Most people have a bit of trouble getting psyched to go to work and can't wait to go home, but ALL MY CHILDREN's Cameron Mathison has an added incentive to rush home: 17-month-old son Lucas.

"He cries every day when I leave, and when I come home he runs to me, clapping his hands and screaming," relates Mathison (Ryan). "My wife's been traveling a lot, working a lot out town, so I get him all to myself. Of course, when I'm working we have help to help us. That's the one beautiful thing about my job, that I spend so much time with him. The bond that we have, I wouldn't pass it up. It's the simple things that make me love him."

Like all new dads, Mathison can't wait to pass on skills — especially when it comes to his passion for sports, like skiing. "I cannot wait. I don't know if I'm a good ski instructor," Mathison says, breathlessly. "A lot of people that are good at certain sports don't really know how to teach them because maybe it came naturally to them. I just can't wait to play basketball or ski with him or take him to the driving range and let him whack (golf) balls. That is just going to be so much fun for me. I'll just go crazy."

But life isn't just a ball for young Lucas. He spends plenty of time with mom Vanessa. "He's a daddy's boy sometimes and then sometimes he's a mommy's boy," Mathison says with a laugh. "If he needs to be calm and doesn't feel well, he'll go to his mom. He has fun, energetic playtimes [when he's] silly and goofy. I think he got my hyperactive gene, so that's how we connect."

Like they say, the only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys.
