People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL's Lorenzo Lamas speaking in double entendres.

"Millions who desperately need protection from pregnancy can't even get the condoms unwrapped," Lamas states in a sexy new PETA public-service announcement. But he is not talking about people. He is encouraging you to "save lives by having your animal companions spayed and neutered."

The 30-second television spot is sure to raise eyebrows, but PETA's message is one Lamas hopes the fans take seriously. One unspayed female cat can create 36 new ones in a year and a half, while a male can spread his seed infinitely.

"There will never be enough loving homes for the millions of surplus cat and dogs until everyone makes spaying and neutering the top priority with their companion animals," Lamas' PSA continues. "Shelters are brimming over with perfectly healthy, loving dogs and cats who are literally dying for homes."
