AS THE WORLD TURNS

Interviews

— STEVEN BERGMAN

The Long Good-Bye

For their big "exit" interview, we met Jennifer Landon (Gwen) and Jesse Soffer (Will) at the studio, where Soffer quickly suggested that we move to his dressing room down the hall (across from Michael Park's, Jack) for more privacy. MORE

The Co-Hosts With The Most

Our Valentine's Day issue features a Q&A with ATWT's hottest non-couple, Terri Colombino (Katie) and Austin Peck (Brad). You can read about what she thought of his screen test in the magazine, but here they talk about when they met — as well as the bizarre trip they took not long after, as they (in character) cleaned up a contest-winner's basement for a segment on their fictional talk show, OAKDALE NOW. ATWT's Craig: Bryce-d for Impact

AS THE WORLD TURNS' Scott Bryce is leaving the role of the nefarious Craig, but there is still the reasoning behind — and the fallout from — Craig's misdeeds to ponder. MORE

Winning Tips

INTURN, the reality show in which actors compete for a 13-week gig on AS THE WORLD TURNS, is coming back for a third season. In-person casting calls will be held in Orlando, FL, on January 19 and Richmond, VA, on January 26. Contestants aged 18-36 can also submit a tape for consideration. Before you go to cbs.com for more information, check out the advice that INTURN 2 winner Ryan Serhant, currently appearing as Evan Walsh IV, has for the next nine. MORE

Austin Peck: The Naked Truth

AS THE WORLD TURNS' Brad and Katie took to the task of making little Snyders almost as enthusiastically as Austin Peck (Brad) took to taping the hilarious scenes. MORE

— JOHN PASCHAL/JPI

Early Dylan

His first daytime part was literally a rat, and his current gig — as the eighth actor to take on ATWT's troublesome role of Chris Hughes — already has him in the rocky position of possibly having caused the near death of Oakdale's beloved patriarch, which is detailed in the 1/1 Digest's Hot Plots Preview. We talked to the Canadian-born actor about what led to his big daytime break — and found out that he's well aware of the Chris Hughes Curse. MORE

— LUCIANA PAMPALONE

Wiseguys Extra! (Part One)

There wasn't a single moment of reparteé in our recent Q&A with AS THE WORLD TURNS's Michael Park (Jack) and GUIDING LIGHT's Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus) — in Digest's 12/11 issue — that didn't elicit uproarious laughter all around. Even their nonsensical tangents had us giggling, which is why there's so much left over, and we're sharing everything. (Well, everything that they won't shoot us for printing.) MORE

— John Paschal/JPI

Speaking Out

ATWT's Colleen Zenk Pinter (Barbara) spoke about her battle with tongue cancer in Digest's 11/27 issue, but her main goal is to encourage everyone to get screened. It's a quick, completely painless procedure. "You should demand a cancer screening from your denist," she advises. MORE

Van Hansis "Plays" Along

AS THE WORLD TURNS' Van Hansis (Luke) kicks off a five-month run in the off-Broadway production of offbeat play Die Mommie Die! this month in New York City, but the über-busy actor found some time to give a little introduction to Lance — and the lowdown on Luke. MORE

Meet The Parents

Digest gets to know AS THE WORLD TURNS newcomers Chris Heuisler (Cole) and Justine Cotsonas (Sofie), who play Oakdale's co-dependent pair of expectant parents. MORE

— Steven Bergman

Stupid Questions

Digest's new column, Buzz Barometer, is meant to be a cheeky gauge of the zeitgeist according to soap stars, but we couldn't include all of the answers we got. Here's what happened at a recent set visit when an oblivious Hansis walked in just after we'd awkwardly revealed to Alexandra Chando (Maddie) and Jake Silbermann (Noah) that he would be getting a different set of questions from the Roundups. MORE

Saluting The Colonel

In the 26 years since he left his role as Frank on RYAN'S HOPE, there's not much Daniel Hugh Kelly hasn't tackled in show business, from rabid dogs (Cujo) to demons (SUPERNATURAL). MORE

ATWT Summers in Branson

AS THE WORLD TURNS' teen set heads to Branson, Mo., on the air this week, but the cast filmed on location in the showbiz mecca during the week of June 4. Alexandra Chando (Maddie) called Weekly to dish the food, the company, and the joy of Go Kart racing. MORE

Getting an "A" in Aaron and Agim

Agim Kaba's Aaron returns to his old AS THE WORLD TURNS stomping grounds on June 15. Here, his co-stars Grayson McCouch and Kelley Menighan Hensley (Dusty and Emily) give each other (and fans) a little refresher course. MORE

— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

Talk Stewarts

Digest's Mother's Day issue featured an interview with ATWT's Marie Masters (Susan) and on-screen daughters Kelley Menighan Hensley (Emily) and Marnie Schulenburg (Alison). In this bonus excerpt, they discuss how they've created a dysfunctional family bond — and the tough-love treatment that awaits ATWT newcomers when they get to Brooklyn. MORE

— Robin Platzer/Twin Images

Turnabout Is Fair Play

In the 5/8 issue of Digest, we asked stars to interview each other. You've already read Elena Goode (Jade) well-prepared interrogation of her AS THE WORLD TURNS co-star, Van Hansis (Luke). Here's what happened when he — off the top of his head — turned the tables. MORE

Park & Colombino: The Name Game

Whether it's "Bennifer," "Brangelina," or "CarJack," the true signature of coupledom is a catchy nickname. So when Weekly sat down with AS THE WORLD TURNS' Michael Park (Jack) and Terri Colombino (Katie) to discuss their characters' fledgling relationship for our May 1 issue, we asked them the burning question.... MORE

— Steven Bergman

Hello, Barbara!

ATWT's Barbara, regrettably, hasn't been around much these days — and we've really missed her! That's why we were delighted to catch up with her portrayer, Colleen Zenk Pinter, at a recent set visit. (And in case you think we're engaging in some polite flattery at the end, Pinter really does look fantastic — and not just "for her age.") MORE

— PGP

Feeling a Bit Peck-ish

Weekly caught up with AS THE WORLD TURNS' Austin Peck (Brad) for a recent feature interview, and the Oakdale newcomer had so much to say, we couldn't fit it all into print — but we just had to share more with readers. MORE

— Aaron Montgomery/JPI

Crossover Steps

When Marnie Schulenburg was cast as AS THE WORLD TURNS's Alison late last year, she learned, in quick succession, that she would be: a) actually debuting on YOUNG AND RESTLESS in a crossover; b) simultaneously appearing on the Web series L.A. DIARIES; and c) playing a character who dabbled in porn. Here's what she said after her first day of work at ATWT. MORE

— PGP

All About Ewa

Okay, so maybe it's not all about AS THE WORLD TURNS' Ewa da Cruz (Vienna), but when Weekly sat down with the charming actress for an upcoming feature, we got the goods on whether or not she's as high-maintenance as her adorably avaricious alter ego. MORE

— PGP

Central Parker

As Parker Joe Munson, son of ATWT's Carly and the late Hal (and the likely-to-be-adopted son of Jack), he's already got a built-in fan base — which recently suffered a huge scare from a false report that his character would be killed — but actor Mick Hazen, who turns 14 in March, knows he's got to work hard to win their respect. MORE

Leyden Says "See Ya" to Simon

Weekly grabbed a few minutes with AS THE WORLD TURNS’ Paul Leyden (ex-Simon) just days before he headed out of Oakdale and back to the Land Down Under. In this Q&A, Leyden talks Carly, chemistry and characterization — and gives himself a little direction. MORE

— PGP

Nice To Meet You: Matt Cavenaugh

Between joining one of Oakdale's first families on-screen and one of America's first families onstage, it's no wonder AS THE WORLD TURNS newcomer Matt Cavenaugh (Adam) needs some sleep (and maybe a shirt!). MORE

— PGP

Extra Jean

We talked to AS THE WORLD TURNS Head Writer Jean Passanante for about an hour for the interview in the 1/16 issue of Digest. Here's what didn't make it into the magazine. MORE

You're Hired!

Ryan Serhant beat out eight other contestants on INTURN 2 for a 13-week contract on AS THE WORLD TURNS, for what turned out to be a plum role: He’ll be playing the son of Evan Walsh, played by Greg Watkins from 1991-95. Serhant first airs on November 7, and Digest caught up with the actor recently to congratulate him on his win. MORE
