Y&R Week of November 30, 2009
Monday
At the Abbott cabin, Phyllis and Summer took a walk into the woods where Phyllis hammered something onto a tree. Ashley arrived with baby Faith and was surprised to see Phyllis and Nick there, but a returned Phyllis explained that Jack gave them the key. Summer asked if she could hold the baby; Ashley allowed her and Nick helped her hold her properly. Phyllis asked Ashley if they could stay for a few more minutes; she then took Nick into the woods and presented him with a plaque she had made in his and
Sharon's baby honor. A touched Nick became emotional as he thanked his wife for the thoughtful gift.... Ashley held Faith and assured the baby that she'll always love her.... At home, Nick told Phyllis that he feels like he can move on from his baby's death.
Jack was horrified when he spied Adam and Sharon kissing in her home. He barged in and demanded to know what Adam was doing. Jack warned Sharon that getting "mixed up" with Adam is a bad idea and called Adam a sociopath. Sharon was furious with Jack for saying that, but Jack explained that he wasn't jealous and didn't believe that Adam was a good person. Adam noted that Jack's marriage to Sharon ended because Jack was a liar. Sharon angrily kicked out Jack. He left with this warning for Adam: "If I hear that you have hurt this woman in any way, whatever hell you suffered at Victor's hands is gonna feel like heaven when I'm through with you."
At the Fisher-Baldwin Thanksgiving, Daisy and Ryder discussed her being in a photo of his. He assured her that her face was blurry in it.... Michael and Lauren told Daniel and Amber not to panic about the murder case. Michael promised to help Daniel, but Daniel thought he could help himself. He then questioned Ryder about the murder, but Ryder insisted that he wasn't hiding anything. Amber joined in and Kevin accused them of ganging up on his brother. A fight almost broke out, but Lauren stopped it and explained to Kevin that Ryder won't let anyone get to know him. Jana suggested they keep the peace, but still get the information they need for Daniel. Kevin gently told Ryder that he's learned the hard way that hiding the truth will get him nowhere. He asked Ryder who was in the car with him the night of the murder. Just then, Daisy burned herself while making the dessert and let out a
scream. In all the commotion, Ryder ducked out. Kevin later found him in Crimson Lights and was disappointed that Ryder was putting Kevin between his brother and his friends. Ryder was then served with court papers. He explained that he wasn't ready to share the details of his life with people he doesn't know well, but promised to do what he could to help prove Daniel's innocence.... Amber promised to stand by her husband and assured Daniel that they'd handle whatever happened. Daniel tried to keep her spirits up by joking about having to learn a particular skill in jail.
Jack stopped by the tack house and asked to speak with Nick about Adam, but Nick asked if they could talk about it later... Adam noted that Jack was just being protective, but Sharon thought her ex-husband was out of line. Sharon believed that something real was happening between her and Adam and kissed him. She led him upstairs. Things heated up between them and Adam said that he loves Sharon.
Ashley admired the plaque by the cabin and felt sadness for Sharon and Nick. She believed that their baby's spirit lived on in her daughter.
Tuesday
Sharon and Adam awoke together. He wanted to discuss when he'd said, "I love you," to her, but she asked not to talk about anything too serious. Noah then called for his mom. Sharon didn't want her son to know about her new relationship. She went downstairs and joined Noah, who wondered why she was acting so odd, but she assured him that nothing was wrong. After he left, Adam came downstairs and she invited him to stay. He again brought up what he'd said, but Sharon again evaded the conversation. Adam persisted and explained that when he said he loved her, he got caught up in the moment. "What I meant was, I love being with you," he said. Sharon was visibly relieved and thanked him for clearing the air.
Nick again thanked Phyllis for putting up the plaque for Faith. Phyllis noted that it took a lot of courage for Nick to hold Ashley's baby.
At the Abbott cabin, Ashley sang a song to baby Faith. Jack arrived and was surprised to find her up there. He didn't think she should isolate herself, but she replied that she just wanted to clear her head and that she was fine. Jack wasn't so sure and feared that something could happen to her, like an accident. Ashley urged him to get his own life and stop trying to rescue her and Sharon all the time. Jack revealed that he'd walked in on Sharon kissing Adam and called Adam a "bad man." Ashley defended Adam.
At Crimson Lights, Amber was concerned about the grand jury. Daniel encouraged her to be strong for him. He wondered if anyone else had been subpoenaed. After, Daniel and Michael visited Phyllis and filled her in. Phyllis feared that Daniel would go to jail, but Michael had hope that they could find the real killer. Phyllis wanted to go with her son when he testified, but Michael said that she couldn't do that.
Victoria, J.T. and Reed dined at the G.C.A.C. Victoria was served papers and asked to testify at the grand jury. Deacon, who was also at the club, was served, as well. J.T. assured her that there was nothing to worry about. She then revealed that she was planning to go back to work and was annoyed when J.T. noted that Reed would have more "nanny time." She insisted that she could make time for work and her child.
Paul and Emily met at the coffeehouse, where she told him that there hadn't been much progress with Patty. He was more concerned that Patty would lose the gains she's made and asked how long Emily and Jack had been dating. Emily didn't want to discuss it, but Paul couldn't believe that she'd get involved with Abbott. She argued that she's entitled to a personal life and
wouldn't give up on his sister. She promised that Patty wouldn't find out about her and Jack, but Paul still thought it was a bad idea.
Nick and Victoria met at the club and she shared her concerns about being called to testify. Nick asked if she was jealous of J.T.'s new job. She admitted that she is a little envious, but was more nervous about having to discuss her affair with Deacon with the jury. After, Noah joined Nick at the club and Nick told him about Phyllis's plaque. Nick was glad that Noah was living with Sharon and noted that it hadn't been an easy year for her.
Amber ran into Deacon at Jimmy's and he showed her the papers he'd been given. He was furious and warned her that she and Daniel were out of luck.... Victoria found Heather at the coffeehouse and asked why she had to testify. Heather reminded her that Vicky was in the alley the night of the murder..... Phyllis joined Deacon at Jimmy's and tried to find out how he convinced Ryder to pin the murder on Daniel. Deacon insisted that he didn't
know anything. Phyllis warned him not to mess with her. After she left, Deacon called someone and said that he was tired of taking the heat for that person's schemes.
Sharon and Adam continued to enjoy spending time together. She admitted that she's not ready for anything that serious yet. Adam replied that he isn't, either. They liked that they were able to openly talk about it without it being awkward. Noah soon returned and was surprised to see Adam there, but not too disturbed. Adam left before Noah could figure anything out. Sharon smiled as she remembered their evening together. Nick then stopped by and asked if they could talk. He informed her of the plaque that was put up in Faith's honor. Sharon didn't like the idea of anyone being able to walk by and see the plaque since their mourning was private. She was also upset that he and Phyllis had made the decision to hang it without her, and asked Nick to leave.... Ashley took Faith into the woods and stopped by the plaque for a moment before heading back into the cabin.
Jack met up with Emily at the club and she filled him in on her conversation with Paul. She agreed to go on another date with Jack, but said that it wasn't serious. Jack had other ideas.
Adam ran into Heather at the coffeehouse, but he tried to ignore her. She apologized for some of the things she'd said to him and he replied that he's moved on.... Michael then arrived and insisted to Heather that Daniel is innocent. Heather disagreed.... Daniel asked Amber why she'd spoken to Deacon. She believed that Deacon could "fix" everything. Phyllis found Amber and suggested that she and Daniel leave the country together. However, Daniel believed that everything would be fine.
Wednesday
Katherine and Neil met to discuss her plans to go forward with making Chancellor Industries public. Neil was surprised and wary when Kay brought in Kevin to work with them. Kevin promised that he'd keep everything they did confidential and thanked Kay for having so much faith in him.
Jeffrey and Gloria quizzed Michael about Chancellor's stock and implored him to do some digging for them. Michael showed them the door. "What now, Buttercup?" Jeff wondered. "On to Plan B," shrugged Glo. After, Gloria called Kevin and invited him to join her and Jeff at the G.C.A.C. so they could celebrate his new job at Chancellor. He reluctantly agreed.... Neil expressed his concerns to Kay about Kevin working with them, but she believed that Kevin was a good addition to their team.... Kevin joined Jeff and Glo, who questioned him about Chancellor. He realized that they were trying to get the inside scoop and refused to snoop around for them.
Victoria and J.T. met at Crimson Lights, where she informed him that Heather has refused to move her from the grand jury list. She also shared that Nick doesn't think she should go back to Newman in the home office. J.T. was interrupted when he got a call from work, which frustrated Victoria. Once he was off, she told him about Kay's plan to take Chancellor public and was interested in buying in on the stock.
At the Chancellor Estate, Chance asked Esther for her help in doing something special for Chloe... Chloe and Billy were busy at work at Restless Style. He showed her the cover he planned to put together, which featured a young woman who Chloe called a "one-woman Peace Corps." Chloe accused her ex of using the magazine as a way to win back Mac and stated that Billy is obsessed with Mackenzie. Billy didn't want to hear it, but Chloe went on and called him deluded, noting that a cover wouldn't change Mac's mind about having Lily and Cane's baby. Chance later surprised Chloe at work. Before leaving, Chloe told Billy that she's behind him doing the cover if he thinks it'll help the magazine, but she doubts that it will get Mac to make up with him. Later, Billy left Mac a voicemail, asking her to stop by the office.
Mac informed Lily and Cane that the embryo transfer was scheduled for the next day. They were thrilled, and met with Michael to discuss the legalities involved in surrogacy, which included Mac agreeing to not seek custody. Michael explained that at the moment of birth, the child would be Lily and Cane's in every way. Lily stated they want Mac to be involved with the child, especially if Lily didn't survive the cancer. Michael warned that life tends to throw curves that no one can anticipate. Lily and Cane insisted that they'd never cut Mac out. Later, Cane and Lily discussed how calm Mac had been during their meeting with Michael. Lily picked up a music box and recalled how much she loved dancing with Drucilla when she was alive. They looked forward to becoming parents, but Lily realized that the transfer might not even take. Still, she wanted to pretend that they'd get everything they want, as long as it was still a possibility.
Chloe and Chance returned home and he informed her that he's getting a pin and plaque for his act of bravery. Chloe was ecstatic for him. He added that the ceremony was that day and invited her to join him ‹ and presented her with a bunch of dresses sent by Lauren. She picked a blue dress, while Chance wore his uniform. He asked her to stand with him for photos at the ceremony and she
accepted. "I've never been the girl that the guy wants in the picture," she said quietly. "Well, now you are," he assured her.
Neil was pleased to run into Victoria at the coffeehouse. He invited her to join Chancellor, but she turned him down.... Michael offered to help get Gloria off Kevin's back about Chancellor. He then lied to the Bardwells that Chancellor Industries was buying a nanotech firm near Berlin, which would triple the company's stock prices. Jeff and Glo were intrigued. Michael swore them to secrecy.... Neil met with Kay, who informed him that they've been approved by the S.E.C. Neil reminded her that she was putting 25 percent of her company up for sale and suggested she get any second thoughts out of the way. Kay was confident that she was doing the right thing. Neil agreed and they celebrated.
Mac went to Restless Style to see Billy. He filled her in on his cover idea, and she was pleased. Mac then told him that the embryo transfer was the next day. Billy kept his cool and tried to be supportive as he asked how she was feeling. She replied that she's excited, but scared that the transfer wouldn't take. He was confident that he wouldn't let Cane and Lily down. Mac
was grateful for his support and kissed him.
J.T. got a call from a mystery man, who told him, "It's official. Chancellor is in play."

Thursday
At Crimson Lights, Kevin pleaded with Ryder to say something in his grand jury testimony that will get Daniel off the hook for the murder. After, Ryder admitted to Jana that he can't say what Kevin wants. Jana wasn't surprised and suggested that he prove that he's not a con man. She then asked who the woman was in the car with Ryder the night of the murder, but he wouldn't divulge anything. Jana wondered if the mystery woman would defend and protect him the way Kevin does.
At the courthouse, Heather made a call to one of her colleagues. Michael overheard her say that she's already planned to have Daniel arrested because she was that confident that he would be indicted. Michael accused her of being biased and working behind her boss's back instead of following procedure. He believed that she wanted Daniel to be arrested since he's Nick's stepson and she hates the Newmans. Heather denied it.
At Phyllis's, Daniel joked about having his last meal, which upset Phyllis and Amber. Amber told him about Phyllis's idea for them to leave the country. Daniel didn't like it and stormed out of the tack house. Phyllis blasted Amber for opening her mouth.
Mac and Billy discussed her upcoming embryo transfer. Mac asked if he could really support her through it. He thought it was a lot of ask, given his history with Cane, but agreed to be there for her. Kelly showed up at the Restless Style office and said that she's leaving town, but invited Billy to join her again during Christmas. Billy squirmed as Kelly gave him her number. Realizing Billy had slept with the other woman, Mac didn't want to hear his excuses. "The man that I love doesn't exist anymore," she said. "I am so sad for you. You know how to make yourself feel better, but you have no idea how to be happy."
Kay, Murphy, Nina and Jill attended Chance's medal ceremony. Nina continued to complain about Chloe dating Chance, but Kay urged her to give Chloe the benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, Chloe was the picture of a proud girlfriend as Chance was awarded his medal for his bravery during the stabbing. Chance invited Chloe up on stage and she happily joined him for photos. Later, they returned home to the Chancellor Estate and a beaming Jill raised a toast to her grandson. Nina joined in and called her son, "amazing." Chance thanked everyone for being there, especially Chloe, and publicly stated how much it meant having her at the ceremony. Nina did her best to suppress her disdain. Later, Chance went to call Phillip, while Chloe had a heart-to-heart about Chance with Kay. Chloe thanked Kay for encouraging her to be open about her feelings for him.
Daniel went to the coffeehouse and argued with Kevin about Ryder. Kevin was confident that Ryder would come through for Daniel, but Daniel didn't trust him. Kevin assured Daniel that if Ryder didn't help him out then he's lost a brother.... Michael warned Phyllis and Amber that Daniel could be arrested fairly quickly and might not get bail. Amber asked what would happen if they went to another country. Michael implored them to not even consider it. Phyllis was willing to do anything to help Daniel, but refused to sit back and let him go to prison. Michael promised to do whatever he can.... Daniel questioned Ryder about Deacon, and how Deacon knew Elkins. A defensive Ryder insisted that he wasn't sure how they knew each other. Daisy joined them and accused Ryder of being the one who'd sent the rat to Lauren. Ryder lied that Daisy doesn't even know him. Jana still didn't trust Ryder, but Kevin was optimistic that everything would work out.... Daisy pretended to read a book at the coffeehouse, but was really talking to Ryder on her cell phone; she wanted to instruct him on what to say in front of the grand jury. He didn't want her input.... Daniel returned home and Phyllis apologized to Amber for suggesting they leave town. Phyllis reported that Michael had something up his sleeve.... Michael approached Heather at the courthouse and
tried to blackmail her into giving him information on the grand jury. Heather replied that she didn't care if he told her boss about her putting out the arrest warrant.
Chloe arrived at Restless Style to get her purse and found a distraught Billy. He asked if she could buy him a drink to cheer him up, but she turned him down. "I just don't love you anymore," she stated.
Friday
Adam ran into Heather at Crimson Lights. He informed her that he's moved on with another woman and asked Heather to stop saying that he's gay. Meanwhile, an upset Sharon thought about her argument with Nick over the plaque Phyllis had made for Faith. Sharon typed out an apology e-mail to Nick, acknowledging that she overreacted and invited him to stop by.... Nick discussed the plaque with Noah and realized that he should've spoken with Sharon. He planned to apologize to her.
Victoria confided in J.R. about how worried she was about testifying to the grand jury. J.T. bristled when she admitted that she was mainly concerned about Heather bringing up her affair with Deacon.... Deacon approached Amber at the coffeehouse and taunted her about Daniel, so Jana kicked him out..... Phyllis met up with Daniel at the courthouse. She assured her son that he wouldn't go to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Kevin joined them and
Phyllis asked where Ryder was. He was sure that Ryder would arrive, but Phyllis wasn't. Michael suggested that Daniel plead the Fifth Amendment when questioned. Amber wasn't sure it was a good idea. Michael explained that the more Daniel speaks on the record, the worse off he'll be. Amber feared that it would come off as if Daniel had something to hide, but Phyllis urged him to listen to Michael. Baldwin informed him that the D.A.'s office is so sure of an indictment that an arrest warrant has already been issued. Ryder arrived and wished Daniel luck.
Jack met with Katherine at the G.C.A.C. so they could discuss him getting in on the Chancellor deal. Kay told him to keep his pitch brief. Instead, Jack gave Kay the letter she'd once written to John congratulating him when he broke ground on his first Jabot building. Kay became emotional as Jack reminded her how much the company had meant to John when he was alive. Kay relented and let Jack in. He promised her that she wouldn't regret her decision and admitted that he still felt guilty for losing Jabot. Kay hoped that having a piece of the company back would give him peace.
Adam arrived at Sharon's with flowers. She told him that she likes him a lot, but feels like their relationship is moving too fast for her. He agreed to do whatever makes her feel comfortable. While she went to put the flowers in water, Adam spied her laptop open with the e-mail to Nick — and hit "send." Meanwhile, Sharon promised to have Adam over for dinner, but just as he was about to leave, he kissed her passionately. Sharon kissed him back... as Nick replied to the e-mail saying that he's on his way.
J.T. and Victoria went to the courthouse. J.T. got a call from his boss, Tucker McCall, instructing him to "Do it now." Victoria wasn't happy that her husband had to take off.... Deacon joined everyone at the courthouse and started in with Daniel. Daniel went to punch him, but Michael held him back. Phyllis took Deacon outside and poured her drink on him. Heather called Deacon to the stand and refused to let him change his clothes. "I thought he looked better damp," Phyllis quipped.... Victoria joined everyone after she made her testimony. She assured Daniel that she told Heather what a good guyhe is, but wasn't anxious to discuss the rest. Deacon saw her in the hallway and asked if she mentioned their affair, but she pushed past him and left. Heather then began to question Daniel — and he kept refusing to answer
anything. Heather became frustrated and fired off a bunch more questions at him. Daniel still wouldn't answer them, but was clearly becoming shaken. When she asked him about firing the gun, Daniel blurted out that there was a third man in the alley that night. Heather asked who the man was, but Daniel couldn't identify him. She noted that without an I.D., they couldn't prove he existed. Daniel confessed to picking up the gun after Elkins was shot.... Jana, Kevin and Ryder went to the coffeehouse. They wanted to know what Ryder said in his testimony, but he didn't want to discuss it.... After finishing up with Heather, Daniel shared that he got freaked out and ended up not following Michael's advice. He feared that he really screwed up, but Michael assured him that they'd figure things out. After, Michael approached Heather and accused her of not honoring Daniel's Fifth Amendment privileges.
He vowed to prove that she had a vendetta against the Newmans and their extended family — and threatened to get her disbarred for going behind her boss's back and not following procedure. She realized that he wanted transcripts in exchange for keeping quiet and called it blackmail. Michael demanded to know what Deacon and Ryder said in their testimonies. She said she'd think about it. Michael promptly began to dial her boss, Owen ...and Heather agreed to tell him what he wants to know.
Jack paid Phyllis a visit to let her and Nick know that Kay let him in on Chancellor. Phyllis apologized for sending him away the other night. Jack revealed that he'd wanted to see Nick because Sharon was dating Adam. Phyllis was shocked.... Things began to heat up between Sharon and Adam.
J.T. met with Kay on Tucker's behalf, stating that Tucker would like to be included in the Chancellor deal. Kay noted how powerful Tucker was and was intrigued.
Daniel was arrested for the murder. Kevin called Michael, while Amber struggled to maintain her composure.... Michael went to see Phyllis and informed her that things don't look good for Daniel.
