Monday
Chloe brought Chance home from the hospital, but he wanted to keep his release secret from Nina and Jill. He relaxed in bed while Chloe kept him company and they played cards. The stakes? The winner got to ask the loser anything he or she wanted. When Chloe lost, Chance asked what her idea of the perfect date is. "I'm having it right now," she answered, snuggling up to him.
Mac informed Lily and Cane that she and Billy broke up over him not wanting her to have Lily and Cane's baby. Billy drowned his sorrows at Jimmy's and thought about Mac.
Jack and Emily dined at the G.C.A.C. Jack admitted that he's attracted to Emily, but insisted that it has nothing to do with Patty. Emily agreed to consider going out to dinner with him. Billy found Jack at the club, but Jack refused to help him clean up his messes. Paul then arrived, looking for Emily. He revealed that Patty remembered Paul taking her to the church — but then slipped back in time again. Paul warned that Patty had threatened to hurt Jack if he were ever with someone else. Jack reminded him that Patty couldn't act on the threats since she was in the mental hospital. Jack was determined to help Paul do everything they could to get Patty out of the hospital. Paul was touched by Jack's support.
Daisy ran into Eden and Michael at Crimson Lights. She introduced herself to Michael and explained that Lauren is her boss. She then revealed that Amber and Daniel were getting married on the roof of his building. Daisy and Eden sat down to do homework. Ryder approached Eden and asked what he could do to fit into the Baldwin-Fisher clan.
On the roof, Daniel and Amber were pronounced husband and wife. Phyllis was less than pleased — especially when Amber called her "Mom." After, the couple shared their first dance. Kevin put on square dance music and Murphy taught the group how to do the dance properly. Muphy toasted the new couple, noting that they have the same "spark" as himself and Katherine. Nick then toasted Daniel, telling his stepson how proud he is of him. Later, Kevin shared a dance with Kay, who offered him a job at Chancellor Industries. While Amber and Daniel stepped away, Kevin and Jana gathered their presents and found a mysterious gift for Lauren. Inside was a rat, which a spooked Jana took to be the bad thing she sensed would happen. Lauren tried to shake it off when the happy couple returned. Amber and Daniel wanted to stay and party with everyone, but Jana stated that it was time for them to begin their wedding night.... Nick and Phyllis spent some time alone on the roof. He was proud of her for not trying to stop the wedding.
Emily went to the hospital and introduced herself as Lily's new therapist. Mac was surprised to see the woman, who looked so much like Patty. Lily felt badly that Mac had to end her relationship with Billy in order to have their baby for them. She and Cane vowed to give Mac back something to thank them. After, Billy visited Lily and she urged him to make things right with Mac. Billy feared that Mac would get hurt.... Mac met with Emily to discuss her concerns about being a surrogate. Mac admitted that she'd feel disappointed and guilty if the procedure didn't take, and shared that she'd had a miscarriage. She also revealed that she and Billy just broke up. Emily wondered if she could handle carrying someone else's baby without getting attached, and wasn't sure that Mac would be a good candidate. Mac insisted on doing this for Cane and Lily and was certain that she wouldn't latch onto the baby. "What if Lily doesn't make it?" Em noted, encouraging Mac to think more about the decision. Later, Cane found Mac and thanked her for giving up so much for them. Cane encouraged Lily to have faith that the procedure would work.
Paul and Emily met at the coffeehouse and discussed Jack. Paul told her about how compassionate Jack has been in regards to Patty and believed that Jack has changed. Later, she and Jack met at the club for a drink... Phyllis and Nick booked a room at the club. Phyllis was horrified to find Jack with Emily.
Things began to heat up between Chloe and Chance, but they were interrupted when Billy walked in on them. Mac returned home and tearfully told Kay that she and Billy are over. Billy ran into Mac in the hallway. Kay asked Billy to leave, while she comforted Mac.
Amber and Daniel prepared to enjoy their wedding night. Amber was relieved that nothing bad had happened that day.... Michael, Jana, Kevin and Lauren met at the coffeehouse to discuss Lauren's "gift." Lauren suspected it was from Ryder.
Tuesday
At Crimson Lights, Nick and Phyllis met up with Lauren and Michael. Nick gave Michael a check for the money that Gloria and Michael had lost in the Cayman Islands Bank. However, Gloria and Jeff were disappointed that they hadn't been given more. Michael noted that they were lucky to be getting any money after investing their cash in an offshore account. Still, Gloria and Jeff quit working at the coffeehouse. Ryder congratulated them for their windfall... Lauren sat with Phyllis and admitted how shaken she was about receiving that rat at Amber and Daniel's wedding.... Ryder interrupted and asked how the wedding went. Lauren and Phyllis were suspicious, but Michael urged her not to read too much into it. Kevin was annoyed when Michael questioned him about Ryder and the rat (which Kevin gave a funny name) and defended his brother. Later, Gloria went on a shopping spree. Jeff mentioned Chancellor going public and hoped to get some of the stock. Kevin was intrigued.... Lauren and Michael interrogated Ryder about the rat and where he was the night before. He replied that he was running errands, but was vague about what he'd been doing. Michael pressed him, but Ryder lashed out. A furious Michael grabbed Ryder by the collar and flat-out accused him of sending Lauren the "gift."
Adam and Sharon hung out at the G.C.A.C. Things became awkward for Adam when Ashley ran into them and Sharon asked about the baby. Sharon asked Ashley to join them, but Adam reminded Sharon that she was supposed to meet with her trainer at the gym. Ash asked Adam to join her for lunch, but he replied that he needed to get back to work at Newman.... At work, Adam asked Nick for more responsibility, but Nick refused to give it to him until Adam earned back his trust.
Paul and Heather met for some father/daughter time. When he hinted that he's interested in someone, Heather guessed that it's Nina. Paul didn't confirm it, but was clearly happy to be moving on from Nikki.... Jill lied to Kay that she and Paul are dating. Kay wanted to hear all about the relationship, but Jill wanted to focus on business, namely Kay's decision to have Chancellor Industries sell stock.... Jack asked Neil if Chancellor is really about to go public, but Neil wouldn't tell him anything. Jack implored him to let him in on the deal, but Neil refused to divulge any information.... Jill arrived at the coffeehouse and got her check from Michael. She advised the Bardwells to invest wisely. Glo and Jeff suspected that Jill was up to something.... Kay met with her lawyer at Chancellor to discuss business. She wondered where Jill was. Jill was meeting with Paul to talk about him searching for Kay's daughter. Paul wasn't thrilled at the idea of pretending to date Jill, but Jill didn't want anyone to suspect that he was working on the case. Paul stated that while he thinks she's attractive, he just can't imagine them really dating. Jill agreed. Later, Heather was surprised when she spied Paul and Jill looking friendly.
Jack ran into Sharon at the club and said he has a job for her. He asked if she wanted to get together, but she replied that she had plans.... Ashley met with Kay to ask how she can get some stock. Kay and Neil concluded that she was asking on Jack's behalf, but Ashley explained that she was after her own interests and not her brother's. Kay promised to keep in touch.... Jack offered to make a deal with Nick: if Nick bought the Chancellor stock, Jack would put up the money. Nick wondered why Jack wanted to do this for him. Jack explained that he wanted to get Jabot back under his control because he believed that it would help him get his family back together. Nick agreed to consider the proposal. When Nick told Phyllis about it, she thought he should go for it.
Heather had an awkward run-in with Adam at the club. He apologized for hurting her, but she called him a liar. After, Sharon and Adam met up at the bar, but kept a couple of bar stools between them so no one would suspect that they were hanging out together. He filled her in on his encounters with Heather and Nick. Sharon asked why he rushed her out of the room when Ashley invited her to sit down. Adam replied that he thought it would be uncomfortable for Sharon to be around Ashley because of the baby. Sharon was touched that he wanted to protect her.
Wednesday
Billy met with a freelance writer at Crimson Lights so they could discuss the upcoming Restless Style story on ordinary heroes. Billy proudly told Mac how the story was coming along, but she replied that he can't impress her and they're still broken up. She added that she's going to go through with carrying Lily and Cane's baby for them. Mac hoped that she and Billy could be friends again. He noted that if she's not a candidate for surrogacy then they broke up over nothing. Billy wanted to discuss their relationship, but she refused. Later, Mac met with Emily at the coffeehouse, where Emily continued to ask Mac if she's prepared to be a surrogate. Mac was adamant about wanting to carry the baby. Emily told Mac that she'd let her know soon whether she'd approve of Mac going through with the procedure.
Lily went home from the hospital and spent some quality time with Cane and their dog. She happily told Humphrey that he might not be an only "child" for much longer and was overjoyed at the prospect of being a mother. Cane didn't want her to be stressed, but Lily explained that she's excited. Cane looked forward to starting a new chapter in his life with her, as well. Phillip then came by and Lily stepped away. Phil informed Cane that the pub in Australia had been vandalized by the men who accused Cane of breaking up their organization. Cane wanted to go there to handle it, but Phillip refused and planned to go there by himself. He noted that Lily needs Cane to stay put.
At the Chancellor Estate, a recovering Chance asked Chloe to help him scratch an itch. Nina interrupted them with food for her son and wasn't pleased to see Chloe with her hands under Chance's blanket. Chloe stated that she was there to take care of him and would even give Chance a sponge bath. After, Nina complained to Kay about Chloe, complaining that she has no respect. Nina became angry when Kay compared Chloe to Nina. Kay pointed out
that Chance is an adult and can make his own decisions. Upstairs, Chloe and Chance relaxed in his bed and took a quiz that was in a magazine. Chance asked if she was with him to annoy Billy; Chloe wondered if Chance was trying to annoy Nina. They agreed that they didn't care what anyone else thought of them being together.
Jack and Katherine met at the G.C.A.C. to discuss Jabot business. Jack tried to get information on Chancellor Industries' stock, but Kay stated that he's not going to get in on it. After, Jack stopped by Newman to see Nick, but Nick said he still didn't have an answer about accepting Jack's proposal. Jack reiterated how he wanted Jabot back in his control because it's his family's business. Nick said that he needs time to think about it, but admitted that Phyllis thought he should accept the deal. He wasn't sure that the move would really reunite Jack's family, but Jack wanted to take the risk. Jack added that he also considered Nick and Phyllis to be his extended family and wanted to rebuild their friendship.
Billy paid Kay a visit and informed her about Mac wanting to be a surrogate. Kay was shocked. He then shared that he and Mac broke up. Billy implored her to talk sense into Mac. Later, Mac returned home and Kay questioned her about her decision to carry Cane and Lily's baby. Kay recalled how difficult it had been to give up her child. Mac argued that her case was going to be different because the child wouldn't be hers. Kay insisted that she wasn't trying to talk Mac out of doing it, but wanted her to know what was at stake. Mac then got a call from the hospital and went there to meet Lily and Cane. Mac later revealed that she signed the papers and is ready to begin the procedure.
Phyllis got a call from the mental hospital saying that Patty wanted to see Nick. Phyllis visited Patty instead. A confused Patty said that she had the nurse call Diane's husband. Phyllis refused to believe that Patty was living in the past. Patty angrily told Phyllis that she saw Phyllis and Jack having sex — only she thought that Phyllis was Diane. Phyllis was shocked.... Emily ran into Nick at the coffeehouse and informed him that Phyllis went to see Patty. Nick demanded that Patty leave his family alone. Emily feared that Phyllis's visit would upset her patient.... Patty stated that "Diane" needed to be punished and that's why she had no choice with "the baby." Phyllis thought that Patty meant Jack and Diane's son Kyle.
Patty then launched into a detailed description of the night that Jack and Phyllis had sex — and described kissing Summer after eating peanut cookies and making her sick. Phyllis flashed back to her time with Jack and realized that Patty hurt Summer because she saw Phyllis with Jack. Phyllis grabbed Patty by her throat and shook her. She then left, horrified that she was partially responsible for Summer's condition.... Jack met Emily for coffee and asked how Patty was doing. Emily replied that Patty's very fragile. Jack
felt badly for betraying her with Diane all those years ago.... Phyllis returned to Newman and guiltily watched Nick help Summer make a sign that said, "We love you, Mommy."
Chloe went to Crimson Lights to pick up some pastries and ran into Billy. He told her that he doesn't need or want his ex-wife.... Phillip visited Nina and told her that he needs to return to Australia right away. Nina was furious that he'd leave Chance again. Phil explained that he has unfinished business back home. She bristled at him calling Australia "home."
Thursday
Chloe and Billy continued to spar at Crimson Lights. Chloe then got a text from Phillip, requesting that they get to the Chancellor Estate ASAP.
Daniel and Amber mentioned their wedding gift from Kay and Murphy. They were all set to go on their honeymoon. However, Michael stopped them and informed them that Daniel is once again a suspect in the murder and can't leave the state. Amber couldn't believe that Daniel was even being accused. An upset Daniel went for a walk. When he returned, he found that Amber had decorated
the apartment with palm trees and a large poster of the Eiffel Tower. She explained that she'd brought their honeymoon to them since they couldn't go anywhere. He felt badly that their marriage was getting off to such a bad start, but she was just happy to be his wife. They drank some wine and pretended that they were in Paris together. Later, they decided to go for a honeymoon in Wisconsin.
At the coffeehouse, Lauren and Kevin discussed her "gift" of a rat. She was positive that Ryder was the person who'd sent it, but Kevin wanted to give his brother the benefit of the doubt... Michael arrived and told Ryder that he's representing Daniel and is no longer representing Ryder. Kevin was furious that Michael would just desert Ryder. Lauren cornered Ryder and asked what his problem with her is. Ryder denied sending her the rodent and stated that he likes her and Michael. Kevin intervened and kicked Michael and Lauren out of the coffeehouse.... Ryder called a mystery person and said that the person really jumped the gun.
Cane, Lily and Mac returned to Cane and Lily's after leaving the hospital and found Jill waiting for them. Cane shared that he and Lily are planning to have kids. Jill was thrilled for them. He then asked if she'd spoken to Phillip and warned her that Phil might be returning to Australia. After Jill left, Cane admitted to Lily that he's worried about Jill. Lily suggested he be with his mom, while Mac stayed with her. Lily thanked Mac for giving up so much for them. Lily then wanted to discuss what would happen to her baby
if she didn't survive the cancer — and asked if Mac would be a mother to the child. Mac was overwhelmed by the request and asked if they could discuss things later.
Nina angrily told Katherine about Phillip's plans to leave town. Nina couldn't believe that he'd leave Chance again..... Phillip met with Chance in the Chancellor living room and told his son that he needs to go back to Australia indefinitely. Chance asked why, but Phillip replied that it was "complicated." Kay and Nina joined them and demanded to know the truth. Phillip asked them to trust him. Jill arrived and asked if it was true that he was going. "Why are you doing this?" she cried. Cane joined them and explained that Phillip was saving Cane's life. Cane revealed how he had
busted a ring of criminals while they were in Australia, and the group was now targeting Phillip's pub and could possibly target the rest of the family. Billy snapped and reamed out Phillip for causing even more pain in his family. Kay wondered if the thugs were after him; when he replied that they were after Cane, Nina couldn't understand why he'd want to help "that creep" rather than be with his son. However, Jill and Kay were proud of him for wanting to help his loved ones.... Chance and Chloe went into the next room to enjoy some quiet time with Cordelia. Chance noted that what his
father was doing was noble. Chloe agreed and pointed out that Phillip wasn't actually running out on his family. She was confident that Phil would return, but Chance wasn't as optimistic.... Phillip regretted losing so many years with Chance.... Billy confronted Cane outside and blamed Ashby for all of his family's problems. When Cane angrily grabbed him, Billy dared Cane to
slug him. Cane didn't take the bait and implored Billy to grow up. "If you want to know why you're all alone and no one wants you, I'll give you a hint," said Cane. "It's got nothing to do with me." After he left, Billy sat outside by himself, while Cane joined the others inside. Jill and Kay apologized to Phil for not giving him everything he needed when he was growing up, and said that she's going to miss him. He promised to come back. Chance admitted that he thought the worst of his father, but he respects Phillip for doing the right thing. He then called Phillip "Dad" and they embraced. Nina and Phillip shared a tearful good-bye. Phillip took a picture of himself with Chance so he could hang it in his bar.... Kay reminded Nina that you don't have to be related to be family.... Jill wondered what set Billy off.... Chloe joined Billy outside and said that she agrees with him about Cane. Billy asked if he could be by himself. He thought about happier times with Mac. Mac arrived at the estate and they shared a longing look.
Friday
At the Chancellor Estate, Chloe worried about Chance's condition. He told her not to worry about him because it was his mom's job. "Then what's my job?" she asked. He replied that they were still negotiating that. Chloe leaned in to kiss him ... and ended up hurting his stab wound. He looked forward to getting well and getting back to work as a detective, but Chloe wished he'd consider working for Kay since it was safer. Chance became defensive and said that he'd feel like a caged animal if he did that. Chloe stated that she understands and likes him for who he is. After, they joined
Billy and Mac outside, where Billy revealed that Mac was going to carry Cane and Lily's baby for them. Chloe found the situation amusing, but Chance realized that it would give some hope for Lily and Cane. Billy admitted that he's not thrilled with the decision. After they went back inside, Billy apologized for telling them, but Mac said that she's not ashamed of what she's planning to do. Billy invited her inside with him, but Mac refused. Later, Chloe told Mac that she thought Mac is doing the right thing and promised to support her. However, Chance understood why Billy was upset. After Mac went upstairs to her room, Chance concluded that Chloe was so pleased about Mac becoming pregnant because it meant that Billy was available again. Chloe denied it.
Adam got ready for a night out with Sharon. He informed Ashley that he was going out with a "mystery date," but didn't say who it was with. Sharon made reservations at Indigo and suggested that she drive over to pick him up at the Newman Ranch.
Jack made dinner plans with Emily. He then called Nick to see if Nick had thought more about his offer. When Nick arrived home, he found Phyllis waiting for him. She'd covered up the sofa and said that she wanted to get a new one ... and claimed she's the reason that Patty had attacked Summer. Phyllis then confessed that Patty followed Jack to their home and watched as Jack and Phyllis had sex. Yikes. She added that it had happened after Nick had left her and Sharon had left Jack. "We were desperate and completely
alone and needed each other," she explained. "It was a mistake," she said, breaking into sobs. "We weren't hurting anyone, or so we thought." She took the blame for hurting Summer. Nick assured her that she wasn't responsible for Patty's actions, but Phyllis still felt guilty. Nick suggested she blame him instead since he was the one who'd abandoned her. "This could've been so much worse," he reminded her. Phyllis was angry at Emily for not "fixing" Patty, but Nick didn't think it was a good idea for her to be so enraged.
"You have no idea how I feel," she sighed. "We all have some blame in this," an understanding Nick noted. "You are the best mother our little girl could have ever asked for. We're all together and we're safe." He kissed his wife passionately and they went upstairs to make love.
Paul visited Patty in the mental ward and they reminisced about her teenage years. She recalled an old friend who had a crush on Paul. Emily joined them and Paul whispered to her that Patty was doing well and hadn't mentioned Jack. Patty then gave Paul some paper dolls she made of Paul and Kitty Kitty and complained that the scissors she'd used were child scissors. Still, she understood because she noted that there was dangerous people in there — but didn't count herself among them. Paul and Emily went outside in the hallway to talk. Paul was encouraged that his sister was now able to have a conversation with him that wasn't centered around Jack. After they left, Patty pulled out a picture she’d drawn of herself and Jack. She whispered to it that she wouldn't let them take Jack away from her.
Jack stopped by the ranch and asked Ashley to go in with him in getting Chancellor's stock, but she told him that she was going to invest on her own. He was shocked, but she explained that she wants to keep business separate from her family. Jack accused her of not caring about what happens to Jabot. She insisted that she does — but doesn't approve of many of the things he's done. Later, after Jack left, Ashley quizzed Adam about his date, but he wouldn't divulge the name of the woman because he didn't want
to jinx it. Ashley headed out; he was about to do the same, but the nanny suddenly cancelled because her father had a heart attack. Adam was afraid to have Sharon come over with the baby, but she soon arrived. He said that he had to cancel and explained about the nanny. Sharon was fine with just hanging out at the ranch. She offered to help him with the baby, but he turned her down. When he went to get some food, Sharon heard the baby crying over the monitor and was clearly affected by it. Adam returned and to his alarm, saw Sharon holding the baby.
Jack met up with Emily at the G.C.A.C. and presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He brought her to his home, where'd he prepared a romantic dinner. Em was impressed and felt badly that she'd given him such a hard time when they first met. Jack was pleased that she was seeing that he had some redeeming qualities. He revealed that he'd spent his life trying to be like the late John, but has done a rotten job. Emily suggested that if he lets go of an old dream, he can make room for a new one.
Billy met up with Ashley at Crimson Lights and sadly told her that Mac doesn't want to be with him anymore. Ashley concluded that the surrogacy was just the last straw for Mac and pointed out that loving Victor wasn't enough to keep her marriage together. Billy didn't want to hear it and was determined to win Mac back.
Nick called Jack and told him that he's not accepting Jack's deal to go in on Chancellor together.,,, Jack took Emily back to the club and Paul spied them kissing.... Patty held up the paper doll she'd made of Jack and cut it, vowing that he'd never hurt anyone again.
