She's back, she's bad, and Heather Lauren Olson wouldn't want it any other way. After a nearly three-year run as DAYS OF OUR LIVES nasty troublemaker, Jan Spears, Olson was written off the show in 2002. When she was asked to return to wreak more havoc this fall, Olson leapt at the opportunity. Find out what Olson did while she was away and what Jan's up to now that she's back on DAYS.

Soap Opera Weekly: Is Jan going to be as bad as she used to be this time around?
Heather Lauren Olson: No. I think she's even worse...that maybe she's gotten a little mental out there, [because] she's just concentrated her mind on Shawn. This is what I'm getting, but I don't know for sure. It's been great. Being the bad girl is fun. Being the mentally unbalanced bad girl is even more cuckoo.

Weekly: What was your reaction when DAYS asked you to return?
Olson: It was a nice surprise. I knew it would be great coming back, because I already knew the whole routine of the show and could scoot right back into it. It wasn't like I'd have to learn anything all over again.

Weekly: What has been the best part about being back?
Olson: I was so happy to see everybody again -- the crew and the cast. It's nice to be back in a place where you've worked before. I know everybody, and I got a really nice welcome. That makes anybody feel good.

Weekly: Is there anything different about working on DAYS this time around?
Olson: I've had scenes with Marlena. I mean, I had scenes with Deidre Hall before, but they were big group scenes. I like [having one- on-one] scenes with her a lot. She's an amazing actress, who has been on the show for years. It's an honor to work with her.
