Young and Restless Recaps
Y&R Week of September 10, 2007
Monday
Phyllis was served breakfast in jail. She joked about the food's quality,
then chatted with the guard about their respective children. However, when
Phyllis asked if she could call to check up on Summer, the guard reminded
Phyllis that she's on restricted privileges for a week.
At the Abbott mansion, Nicholas came by with Summer. Noah came downstairs
and told Nick he needs to buy a new item for school. When Nick refused to
take him shopping, Noah asked Jack to accompany him instead. Noah asked if
he could call Phyllis, but when Nick tried to reach her, he couldn't get
through. Noah wondered why, but Nick simply said that Phyllis couldn't take
calls for the next few days. Noah insisted on visiting her instead. After,
Nick called Michael and filled him on Phyllis's predicament. He urged
Michael to visit Phyllis with him since Michael, being Phyllis lawyer, would
still be able to see her. Noah again asked Nick if he could come with him,
but Nick said that Phyllis needed to see her lawyer. Sharon volunteered to
watch Summer; Noah quickly cheered up when Nick offered to pay him $5 an
hour to babysit his little sister. Later, Michael and Nick went to the
prison, pretending that Nick was Michael's co-counsel.
At the GCAC, Katherine questioned Maggie and Paul about their investigation
of Ji Min's death. All Maggie would offer is that the investigation was
ongoing. Kay urged them to wrap it up quickly so Jill wouldn't have to
suffer.... Meanwhile, at the Chancellor Estate, Jill admitted to Cane that
she'd never expected to fall for Ji Min. They laughed as they remembered
some of Ji Min's bad jokes about chemists. However, she became upset when
she read an article in the newspaper saying that she found Ji Min's body.
"That's a lie," Jill stated, reminding him that Amber was seen standing over
the corpse. Jill then agreed to speak with a reporter, explaining that the
best way to get the cops to investigate is to keep the story alive....
Maggie admitted to Paul that she believes Ji Min's death doesn't seem like
an accident to her... Later, Jill met with the reporter and filled him in on
Jack's lies about Jabot. She added that there's a tape out there that has
Jack's confession on it. Soon, Kay arrived and tried to stop the interview.
Jill told her that she asked the reporter to come over. She became angry
when Kay didn't own up to purchasing the company from Jack. When the
reporter left, Kay questioned Jill about her motives. Jill stated that she
simply wanted to tell everyone the truth about Jack. Kay couldn't believe
that Jill would want to take her own mother down with him.
David and Nikki worried how the aftermath of the death would affect them.
After, Nikki and Jack met up to discuss how to do damage control so they
could protect Clear Springs. Kay called Jack to warn him about Jill, while
Jill asked Victor for the incriminating tape. Victor feigned ignorance about
it. Later, the reporter paid Jack a visit. Jack also played dumb, insisting
that the tape doesn't exist.... Kay told Nikki about Jill's actions. The
ladies asked Victor about the tape, but he again said he knew nothing about
it. Still, Jill went and questioned Jack about it. She warned Jack that when
she finds the tape, she's releasing it. Later, Kay pointed out to Jill that
if the tape is released, she'll also hurt Cane since it would affect the
Clear Springs project. Jill was unmoved and went to see the reporter again.
He said that he couldn't run a story without the proof against Jack.
Noah called Nick on his cell phone to tell him that Summer said "Noah." Nick
tried to keep the conversation short so he wouldn't give himself away to the
warden. Sharon then got on the phone, but Nick quickly got her off the line.
Later, Nick and Michael visited Phyllis, who played along with the idea that
Nick was her lawyer. Michael kept watch as they kissed. Phyllis was thrilled
when Nick told her that Summer was feeling better. As the guard walked by,
Nick pulled out some papers to make his "lawyer" act seem more legitimate.
Michael then pleaded with the warden to restore Phyllis's privileges.
Baldwin was coming close to persuading him, but the warden then received a
call that Phyllis and her "lawyer" were kissing. Realizing that Nick was
actually her husband, the warden separated them and stated that Nick was
forbidden to see her indefinitely. Phyllis begged him not to keep her from
her family, but the warden stood firm in his decision.
At home, Jack took some family photos of Noah, Sharon and Summer. They were
enjoying themselves until Noah flipped on the TV and the news ran the
recording of Jack confessing that he owned Jabot. Jack was shocked. The
scene then cut to Jill looking surprised, but pleased; Nikki and David
looking alarmed, and Victor watching with a big smile on his face.
Tuesday
Sharon was upset with Jack for not telling her the truth about Jabot. Jack
concluded that Ji Min had been working for Victor, which is why the
confession tape suddenly reappeared. Soon, Nicholas came by to pick up Noah;
he was angry with Jack for lying to his son.
Victoria was also angry with Nikki for keeping the truth about Jack from
her. Still, David urged Vicky to help her mom do damage control.... Neil and
Karen also believed that the news could affect their jobs since they were
working with Jack on Clear Springs. Jack called Nikki at Newman and told her
that he knows Victor was behind the release of the tape. After hanging up,
she went right to Victor and asked him point-blank about the tape. He
insisted that he would never damage anything he was funding. Nikki then
reminded him that it's their anniversary, but he didn't really care.
Jill watched the news broadcast about Jack with Kay and Cane. She believed
that the late Ji Min was being vindicated by Jack's downfall. She admitted
that she wasn't responsible for releasing the tape. Cane feared that the
news would ruin Jabot and Clear Springs.
Michael blamed himself for Nick not being allowed to visit Phyllis.... Noah
asked Nick why Jack was in trouble, but Nick only gave a vague response.
They went to visit Lauren, who treated them to cupcakes. Noah took pictures
of Lauren, Nick and Summer so he could send them to Phyllis. When Noah
stepped outside, a sympathetic Lauren told Nick she knows what happened at
the prison. Nick replied that Summer senses that something isn't right, and
that the baby misses Phyllis. Nick was also worried about Sharon and Noah
getting sucked in by Jack's lies.
Kay, Nikki, Michael and Victoria met up at Newman so they could come up with
some way to do damage control. Kay suggested they issue a statement saying
that the tape was a hoax. The others thought that was a terrible idea....
Cane urged Jill to give Kay a break. Jill was concerned that Ji Min's memory
would be marred by the scandal.
Jack tried to find a loophole that would clear him. Sharon reminded him that
someone just died — and that Jack did, in fact, lie about Jabot. She
urged
him to tell the truth, but he was worried about upholding his reputation.
"You are a human being," she pointed out. "I know that you're a good man.
And I want Noah to be able to look up to you."
Nick left the kids with Lauren and paid Sharon a visit. He questioned her
about Jack's parenting skills; Sharon stated that Jack loves Noah like his
own son. Nick didn't want Noah living at the Abbott manse until the scandal
blew over. Sharon refused, noting that they have joint custody. Later, Nick
and Noah played video games together at Nick's place. When Noah went to
check on Summer, Nick sadly held one of Phyllis's sweaters.... Lauren
planned a romantic evening for herself and Michael, but soon got a call that
her mom, JoAnna, broke her hip.
At Newman, Victoria confronted her father about the tape. She wondered if he
was only trying to get revenge on Jack or if he was also attempting to get
back at her and Nikki. Victor didn't want to discuss it with her.... Jack
joined Nikki and Kay at the office so they could figure out how to deal with
the media and Clear Springs. Jack insisted that they stick together in order
to save the project. Later, Jack held a press conference, where he denied
the allegations against him. At the conference, Nikki backed up Jack's
statements. Both praised Ji Min. At home, Jill and Cane watched, horrified,
as Kay joined Nikki and Jack in denying everything.... At Newman, a
suspicious Neil carefully watched for Victor's reaction as they and Karen
viewed the conference.... Jill blasted Kay for siding with Jack, while
Sharon was disappointed with Jack for lying. Victor then gleefully informed
him that the Senate ethics committee was planning to conduct an
investigation.
Wednesday
At Daniel and Kevin's place, Amber complained to Daniel how she can't catch
a break, especially now that she's being blamed for Ji Min's death. Kevin soon
emerged from the shower and noticed that Amber was wearing his shirt. She
began to take it off for him, but the strip show was interrupted when
someone rang the doorbell. It was Lily — who got the wrong idea about what
they'd been up to. After, Lily and Daniel sadly discussed their destroyed relationship and signed their divorce papers. Still, Daniel reminded her that he loves
her. Amber and Kevin tried to comfort him, but Daniel insisted he was done
with women. Daniel asked Amber to remind him why life doesn't suck; she gave
him four good reasons. After, they discussed their problems with the missing
money. Daniel was furious when Amber revealed she teamed up with
Carson to get the money back. Amber explained that she wanted to find it so she
could get Cane and Katherine to love her again. Daniel relented and said
that she just needs to keep her friends in the loop. Daniel suggested they
search Ji Min's room.
Adrian visited Colleen at work at the GCAC. When Heather arrived, he quickly
persuaded Colleen to leave with him. After, Coll began moving her stuff into
his place, but they took a break from unpacking to kiss. When she stepped
out of the room, Korbel quietly hid an unseen object in one of his drawers.
After, they had sex, but as they relaxed in bed together, someone knocked on
the door. It was Lily. Colleen insisted on letting her in. She was stunned
when Lily told her about what Daniel and Amber had allegedly been doing. "I
wanted to hit her. I got so jealous and angry," Lily admitted. "Maybe it
wasn't his shirt," Adrian cut in, but backed off when the ladies gave him a
nasty look. Colleen admitted she was a wreck when she and J.T. broke up
(Adrian did not like this and loudly cleared his throat), but she pressed on
and assured Lily that time would heal all wounds. Later, they cheered up
Lily by engaging in a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit®. "What is the smelliest
member of the weasel family?" was Adrian's question to Lily. "My
ex-husband," she cracked. Colleen decided to host a divorce party for her
friend.
At Crimson Lights, J.T. picked up a huge order of food for a pregnant
Victoria (but no coffee, of course). While he waited to receive it, he
chatted with Cane. Cane revealed that someone has been stealing from the
Clear Springs site and asked J.T. to investigate.
At Newman, Sharon and Brad ran into each other in the elevator. They went to
the GCAC, asking Gina to find them someplace "private." Good luck with that!
Sharon confided in him about how upset she is about Jack's Jabot scandal.
Brad was surprisingly sympathetic to her plight. After, Jack found Brad and
Sharon at the restaurant. When Sharon stepped away, Jack told Brad that he
doesn't want him dining with Sharon again. Later, Jack made a call to
someone saying that he's eager to clear his name.
Amber and Daniel went to the GCAC to search Ji Min's room for the cash. They
were soon joined by Carson, but they made it clear he wasn't welcome. Carson
teased Amber and Daniel about being a couple, but they insisted that they
weren't together. After, Daniel pretended to take a call so they could split
up. Amber flirted with Carson so she could distract him.
Heather approached Adrian at the coffeehouse, but he pretended not to know
her. Heather revealed that she was the roommate of Macy, the student of
Adrian's who'd killed herself.... Colleen encouraged Lily to flirt with Cane
at the GCAC. She did and invited him to the divorce party. From across the
room, an upset Amber eyed the exchange. Later, Amber broke into the room and
found the cash hidden in a vent.
Thursday
At Crimson Lights, Michael informed Gloria that he was planning to get a plea bargain for Kevin, Daniel and Amber. Gloria didn't care about the fate of the "blond bimbo." Meanwhile, Amber debated (with an even less scrupulous version of herself) over what to do with the suitcase of money in Ji Min's former room. She considered using the money to cut a demo but then concluded that friendship was more important. Speak of the Devil, Daniel showed up and asked if Amber had found the money yet, while money-hungry Amber told real Amber to get rid of Daniel. Kevin called and asked them to come home to meet with Michael. While they headed out, Jeff entered the room next door.
Nikki told David that she was positive that Victor leaked the tape of Jack, while Jack tried to explain to Noah that someone created a fraudulent tape. Jack somehow got Noah to understand that people shouldn't believe everything they hear, just as ghost John showed up to make Jack nervous. John offered his two cents as Sharon berated him for spinning a web of lies. Once alone with Jack, John advised him that he doesn't have to lie.
David gave Nikki a silver cardholder, which he claimed would hold his hotel room key just right. "Perfect fit," she said, sliding it into the case. "Yes, it is. Just like us," he winked. Later, Nikki ran into Victor at the gym and remarked that he probably gets enough of an adrenalin rush ruining people's lives. An argument ensued, but Victoria stepped in and sent Victor packing. Nikki informed her daughter that she doesn't need to wait for Victor to come around because she already has someone who treats her with respect: David.
Michael informed his clients that the feds are seeking their money in one lump sum. Gloria showed up with some designer T-shirts for Kevin and shocked everyone with her announcement that she'll cover Amber's share of the stolen money. The trio was eternally grateful ... until Gloria informed Amber that she was giving her a loan. Amber refused to sign and took off, leaving Michael, Kevin and Gloria to bicker.
Back at his office, Victor received a visit from Victoria. She recalled that when her parents divorced when she was little, Victor gave her a magical plastic unicorn that seemed to make everything better. But Victor made it clear that he wasn't interested in the old unicorn or reconciling with her mother — just as Nikki used David's hotel-room key for the very first time. Over a bottle of champagne, David recounted their first meeting and admitted that he'd been crushing on her for months and it was her smile that dazzled him. It wasn't long after that they were hitting the sheets! After they made love, Nikki seemed to be very happy with her decision to use that hotel room key but slipped away and opened up a small folder of wallet-sized photos of her and her family, prompting her to flash back to some of the more sensitive moments in her marriage to Victor. She began to dial his number, then recalled one of their last cold arguments. He answered, but she remained silent.
When Carter tried to question Sharon about Jack at Crimson Lights, Noah told the persistent reporter to get lost. Later, Sharon asked Jack once again to come clean. He argued that if he did so, his political career would be history, and then he couldn't get all these wonderful bills to save poor people approved!
Amber returned to Ji Min's hotel room to find Carson smirking on the bed. She explained that she was there for the article she was writing and was staying overnight because she needed a break from her loudly belching male roommates. She threatened to call security, so he finally walked out. Carson ran into Jeff outside and joked that the lady inside turned him down because he ate both the chocolate mints on the pillows. Once alone, Amber talked to her imaginary double again when Gloria showed up at her door with a surprising offer to give her the money, no strings attached. Her double was as overjoyed as she was.
Friday
In the GCAC hotel room, Bad Amber argued with Good Amber over whether she
should keep the money she found. BA pointed out that if she has her own
money, Cane will realize that she wasn't after his. BA advised GA to
purchase fake money, mix it with some of the real money, and then burn it,
making it look as if the real money disappeared, while she took the rest. GA
was skeptical that this would work.
At Crimson Lights, Cane stopped by to say hello to Colleen and Lily. Coll
made sure that Cane was attending the divorce party; he was more than ready to celebrate
getting Amber out of his life. After he stepped away, Colleen noted that
Cane was checking out Lily. Colleen then imitated his Down Under accent, but
since portrayer Tammin Sursok is a fellow Aussie herself, really she was
just speaking with her true speech.... Jill and Cane ran into each other at
the GCAC gym. She told him that he's one of the few who has been able to make
her feel better. Later, Cane ran into Heather at the GCAC and he invited her
to the divorce party.
Amber headed to the coffeehouse and looked online for a place that sells
coins and shredded currency. Later, she returned to the hotel room and
prepared to burn the shredded currency. "I don't want to set the world on
fire," she said aloud. "Kind of sounds like a song title," chuckled Bad
Amber. Amber finally lit a couple of the bills on fire with a cigarette and
stuck them into the vent where the rest of the money was. The cash began to
smolder.
Nicholas called the prison, hoping to get them to allow him to speak with
Phyllis, but they wouldn't let him. Nick was angry that the prison was also
punishing the inmate's family members. He admitted to Victoria that he feels
guilty about getting his wife into trouble by pretending to be her lawyer.
Vicky offered to visit her when Phyllis's privileges are reinstated.
Nikki and David basked in the afterglow of their night together. He was
ready to order breakfast, but she just wanted to stay in bed with him. They
kissed. Meanwhile, Nick and Victoria tried to set up a family meeting.
Victor arrived, but Nikki said she couldn't make it because she was "in the
middle of something." Well, at least she didn't give the old Marcia Brady
excuse, "Something suddenly came up." After, the siblings agreed that at
this point, their parents probably wouldn't even benefit from marriage
counseling. Vicky was more concerned about how their parents marital
problems would affect Victor, especially with his health concerns. Nick
agreed to speak with Victor while Victoria planned to speak with Nikki.
After, Victor angrily left messages for Nikki; Nikki ignored them, but did
answer Victoria's call. Vicky insisted that Nikki join their meeting that
day. Niki didn't even want to be in the same room with her estranged husband.
While Nikki was on the phone with her daughter, David kept kissing her and
nuzzling her neck.... Nick tried again to appeal to the prison people on
Phyllis's behalf, but still, no luck. After, Victor met up with his kids at
the GCAC. He wondered where Nikki was. Nick replied that she couldn't make
it. Victor didn't hide his annoyance and insisted his children buy his
lunch. He told them he didn't have much hope that he and Nikki would make
amends, given that Nikki didn't seem to want to. Nick pointed out that
Victor alienated Nikki by supporting Jack and going overseas. Vic replied that
he supported Jack way before she decided to run for senate and that he went
overseas for personal reasons. Nick and Victoria stated that Nikki feels
abandoned; Victor answered that she hardly seems to be abandoned, given that
she's been busy "cavorting" with David.... In the hotel room, David urged
Nikki to stay with him in bed all day. They had to leave, though, when
Amber's money set off the fire alarm. Jill was trapped in the gym steam
room, but Amber let her out. Jill thanked Amber for saving her life.
