GENERAL HOSPITAL Features
GH - Who Said That?Forget "out of the mouths of babes" — some of the most quotable quotes come from daytime's finest actors (although many of them are babes, too). Soap Opera Weekly gathered some memorable statements made by the GENERAL HOSPITAL cast over the years. See if you can figure out who said what. 1. "If it's contract stuff, people ask me for advice. I don't know why that is. I don't know what their reason is for picking me instead of the guy walking across the lot. I don't see that I do anything different than a lot of people, so I can't pinpoint why somebody would ask me. I know I do have a little bit of sense when it comes to money, contracts and negotiating, stuff like that. And if I don't know an answer, I can get one for you." (2007)
a.Ted King (Alcazar) 2. "I'm an obsessive clean freak. I think my mom did it to me, because we had very strict chores on the refrigerator that we had to do morning, noon and night. I can't go to bed with the house remotely dirty or dusty or if there's a dish in the sink. I mean, I bleach my walls probably once a week. I clean them with bleach. I bleach my walls, my counter tops, my silverware and my floors. I'm on my hands and knees scrubbing. But I love it. I love to clean." (2001)
a. Kristina Wagner (ex-Felicia) 3. "I was an altar boy because it would get me away from school. I could get lost for a couple of hours in the afternoon and serve in a funeral or something. If I had to go to church on Sunday, I wanted to be an altar boy. It would be a way to upstage the priest." (2002)
a. Rick Hearst (Ric) 4. "I make [my kids] earn their money. If they don't do their jobs that week, they don't get their allowances, because I believe in life that we all appreciate what we work for or what we earn more than what's just handed to us. When [we] go out shopping and they say, 'Oh! I want a new pair of shoes,' well, obviously, I can afford to buy the shoes. But, sometimes, you need to say 'No.' It's a question of, Do you want to spend your own money? How badly do you want the shoes? You have to pay for the shoes, if you want them.'" (2002)
a. Kristina Wagner 5. "My eyes well up with tears every morning, when I put my key in the dressing-room door. That I am at this age and have a steady job...the number of women that I started with in this business years ago and have fallen by the wayside. That I still have a job and a good job and a job that I enjoy is a source of constant amazement and gratitude for me." (2005)
a. Jane Elliot (Tracy)
6. "[My castmates have] seen me at my best and at my worst, through drunken brawls and hissy fits, winning and losing. These are great great people, who are all very talented and devoted to what they do." (2006)
a. Tristan Rogers (Robert) 7. "'Deserve everything, expect nothing.' I pretty much live my life with that [in mind]. We always get greedy and think that we don't have enough. Whether it be, 'I want to be in movies,' or, 'Why didn't I get this?' 'Why don't I have that?' You deserve everything, of course, but you can't expect anything. Then, you won't get so hurt in life." (2002)
a. Steve Burton 8. "I'm very obsessive about my character. I'm very obsessive of my work. I'm very obsessive, to a certain extent, of my life, and that is what keeps me going. I'm very passionate about things." (2003)
a. Ingo Rademacher (Jax) 9. "I hear some [women] say, 'Oh, God! I never want to get pregnant on the show,' or that once you have kids, that means your storyline is over and you're tied down forever. No, I think it's great. It keeps [my character] very real." (2006)
a. Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) 10. "I got the callback from (casting director) Mark Teschner, who's a great guy. I will never forget what he said to me. He said, 'You're a smartass. I want to bring you back.' I was like, 'Rock out!'" (2005)
a. Lindze Letherman (Georgie) 11. "I dropped an agent one time who said, 'Today's market is youth-oriented.' I told him, 'Yes, but those young people have fathers and grandfathers and lawyers and doctors....' They have to have somebody to anchor these young kids or they just kind of float around and go to proms. And some of the shows that you see just kind of float around." (2003)
a. Ron Hale (Mike) 12. "I can handle [the mobsters]. They're great guys and, yeah, they put up a big force field. But I'm having fun penetrating it." (2005)
a. Jennifer Bransford (ex-Carly)
