Forester Sees the Trees (Finally)

— By Mala Bhattacharjee

GUIDING LIGHT's Cassie buried Tammy this year, lost her mind, and finally found her light with new hubby Josh. But when Nicole Forester recently checked in with Weekly during a gorgeous day in New York, she revealed she's happy to end Cassie's tough year on that last high note.

"I'm very mellow today, just chilling in Central Park, vegging under the trees," chuckles Forester, in the exact opposite state as Cassie, who has been far from mellow.

"Oh, my God, has she ever [had a tough year]!" exclaims the actress. "Marrying Josh is just a great thing to happen, to end this year, you know?"

We know. Everybody knows. But does Reva know? "I think that Cassie and Josh feel totally committed to each other," insists Forester of Josh's ever-present ex-wife. "Cassie and Josh are totally united and their exchange of vows was so heartfelt and so binding between the two of them."

Yes, but "Bud" and Reva were bound through a couple of weddings, too — and see how that worked out? "Reva will always be Cassie's sister, Josh's ex-wife — and his on-again off-again, lifelong love," admits Forester. "But you have to meet people where you are now, and this is where the characters are now."

That doesn’t mean they won't be somewhere else in two years, and Forester is well aware of that. "Nothing lasts forever and Cassie and Josh are both mature enough now to see that," shrugs the actress. "But they feel very connected. They feel as if it is the two of them in this."

Besides, it's not like Reva isn't finding her own connection. "I don't know about Reva and Jeffrey," grins Forester, noting, "I don’t think anybody is sure if Reva and Jeffrey are going to be a long-term couple, but they are enjoying each other."

As for Forester, she definitely enjoyed her day at the park. "In the CBS studios there are no windows. It's like a bunker," confides the actress. "So I try to get out and enjoy it when I am not on-set!"
