ALL MY CHILDREN Interview

Brent Weber (Sean, AMC)
— ABC

Brent Control

Soap Opera Digest: First off, happy belated birthday, correct? It was on July 16?
Brent Weber: Yep. I moved out to New York on my birthday, actually. I was in L.A. for four years before I came out here.

Digest: Did you audition for AMC out there?
Weber: I got put on tape out in L.A. then flew out to New York for the screen test. I tested with Ambyr [Childers , Colby]. I'd done other stuff before, but the network tests I'd done are really different from the one for the soap. But I did my test on a Thursday afternoon, flew back to L.A. on Friday, found out I got it, and moved to New York that Sunday. It was so fast, I didn't even have time to think about it. It was my birthday, so all of my friends were getting together anyway. I just turned it into a birthday/moving-to-New York thing. And then that Tuesday, I was on the set working.

Digest: What was your first day like?
Weber: Well, my first scenes were with Susan Lucci [Erica], so that was great. I was really excited about that. My mom flipped out when I told her and called everyone in town. And Susan couldn't have been nicer or more great to work with.

Sean with Colby (Ambyr Childers, l.) and Sydney (Taylor Gildersleeve)
— ABC

Digest: Colby and Sydney were both drooling over Sean the minute they met him. What is his opinion of them?
Weber: He's having a blast with these two girls. He just cruised into town and having both of these girls vying for his attention, he thinks it's great [laughs]. He's kind of playing both of them. Nothing too serious has happened with either of them yet, so there's nothing huge at stake. Right now, it's just fun and games.

Digest: Sitting here with you, I have to say that I see a strong physical resemblance between you and your on-screen uncle, Mr. Walt Willey (Jack).
Weber: Yeah, Walt is awesome. He's a lot of fun to work with and easygoing. Right away he was just like, "Hey, let me know if you want to come by my dressing room to run lines." He really helped me out a lot.

Digest: Speaking of dressing rooms, do you have one yet or are you floating around?
Weber: Floating around. It'll take a couple more weeks, from what I hear.

Digest: Whose dressing room is your favorite, so far?
Weber: I'm in Aiden's [Turner, Aidan] room right now and it's pretty cool. He's got it set up really nice. Michael Jordan's [Reggie] room is cool, too; he has a great stereo in there. I can't wait to get my own so I can deck it out.

Digest: Have you found a place to live here yet?
Weber: Nope, I'm still living at the hotel [where ABC puts up its relocated actors]. The beds are like this [knocks on the wood table in front of him]. So I'm sleeping really well.
