Getting an "A" in Aaron and Agim

— By Mala Bhattacharjee

Agim Kaba's Aaron returns to his old AS THE WORLD TURNS stomping grounds on June 15. Here, his co-stars Grayson McCouch and Kelley Menighan Hensley (Dusty and Emily) give each other (and fans) a little refresher course.

Soap Opera Weekly: Are you looking forward to Aaron's return to Oakdale?
Grayson McCouch: I'm happy that he's coming back. He's a really good kid and a good actor. He's a good man; I shouldn't say "kid."
Kelley Menighan Hensley: Yeah, he is, he's a kid (laughs). He's a punk. But it's good that Aaron's back. It makes perfect sense.

Weekly: Dusty and Aaron used to clash over Lucy, so it's like round two.
McCouch: Did we (laughs)? Yeah, it's so funny.
Hensley: Emily won't be hooking up with Aaron.
McCouch: Dusty was mentoring that character for a while. They were hanging out. Dusty gave him a job [at Metro].
Hensley: That was a while ago.

Weekly: It's interesting that Alison and Aaron are revisiting that history with Emily in the mix, right?
McCouch: Wait, how do you get to have the fun with him? He’s Emily's...?
Hensley: Her sister's ex-boyfriend. And Holden's son. Nothing more than that. I have a feeling it's going to be a closer bond sooner or later.
McCouch: We're all flying by the seat of our pants. That makes it fun.

Weekly: Alison is certainly a handful, isn't she?
McCouch: Marnie Schulenburg's been doing a great job.
Hensley: I'm glad that they brought the character back darker, because you can't be a Stewart and not have an ugly past. You just can't. It's not possible, and that wasn't addressed last time. It will be interesting to see her dynamic with Agim. Forget the person Alison used to be, she's really a different character.

Weekly: She's not the same Ali that dated Aaron?
Hensley: She walked down that dark side.

Weekly: Do you think Emily can bring her back to the light?
Hensley: Yes, and bring her naiveté back a little bit.
McCouch: Where has Aaron been? Has he just been away?
Hensley: Where did she move before she went to California? Seattle. Aaron was in Seattle, and they weren't getting along. He didn't want her to be an actress, and she said, "I've gotta go. I'm going to L.A."

Weekly: She hooked up with Amber from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, and it was all downhill from there.
McCouch: So he's not privy to the knowledge that she did porn or anything like that?
Hensley: Aaron knows nothing! He's coming back to a lot of drama.
