testifying against him in court for Carmen's murder.
• Danny found Carmen alive at Laurel Falls; she tried to kill Michelle again; Danny's murder charges were dropped.
• Danny quit the mob after working with the feds on an embezzlement sting to expose Carmen and later took a job at Spaulding Enterprises

• Carmen shot Danny on a cliff and he fell to his presumed death; Cassie nursed him back to health but kept mum.
• Danny appeared as a hologram at his own funeral, guilting Carmen into confessing.
• Michelle felt betrayed and refused to start over with Danny after Carmen tried to kidnap her and Robbie yet again

• Michelle began dating Bill.
• Danny and Michelle reunited. Tony and Marah threw the couple a surprise wedding at the Bauer barbecue.
• They took in a troubled boy named Nico who mugged Michelle.
• Danny helped redevelop Fifth Street and decided to run for mayor (against Ross).
• Michelle got caught up in the Maryanne Carruthers murder mystery.

• Danny was elected Mayor and worked with Jeffrey to infiltrate the mob at the height of the Antimonious drug scandal.
• Michelle was caught in an explosion and fell into a coma. She later woke up an amnesiac and discovered that Danny set the explosion that caused her memory loss.
• The couple parted ways and Michelle fell in love with Tony; Danny started seeing Marina.

• Danny tried to rescue Michelle and Holly, who'd been kidnapped by Sebastian in Santo Domingo. His plane went down; he survived and brought the women home.
• Danny and Michelle officially divorced; Robbie ran away when they told him.
• Michelle was set to wed Tony when a building collapsed on her and Danny. Her memory returned and they reunited with passionate sex.
• Tony was outraged and later died after a fall during a scuffle with Danny who continued to date Marina.
• Michelle became pregnant and was taunted by baby-crazed Edmund.
• Michelle was caught in a car crash while giving labor; the child (secretly delivered by Edmund who stole it and passed it off as Cassie's) was believed to be dead.
• Danny discovered their baby was really Cassie and Edmund's daughter, Hope.
• After getting Hope back, Danny and Michelle renewed their vows. They left Springfield to escape the drama and be near Ed, somewhere presumably near the Gulf Coast.
