1982-83: Ashley returns home from college and works for Jabot, her father John's cosmetics company.... She accepts Eric Garrison's proposal, but dumps him after finding out he was once involved with her estranged mother, Dina.... Ash briefly dallies with stepbrother Marc Mergeron.

1985-86: Ashley learns that Brent Davis is her biological dad and is traumatized; Victor helps her cope and they bond — much to the chagrin of his wife Nikki.... Victor and Ashley declare their love for each other, but he stays with Nikki because she has a life-threatening disease.... Ash learns she's pregnant with Victor's baby and has an abortion. Then she has a mental breakdown.

1987-88: Ashley falls in love with her psychiatrist, Steven Lassiter. They marry, but later he is murdered by a former patient.

1990-92: Ashley and Victor impulsively tie the knot at her cabin. They have problems when his daughter, Victoria, returns to Genoa City from a Swiss boarding school and wants her parents to reconcile.... Mr. and Mrs. Newman split when he falls back in love with Nikki.

1993-95: Ashley marries Alex "Blade" Bladeson, a photographer. She unknowingly sleeps with his evil twin brother, Rick.... Blade is killed in a car accident and Ashley is horrified when a lovesick Rick shows up and reveals their romps. Ash rejects her brother-in-law and moves to Paris.
