1987
Chemistry major Brooke Logan works her way into Ridge Forrester's life when his fiancè Caroline Spencer is rushed to the hospital. Captivated by the couple, she befriends Caroline and when they break up, she makes her first play for Ridge. Meanwhile, Caroline and Thorne fall in love. Though Ridge has feelings for Brooke, he soon realizes he's not over his ex and writes to Caroline professing his feelings. Brooke intercepts the love letter and, none the wiser, Caroline goes through with the wedding.

1988
After the nuptials, Brooke and Ridge begin dating, but Ridge can't get Caroline out of his heart and one night, the in-laws make love. When their secret is revealed, a drunken Thorne shoots his brother. Once recovered, Ridge proposes to Brooke for the first time. She joyfully accepts.

1989
Brooke becomes pregnant, but a tragic miscarriage postpones the wedding plans. Ridge is drawn back to Caroline after she and Thorne end their marriage and a torn Ridge realizes he can't marry either woman.

1990
Left brokenhearted after Ridge marries Caroline; Brooke turns to Eric, Ridge's father, and soon becomes pregnant with his child. When Caroline is diagnosed with leukemia, she encourages both her doctor Taylor Hayes and Brooke to support a grieving Ridge. By year's end, widower Ridge is dating Taylor and Brooke and Eric are the proud parents of Eric "Rick" Forrester, Jr.

1991
Just before exchanging "I Dos" with Eric, Brooke fantasizes that it is Ridge she's marrying, but she still goes through with the ceremony. Stephanie works to break them up, as Ridge and Taylor grow closer. Ridge and Brooke try to contain their feelings, but ultimately make love after creating BeLief, an anti-wrinkle formula. Determined to fight for Brooke, Eric asks her to give him two more months. She agrees and Ridge consummates his relationship with Taylor.

1992
Eric and Brooke separate and she and Ridge continue sleeping together. Ultimately, however, Ridge decides he can't stand in the way of his father's happiness and he pretends to cheat on Brooke. Later, Ridge commits to Taylor. On their wedding day, Brooke learns she's pregnant...with Ridge's child! Ridge delivers little Bridget at the Forrester cabin in Big Bear as Taylor talks him through the process via phone.

1993
Nurse Sheila Carter alters baby Bridget's paternity test results so that it IDs Ridge and clears her own path to Eric. A newly divorced Brooke uses Bridget to re-connect with Ridge and drive a wedge between him and Taylor. Brooke begins dating attorney Connor Davis to make Ridge jealous.
