1983
Childhood sweethearts Josh and Reva reconnected in Springfield when Alan paid Ms. Shayne to come to town and declare that she was still legally married to Billy.

1984
Josh and Reva planned to marry until he learned about her and Alan's nefarious connection. Hurt by Josh's rejection, Reva ended up in bed with his daddy, H.B., and the duo quickly married. Josh, so angered by Reva's latest move, crashed his car. He was temporarily paralyzed and was wheelchair-bound when he threw clothes at Reva as she baptized herself the "Slut of Springfield" in the country club's fountain. After Josh recovered (and Reva dried off), they rekindled their love affair. After they learned that she was pregnant with H.B.'s baby, Josh left town; Reva miscarried.

1986-87
Josh returned to Springfield, and Reva, who had divorced H.B., quickly forgot about her new fiancé, Kyle. Josh and Reva hit the sheets, and nine months later welcomed their first child together, Marah - or so they thought. Josh's old pal from Venezuela, Will, doctored the infant's paternity test to say that Kyle was her dad. Josh called it quits, but they reconciled just as his presumed-dead ex-wife Sonni, returned. Feeling obligated, Josh remarried Sonni, much to Reva's dismay.

1988
As it turned out, Marah is actually Josh's daughter, and Sonni was really Sonni's evil twin, Solita, who had teamed up with Will to orchestrate Josh's downfall. Josh and Reva went to Venezuela to investigate and ended up having sex on the beach.

1989
Solita was actually Sonni, who had adopted Solita's personality after killing her. Josh got a divorce, and he and Reva married at a memorable Cross Creek wedding.

1990
Reva suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to Shayne. Josh took the family and their nanny, Harley, to the Florida Keys to help his wife recuperate. A delusional Reva drove off a bridge, and despite Josh's valiant search, her body was not found.

1995
Josh, who was head over heels for Annie (who had not yet turned psycho), was visited by Reva's spirit. Soon, the real Reva turned up in Amish country as amnesiac Rebecca. Once Reva regained her memory, she raced to Springfield, but it was not in time to stop Josh from marrying Annie.
