Monday
At the club, Nikki ran around trying to take care of Victor's appointments for him. He stopped her and asked what was going on with her. She wondered why he came looking for her the night she left Genoa City for Colorado. He replied that whenever he wants to talk about the future, she avoids it. "What future?" she asked. "The future you and I are meant to have," he said. She, of course, hurried off, but promised that she'd be back.
A contrite Victoria called J.T. in New York and apologized for fighting with him before he took off for his job interview. After, Victoria joined Michael at the G.C.A.C. and showed him that the media was writing about the S.E.C. investigating her. Katherine came over to say hello and advised Victoria not to lose sleep over getting attacked by the press. After, Victor came downstairs and found his daughter and Michael in the restaurant. Victoria asked Victor what he'd do about the press. Michael advised them not to go after the journalists or else she'd look guilty. Victoria argued that Newmans fight back. Victor suggested she not deal with the press when she's this angry and warned her that it would probably happen again. He then said that he's going to take over for her and deal with the media. Victoria refused. "I've earned the right to defend my own name," she insisted, but requested that her father give her his blessing.
Kay visited Nikki in Victor's suite. Kay was surprised when Nikki admitted that she keeps walking away whenever he wants to talk about their future. Kay urged her pal to get on with her life. She realized that Nikki and Victor could get it right this time or things could fall apart again, but believed that Nikki needed to "cut the crap" and stop waffling. Nikki said that she knows that her feelings for Victor have never changed, but if he chooses her, his choice comes with a price. Later, Victoria joined Nikki in the suite and admitted that things aren't going so well between herself and J.T., and that he wants her to make a choice between her marriage or the
company. Nikki realized that Victoria would lose either way, but reminded her that her family is the most important thing.... Victor told Michael that he's about to make some big changes in his life.
Emily and Paul went to Crimson Lights and joked about her having a "famous face." Paul acknowledged that Patty should've asked Emily before stealing her look. Emily understood that Patty didn't know what she was doing. Paul just wanted his sister back, but Emily explained that Patty might never be herself again. He asked Emily to stay in town and be Patty's doctor. Emily agreed to stay for a few more days.
At Restless Style, Billy continued to work on his last-minute exposé on Victor. Jack stopped by and asked Billy if he'd lost his mind. Billy revealed that he intended to skewer Victor. Jack was surprised, but Billy reminded him that Jack had written an expos about Victor and Sabrina. Jack read Billy's draft and agreed to help him with the article. Jack then dictated copy to him about Victor's insider trading. Billy stopped and angrily asked why Jack was willing to do this to Victor when he was all for letting Victor have Colleen's heart. Jack warned that if Billy goes after that angle, it'll make Victor look like a martyr. He also implored Billy to leave Patty out of it. Billy didn't think that Victor's business accounts would make a good story, but agreed to keep it the way Jack had written it. However, after Jack left, Billy began to rewrite his original story.
Jack ran into Emily at the coffeehouse. She asked him to stop visiting Patty because she believed that it was bad for her patient's health. Jack didn't think that Emily was ever going to cut him a break. "I'm afraid I won't," Emily acknowledged. He agreed to stay away from Patty but asked Emily to stop giving him the evil eye.
At Sharon's place, Adam confessed to Sharon about how he'd seduced, used and lied to Rafe. Sharon listened patiently and
promised not to judge. He regretted hurting Rafe and Heather. Sharon was very understanding and revealed that she had stolen things in the past and didn't even know who her baby's father was at first. "We've both paid the price. We've both done our time," she shrugged. "But we move on." She encouraged him to think about his new little sister and go from there. "How do you give me the
benefit of the doubt?" he asked, clearly touched by her compassion. Sharon suggested that they be each other's "bad choice" sponsor. He agreed and they shook on it. Later, Sharon went to Restless Style and helped Billy send a file. She then asked him for a job. He readily gave her one and they toasted to it.... Adam found Victor in the club and suggested that Victoria lay low and not handle the media. Victor basically ignored him and stepped away. Michael accused Adam of playing a game — and warned him that he's not going to let Adam get away with anything.
Tuesday
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis told Michael that she's about to sign a contract with Newman Enterprises, but she was unsure if she wanted to take the job since it's Victor's company. "When I look at the man, it makes my blood boil," she sighed, asking her friend for advice. Michael replied that he couldn't figure this out for her.
Meanwhile at the coffeehouse, Amber rambled on to Lauren about possible clothing line ideas. Lauren stopped her when Michael joined them, explaining that he needed to deal with Ryder's paper work. Lauren wished that Michael wouldn't help Kevin support Ryder since she didn't trust him. After, Lauren told Amber that the jackets Amber had designed for her boutique just aren't selling. Amber asked Lauren for a job, but Phyllis overheard and warned Lauren not to hire her. Amber and Phyllis exchanged words about Deacon; Amber reminded Phyllis that she'd gotten involved with Deacon to keep Daniel out of jail. Lauren asked Phyllis to back off of Amber. She then asked Amber if Deacon had ever said anything about Ryder. Amber replied that though Deacon never really spoke about Ryder, she still didn't trust him, either.
At Jana and Kevin's place, Jana was embarrassed when she ran into a half-dressed Ryder in the living room. Jana complained to Kevin that having Ryder stay with them just wasn't working. She then found an old photo of Ryder from a certain year and noted that Ryder looked a little like Kevin.
There was also a space where another person had been. Ryder was upset when he found Jana going through his things. She asked who was standing next to Ryder in the photo, but Ryder didn't know. Ryder became defensive and admitted that he's not used to living with people. After he and Kevin left, Jana looked at the photograph more carefully.
At Newman Enterprises, Victoria continued to seethe about the press going after her. Nick promised to stand by her, while Adam promised to get them the name of the person who ratted her out to the S.E.C. Adam flashed back to when he made the call about Victoria. After, Adam told Michael that he got the number of the person who made the call, but Michael didn't want to hear about it and accused him of wanting to gain points with Victor. Victoria and Nick then met with the stockholders and stated that their father was out of the hospital and in good health, so there was nothing to worry about. They were interrupted when Deacon arrived and asked to make a statement. He defended Victoria to the board, assuring them that if she said that Victor was getting better, then she meant it. After everyone filed out of the conference room, Deacon took a seat neat to her. Victoria wasn't sure why he wanted to help her. He said that he doesn't hold a grudge and just wanted to be friends. "We were never friends," Victoria told him.... Adam told Nick that he got the number of the person who made the call. Michael noted that whoever made the call could've borrowed someone else's phone. Michael and Nick suspected that Adam was behind it, but Nick didn't want to jump to conclusions.... J.T. arrived and punched Deacon. Nick suggested that his sister handle a business deal in South America while her problems with the S.E.C. blow over. She angrily told J.T. that him punching Deacon made it look as if Deacon defending her was personal. J.T. informed her that he was offered the job in New York and asked her to join him there.
Amber paid Jana a visit and they took out the Ouija board. Amber asked the board how long it will take before her career takes off. "Dead," the board answered. Amber decided that that answer didn't count. "Will Daniel love me forever?" she next asked. "Dead," the board repeated, to Amber's chagrin. Jana then asked who the missing person was in Ryder's photo. "Dead," the board said a third time. The ladies concluded that the board meant that the person was Terrible Tom. The board then began moving the pointer by itself.
At Crimson Lights, Ryder helped Kevin out. Lauren was less than friendly to Ryder, however. Kevin pleaded with her to give his brother a chance. Ryder approached Lauren and assured her that Kevin wouldn't regret giving him a second chance. Later, Deacon stopped by for some coffee, but Kevin and Ryder were cold toward him. Lauren invited Kevin, Jana and Ryder over for dinner.
Ashley was startled when Victor arrived at the Newman Ranch unannounced. He explained that he just wanted to visit the baby. Ashley reminded him that this is now her home and asked if he could call first and not just barge in. Victor didn't like the idea of having to schedule visits. "I own this damn place. I come and go as I please," he reminded her. Ashley tried to keep calm as she stated that all she wants is for him to treat her and their daughters with respect. Victor softened and apologized for upsetting her. He assured her that all he wanted to do was see her and the girls, but agreed to give Ashley her space. Later, Phyllis came by and admired little Faith, noting how she looks like a Newman. Ashley confided that the cost of being a Newman was high and she didn't want her daughters experiencing the dark side of being one of them. Phyllis wasn't sure it was possible to avoid that, given what had happened to Summer.
Victor met with Michael at the G.C.A.C. and shared that he's concerned about Ashley's well-being. He planned to leave town for a while so he could go to a cardiac rehab facility. He was confident that Nick and Victoria would do a good job running Newman, but Michael was surprised when he stated that he wanted Adam to have more to do at the company. Michael admitted that he didn't trust Adam. Just then, Adam stopped by Victor's suite and informed his father that the call to the S.E.C. came from inside the office. Victor eyed the phone records, but couldn't believe that any of his assistants
would betray him. Michael stepped outside and gave Phyllis a call, informing her that Victor's going to be leaving town. Baldwin then called Nick and told him that Adam got the number of the person who made the call.... Phyllis got Michael's message and told Ashley about Victor's plans.... Nick joined everyone in Victor's suite and shared his concerns about Victoria. He was also wary about working with Adam, but Victor wanted to give Adam a chance to redeem himself. "And if he uses that to stab us in the back again?" asked Nick. "That would not be a good idea," Victor warned.
Wednesday
Noah and Nick arrived at the Ranch so that Noah could say goodbye to Ashley and Abby. They were excited for him to get a fresh start by moving in with Sharon. When they left, Ashley sat down with Abby to inform her that her father would not be coming home — they were divorcing. Abby was upset by the news and implored her mother to work things out. When Ashley refused, Abby stormed out to see her father.
Sharon was delighted when Nick and Noah showed up with Noah's boxes. Nick spied a framed photo of Cassie and he and Sharon began reminiscing. Their discussion turned to Victor and how, despite his faults, he would do anything for his family. Noah entered with a copy of Restless Style that he had picked up when he stopped for gas. The three were upset about the Victor expose'. Nick rushed out to confront Billy, and Sharon informed Noah that she would quit the job she had just taken with Restless Style.
At his hotel room, Victor announced to Nikki that he was leaving Genoa City for a rehab clinic. "So I've chased you away, have I?" inquired Nikki. Victor invited her to come along with him. "If I have to spend all my time there staring at four walls of a hospital without being distracted by your beautiful face, I'll go nuts!" he declared. She agreed to go, if it was okay with the children. She made it clear, however, that she would just be there to see him through his recovery. Victor accused her of avoiding the subject of their future together. He grabbed her shoulders and told her that she had been right when she had declared to be the only woman he had ever truly loved. He tearfully pulled her into a lip lock just as Abby burst through the door. "SHE is the reason you and Mom are getting a divorce?" she cried. Ashley arrived a minute later. Nikki excused herself, just as Abby began hurling accusations. Ashley interrupted and instructed her to just accept their divorce and that they had private reasons for seeking it. They assured her that they would be parents to both her and Faith together. Abby wasn't buying it, and left. Victor informed Ashley about his plans to go away. He said that upon his return, he would take a more active role in his children's lives. After Ashley left, Nicholas arrived to show his father the expose' in Restless Style. Victor was sure that Billy hadn't acted alone. "Jack!" Nicholas spat. Nikki returned to Victor's room, and was shocked about the article. Nick demanded to know what his father planned to do about it, but Victor said he had no intention of retaliating. Nick said that though his father was not going to take action, there was "no way in hell" he was going to let it go. After he left, Victor wanted to get back to discussing the future with Nikki. She began to protest, but was taken off guard when Victor pulled out a large sparkling engagement ring.
At the coffeehouse, Gloria and Jeffrey came across a copy of Restless Style with Victor on the cover. They gleefully sat down to read the article. After reading about Victor's underhanded financial dealings, they schemed to sue Victor to reclaim the fortune they had lost in the bank collapse.
Michael and Lauren arrived at Kevin's apartment for the "Welcome to the Family" party for Ryder. Jana got Lauren alone and told her about the picture she had found of Ryder as a child. The two women agreed that Ryder must be hiding something. They discussed ways to make Ryder open up. Ryder and Kevin arrived and everyone sat down for appetizers and to wait for Gloria and Jeffrey. Ryder commented that the food was much better than what he had eaten in prison. Jana and Lauren began questioning Ryder about his past. His answers satisfied them temporarily, but Lauren pressed on. "Tell me about your mother," she queried. He admitted that he didn't know much about his mother, as she had left him with Terrible Tom at a very young age. He stated that he had believed he was an only child until he met Kevin. Just then Jana received a phone call saying that the espresso machine had broken at the coffeehouse. Ryder volunteered to go help out. He couldn't escape fast enough. Gloria and Jeffrey arrived with a copy of Restless Style and announced to Michael that he would make them very rich once again. Michael tried to refuse to represent them in their lawsuit against Victor, but Gloria talked him into it. Mac arrived, wanting to talk to Kevin about Billy. Kevin wondered if Mac should continue to make excuses for Billy. She mused that perhaps she should leave him.
Abby went to the coffeehouse and ordered a drink from Ryder. She flirted with him, but he wasn't interested. "How old are you?" he asked. When she responded that she was eighteen, Noah showed up and shot her down. "Funny how two weeks ago you were fourteen," he deadpanned. Abby was angry at Noah for embarrassing her, but he explained that he was protecting her. "If everyone else can do whatever they want without worrying about the consequences, so can I!" she raged. Ryder went into the back room and made a call. "It's all going as planned," he snarled into the phone.
Chloe arrived at Restless Style and congratulated a smug Billy on the newest issue. Billy's smile didn't last long, however, when Mac burst in and demanded to know what Billy had done. She was not impressed with his explanations and was furious that he had trashed the man that Traci had chosen to receive Colleen's heart. Chloe stood up for Billy, who was shocked that Mac was siding against him. An angry Mac left. Sharon and Ashley arrived, both steaming mad at Billy. "THIS is how you spent my money?" Ashley shrieked. "By attacking the father of my children?" Billy explained that the issue would generate huge profits, which would enable him to pay her back faster. "Your money-driven decision is going to hurt a lot of people, little brother!" she exclaimed. Meanwhile, Chloe cornered Sharon and commented that she just couldn't seem to get enough. "Not with Nick ... or Billy ... or Jack ... hmmm, is there someone I'm forgetting?" she snarked. Sharon informed Chloe that she was there to give her notice. A fuming Nicholas entered and announced to Billy that, although he couldn't take the magazine back, he still owned the building. "You have fifteen minutes to pack your stuff and get out!" he demanded of a stunned Billy. "You mess with my father, you mess with me!"
Thursday
Nikki and a recovering Victor woke up together and happy. Victor was grateful for the gift of life and assured Nikki that he wasn't going anywhere. He looked forward to taking things, "One step at a time — and together." Nikki was concerned about leaving the kids and taking the recuperation trip with Victor. "This feels so right," Victor smiled. They agreed to go to Newman and inform the children of their plans.
At Restless Style, Billy called Mac to plan his Halloween party. Nick arrived and ordered Billy to vacate the premises. Billy complied but said it would take time. Nick gave him until the end of the day. After Nick left, a source gave Billy a tip about J.T.'s fight with Deacon. Billy decided to investigate Mr. Jones. Billy met with Deacon and showed him the picture of J.T. punching out Deacon. Billy asked for details. Deacon provided none, but Billy said he got the idea and headed for the Athletic Club, where he bribed a maid. She said she saw Victoria leaving Deacon's room on several occasions. Billy went back to the office and wrote an article exposing Victoria's affair with Deacon.
At Newman, Adam told Victoria that he'd like to take on more responsibilities. Under siege with the SEC investigation, Victoria was short with him. Nick arrived, still angry with Billy. Adam commented that he understood Billy's need for "justice," but said it would come back to bite
him. After Adam left, Victoria got news that her case with the SEC was looking up. When Nick brought up Deacon, Vicki chalked it up to, "a misunderstanding."
At Crimson Lights, Jack and Ashley argued over Billy's article about Victor. A furious Katherine, wielding a copy. Jack reasoned that there was nothing they could do about it now. The subject of Ashley going back to Jabot came up but Ash quickly excused herself from the table. Jack went after Ashley and she told her brother that she wasn't planning to go back to work. She also mentioned that Victor was leaving town. Jack was surprised by the news. Ashley vowed that she was focusing on herself now.
Victor went to Colleen's grave, laid down a single red rose and said a prayer. He then went home and made a videotape for the baby. In a flashback-filled sequence, Victor recounted his life story to his child.
Nikki had tea with Katherine, who admired Nikki's new emerald and diamond ring. Katherine said that she knew that Nikki and Victor were not finished, citing their lifetime of always coming back to each other. Nikki invited Kay to join her when she and Victor make their announcement to the kids. Katherine happily agreed.
Later, Nikki called Victor from Newman. The clan had gathered. Victor finished up his videotape with a touching declaration of love to his child and headed out. He arrived at Newman, as the family waited anxiously for Victor and Nikki's announcement.
Friday
At the tack house, Phyllis read Billy's story about Victoria and Deacon online and showed it to Nick. "That bastard," Nick erupted. Phyllis said she wanted to hurt Billy. Just then, Adam showed up with papers for Nick to sign. Nick was angry that Adam would not back off when it came to the family business and proclaimed that his brother would never have what was his. Adam just smiled. Phyllis called the press to make sure they knew that Nick and Phyllis were no longer a part of Restless Style. As they prepared to take Summer trick-or-treating, Nick was inundated with calls from the press about the article on Victoria.
In her office, Victoria was happy that her mother and father had found their way back to each other. Vicki then confided to her mom about her affair with Deacon. Nikki advised her daughter to fight for her marriage. Just then, J.T. returned from his trip. Nikki bade her farewells and left the kids to discuss their marital discord. Victoria assured J.T. that she wanted him, not Deacon. Just then, Deacon barged in and said, "This can't wait." Victoria was crushed when she saw the piece and ran out. Deacon left. Alone, J.T. wrote Victoria a goodbye letter, saying that he was taking the out-of-state
job.
Billy was thrilled to hear that the latest Restless Style broke all sales records, but then Jack, furious that Billy included Patty in the Victor article, proclaimed, "You've spit in my face one too many times, little brother." Jack barked that he was through with helping Billy out of his scrapes and stormed off.
Victor visited Abby and Ashley and informed them that he was leaving town. Abby was upset but Victor promised he'd be back soon. Abby left and Victor and Ashley discussed their tattered relationship. Ashley noticed that Victor had changed his priorities after his brush with death. Just then, Jack showed up. Victor avoided picking a fight with his rival. Ashley told Jack that she couldn't believe Victor got back with Nikki. Just then, she realized Abby left without her cell phone and rushed out to take it to her. Alone with Victor, Jack bantered with his foe. "Weren't you going to say good-bye?" Jack mocked. "I've been waiting to say good-bye to you for years," Victor grinned. Jack then shared that setting Victor up brought him great joy.
As Billy's Halloween party got underway, Chloe and the baby showed up. The tension with Chloe and Mac was palpable. Kevin arrived to tell Mac that he and Jana would not be attending due to their dislike of Mac's boyfriend. Kevin once again asked Mac to dump Billy but she remained steadfast in her belief in her beau.
At home, Sharon greeted trick or treaters and fondly remembered Halloweens past with Cassie and Noah. Adam showed up in a fox mask, asking, "Trick or treat?" Adam fondly recalled his own Halloweens with his late mother. He
and Sharon shared some wine. When the doorbell rang, Adam opened it to find Nick, Phyllis and Summer. Nick was not pleased.
Ashley and Nikki ran into each other at Crimson Lights. The women were civilized but Ashley did say that she couldn't believe that Nikki would want Victor back after everything he did. Ash then was dismayed that she couldn't find Abby.
With fake IDs in hand, Abby and her gal pal sneaked into Billy's party. Victoria showed up and punched Billy in the face.
Back at the ranch, Nikki arrived and tried to keep Victor and Jack apart. Jack told Nikki that she made the wrong choice by picking Victor over Paul. Victor then told Jack that when he returned to Genoa City, he planned to get revenge on his enemy. "You ain't seen nothing yet," Victor snarled.
