Young and Restless Recaps
Y&R Week of October 4, 2010
Monday
Post sex, Jack wanted to know how Phyllis felt about being more than just friends. "I gotta be honest, I'm kind of okay with it," Phyllis grinned. As Jack went to make coffee, Skye burst in to try and negotiate a retraction of the Restless Style article that trashed her. "Why would she do that? It's true," Jack interrupted. Skye accused Jack of setting her up. "I'm back on my game, so watch out," she warned before storming out. Jack acknowledged to Phyllis he wasn't above setting Sky up, and explained his and Victor's scheme to make Adam's hedge fund collapse. When he learned Phyllis was taking Summer to the harvest festival, Jack said he wanted to tag along. Nick arrived with Summer, who jumped into Jack's arms. After Jack left, Nick and Phyllis bickered about their respective affairs, then agreed to put Summer first. Jack came by later to pick up Phyllis and Summer and promised Summer he'd win lots of prizes for her.
"You have my heart," Adam told Sharon. She didn't want it, spat Sharon. "You know there is a connection between us," Adam pressed. He makes things up, Sharon shot back. Nick showed up and told Adam to get lost. He and Sharon finalized their plans to go to the harvest festival as Adam looked on. Later, Nick arrived at Sharon's with flowers.
Back home, Adam caught Skye on the phone looking for a game. She claimed she was on the phone with an investor. Adam cut short an argument to suggest they go to the harvest festival together. Skye donned heels and fur, to Adam's chagrin. "If you're going to make me wade through manure, I'm going to do it in style," Sky snapped.
At Crimson Lights, Kevin tried to cheer up a despondent Chloe. They have to let go of the past, counseled Kevin, as Jana eavesdropped. Kevin suggested they cheer themselves up by going to the harvest festival. "Chance took me there on our first day," sighed Chloe. At another table, Nick told Noah he had a date with Sharon, but his son was less than enthusiastic. "Don't do this for me," Noah insisted. "I really hope we can be family again," Nick said. On the way out, Noah ran into Jana, who invited him to the harvest festival.
Jeffrey was playing bookie at Gloworm when Gloria showed up, wondering what he was up to. Jeffrey summoned Kevin to look over the books. Noting Jeffrey's sloppy money laundering, Kevin wanted the details on the bookie operation, then reluctantly agreed to make a delivery. His eyes widened up when he peeked in the bag Jeffrey handed him and saw stacks of hundred dollar bills. "That's just the beginning, partner," chuckled Jeffrey. Gloria came in after Kevin left and smelled something fishy. Jeffrey let her think the bag Kevin had left with was a present for her. After Kevin called to report he'd made the drop, Jeffrey arranged for a delivery to Gloworm, asap. He presented Gloria with a stunning necklace, and covered about Kevin toting a Fenmore's bag. "You're the best partner a girl could ever have," purred
Gloria.
At the harvest festival, Noah admitted to Jana that he's been avoiding Michael and Lauren since breaking up with Eden. They're not fans of hers, either, sighed Jana. While Noah fetched her a candy apple, Jana approached Chloe but Chloe passed on Jana's offer to cheer her up. "You and me, not going to be friends," snapped Chloe, who then found Kevin. Upset to spot them hugging, Jana tried to make Kevin jealous by flirting with Noah. The two couples had an uncomfortable chat. Creepy Chloe bought a hat identical to the one Chloe picked out, and left.
Elsewhere at the festival, Sharon and Nick happily strolled around with Faith, Jack and Phyllis played games and laughed about the stuffed giraffe he won for Summer, and Skye hobbled grumpily on her heels and griped to Adam. Suddenly the three couples converged.
Tuesday
At the Harvest Festival, Kay expressed her concern to Victor about him and Nikki. He told his friend not to worry but shared his suspicion that Jack was helping Abby in her lawsuit that Victoria has joined. Kay opined that Victor's daughters could just want their independence and then decided to go on a mission of her own.
At the fair, Skye took an up-close picture of Phyllis and Jack. Phyllis shoved Skye's hand away and Adam grabbed Phyllis's arm. A protective Nick jumped in and ordered his brother to take his hands off of Phyllis. Skye ranted at Phyllis for the "libelous" article about the Newman Fund in Restless Style but Phyllis reminded that the story is true. Later, Adam asked why Skye took the photo of Phyllis and Jack. She explained she wanted to post it online to prove that they have an agenda and that's the reason for their "smear job" on the Newman Fund. Adam scoffed that no one cares, which ticked off Skye.
When Cane couldn't find out who sent the delivery of steaks, he freaked when Lily wanted to take the twins to the Harvest Festival. He suggested they go away to a cottage but Lily explained she needed to call Traci because it was the anniversary of Colleen's death. Cane suggested his wife to make her call while he went for take-out. After he left, Mac showed up for a visit. Lily shared that Cane's overprotectiveness is puzzling. Mac advised Lily to trust her instincts and that going away like Cane wants will give them a chance to talk things out.
At the ranch, a hungover Nikki staggered down the stairs, where Meggie innocently asked if she was sick with food poisoning or dehydration. Nikki admitted to feeling a lot of stress lately and Meggie urged her boss to take time out for herself. Victor showed up and asked Meggie to deliver his charitable donation to Katherine at the festival. After Meggie left, Victor admitted to Nikki that he felt her pulling away from him. She broke down in sobs and said that, despite his fresh start a year ago with Colleen's heart, Victor was "back to your old grudges and vendettas." Victor agreed to "fix" things.
J.T. presented his letter of resignation to Tucker, explaining he was
joining the police force as a consultant. Cane called and asked for J.T.'s assistance. Upon meeting up, Cane explained his fear that his family was in danger and J.T. was surprised to learn Cane hadn't told Lily about the threat. J.T. urged Cane to be truthful with his wife but Ashby claimed he could handle the situation. Cane returned home and was relieved to find Lily packing for their little trip.
Phyllis, Jack, Nick and Sharon were perturbed when Adam got everyone's attention at the fair so he could publicly present a big check to Murphy for the veteran's fund. Skye was just as miffed that Adam couldn't take his eyes off of Sharon, which wasn't lost on Nick. "That article was as much about Jack and me as it was about you and Sharon," Skye complained to Adam. "Now the public sees you making cow eyes at her. You look like a moron who can't handle his life, never mind people's money." Adam warned his wife not to push him too far.
Phyllis and Sharon exchanged barbs and Phyllis picked up a pie to throw at her rival but Jack showed up just in time to stop her.... Kay asked Tucker if he was behind Victoria and Abby's legal fight with their father. When Tucker said no, Kay warned, "If I find out you really are involved, I will back Victor, not you."... Back at their hotel room, Adam threw Skye on the bed and started kissing her passionately.
Meggie arrived at the fair and was horrified when she came face-to-face with Murphy. He recognized her too and gave chase when she ran off. When Murphy thought he lost Meggie, he called Victor to warn him. Meggie suddenly appeared and took away his phone. "I'm not gonna let it happen... not again," Murphy insisted but he was suddenly stricken with severe chest pains. He pulled a bottle of pills from his pocket but Meggie grabbed them away and laughed!
Wednesday
At the harvest festival, Kay was perplexed when she couldn't find Murphy at
the booth. Meanwhile, in the car, Murphy continued to clutch his chest in pain
and Meggie refused to hand over his pills. He passed out and she fled. Kay
searched for her husband and came across an unconscious Murphy in the car.
She called 9-1-1 and begged him to hold on.
At the GCAC, Tucker shared with Jack that Katherine warned that she would
side with Victor if it turned out that her son was involved with Abby and
Victoria suing their dad. Jack assured everything would work out and that
Tucker would acquire Beauty of Nature from Victor.
Cane and Lily arrived at the cottage, where she asked him if everything was
okay. He explained he couldn't relax and just enjoy his family because he
was afraid Fate would snatch all that happiness away. While Lily was taking
a bath, Cane heard a noise outside and he went to investigate. Later, a
police officer showed up to see if everything was okay after noticing the
cabin was inhabited. Cane admitted to hearing something and the cop said it
might just be some troublemaking boys in the area. Later, Lily found the DVD
marked "family pictures" and took a look at it. She was shocked by what she
saw. "What is this?" she demanded to know when Cane returned.
As Abby remembered Colleen on the first anniversary of her death, Ashley
urged her daughter to reconsider her lawsuit with Victor. Abby didn't want
to discuss that topic and headed to the hospital to donate blood. Ashley
decided to go along, too.
Meggie returned to the ranch and reported to Victor and Nikki that she left
the check with Katherine's husband. Kay called Nikki with the news that
Murphy was in the hospital due to a suspected heart attack. Meggie wasn't
happy to hear that the old guy survived. Nikki insisted that Meggie
come along to the hospital since she was the last one to see Murphy. Victor,
Nikki and Meggie arrived at the hospital in time to join Kay as she was
informed that Murphy had a stroke. Kay called Mac with the news and
asked her granddaughter to pick up her purse, which she'd left in
Murphy's car.
At the hospital, Abby and Ashley encountered Victor, who told them about
Murphy. Ashley called Tucker and he rushed over with Jack. It wasn't long
before Jack and Victor were sniping at each other, which set off Abby. "You
are so busy trying to get revenge on each other that you didn't care who you
used or who got hurt," Abby ranted. "I know that you guys didn't want
Colleen to die, but she did." Abby said she wanted to be nothing like Victor
or Jack, and her heartfelt words gave the others much to think about. After
Abby stormed out, Ash followed.
At the festival, Mac and J.T. checked out Murphy's car. J.T. was troubled by
mud tracked in on both sides of the front floor mats. Mac surmised that the
extra dirt was brought in by her grandmother but J.T. still felt unsettled.
Katherine told Tucker he needn't have bothered to come to the hospital....
Meggie sneakily asked a doctor if Murphy would recover but couldn't get a
firm answer.... Jack was surprised to see Meggie and learned that
she's been staying with Victor and Nikki for a while.... Mac and J.T.
arrived at the hospital, where he announced his suspicion that someone was
with Murphy when he became ill. Meggie peered into Murphy's room and
scowled.
Thursday
Jill returned from her trip at the day spa and encountered Tucker at the
G.C.A.C. He told her about Murphy's heart attack and stroke. Jill
was anxious to get to the hospital to be with Katherine. Tucker drove
her there and Jill offered her support to Kay, who scoffed that she had
plenty of friends for that ever since Murphy was admitted "hours ago!"
Jill's feelings were hurt and she was further wounded to learn that no one
bothered to contact her about Murphy's condition, yet Kay immediately called
Nikki. Tucker whisked a dejected Jill away.
At the hospital, Meggie overheard J.T. tell Victor that Murphy was found in
his driver seat but his cell phone was found outside on the passenger side.
J.T. also shared that an older couple had been mugged a couple days ago at
the festival and wondered if Murphy could've been a victim, too. J.T. then
met up with Ronan, who also felt unsettled by J.T.'s details about Murphy's
car. Ronan received a call with news that several witnesses had seen Murphy
rushing through the crowd as if he was chasing someone. Ronan also received
a text that a partial muddy boot print had been found on the passenger-side
floor mat of Murphy's car. Ronan wanted to interview Meggie since she was
the last one to talk to the old guy.
Jack was melancholy for upsetting Abby at the hospital and showed up at
Phyllis's place. She tried cheering him up with a hug and a grilled cheese
sandwich. Meanwhile, Abby, Billy and Ashley got together for Chinese
take-out to honor Colleen since she loved that cuisine. Billy wondered where
Jack was and Ashley explained their brother bowed out because, after making
a scene with Victor, he wanted Abby to have a little peace. Abby concurred
that was a good idea but that didn't stop Billy from ranting about Victor's
bullying behavior since he received Colleen's heart. Abby agreed.
After seeing the DVD, Lily demanded to know what was going on. Cane
confessed that the cattle rustlers he put in prison are out and looking for
revenge. Lily became upset that he endangered their lives by not telling her
right away about the threat; he said he was only trying to
protect his family. Lily softened and suggested they contact the police.
Cane explained his tormentors haven't done anything illegal yet. They heard
footsteps outside but it turned out to be Officer Whitcomb, who warned that
a storm was approaching and could interrupt their power.
Meggie cleaned her boots of mud, then packed to leave town. But after Ronan
and J.T. questioned her and revealed that Murphy may never recover, she
decided to stick around.... Back at the G.C.A.C., Tucker and Jill
commiserated about feeling frozen out by Kay. Abby walked in and
misconstrued their closeness... Jack and Phyllis agreed they were officially a
couple.... Ronan informed Kay that he believes Murphy wasn't alone when he
collapsed but she couldn't imagine anyone would want to intentionally hurt
him.... Meggie deleted a photo of her and Murphy from her phone, then vowed
he will never wake up.
Friday
At Crimson Lights, Abby called art consultant Mark Fletcher and convinced him to come to Daniel's art exhibit. Billy and Victoria overheard her
mention that the Naked Heiress would make an appearance so Victoria ordered
her sister to keep her clothes on. "You need to start taking this lawsuit
seriously, because the last time you took Dad to court, it was thrown out
because the judge didn't appreciate your obnoxious behavior," Victoria
reminded. Abby said she will be attired for the art show.
Jack and Victor converged at the hospital to check on Katherine but started
sniping at each other over their differing versions on family loyalty. Vic
insisted Jack is behind Abby's lawsuit and vowed he wouldn't settle out of
court. Kay walked in on the argument and Jack left. She advised Victor to
give his daughters their money and put and end to the family squabbling.
Victor explained, "It's not a question of money. It's a question of a lack
of respect." Still, Kay pushed him to settle their differences.
Nick asked his son if he wanted a job at Newman Enterprises but Noah said he
was more interested in doing something on his own. When he mentioned he was
headed to Daniel's art show, Nick said he'd tag along.
At the gallery, Daniel was touched that Phyllis, Kevin, Chloe and Devon
showed up for his exhibit. Everyone marveled at Daniel's creations. Fashion
designer Jeremy Scott arrived and declared that Daniel's artwork was an
inspiration for his next collection.... Abby entered and told Daniel that
Mark Fletcher was coming. Daniel was wowed, then upset when she added the
Naked Heiress would be part of his show. He grumbled that his art should be in the
spotlight, not her antics.... After Billy and Victoria arrived, he presented
her with a vintage diamond ring and also his own band that they can wear
over their finger tattoos.... Jack, Nick and Noah stopped by the gallery....
Mark appeared and Abby told him she wasn't going to perform her "wardrobe
malfunction" because Daniel's artwork can stand on its own..... Noah snarked
at Abby for her Naked heiress escapades and she countered, "What exactly is
it that you've done?".... Upon finding out that Noah plays guitar, Jana
convinced him to play and sing for everyone, which surprised Nick. Devon
urged Noah to record some music.... Kevin asked Chloe and Daniel if they
think that Noah is interested in Jana.... Mark offered to introduce Daniel
to some collectors in New York, thrilling the artist.
Victor came home and announced to Nikki that he wants to offer a settlement
to his daughters. Nikki was thrilled. Victor summoned Victoria
and Abby to the ranch and proposed, "I don't want to waste any more time fighting... It's a
waste of time. I want to make peace." Victoria turned him down, citing that
this was about freedom from his control and not money. The girls left and a
stunned Nikki suggested that she and Victor elope instead of have a family
celebration.
Billy went to the hospital and escorted Katherine to the cafeteria. Once Murphy was alone, Meggie slipped in and injected
something into his I.V. Meanwhile, Jack and Phyllis were smooching on the
front stoop of his house when they heard someone approach. Jack looked up
and said, 'Diane?" Phyllis was not happy.
