Heather confessed to Paul that Aunt Patty gave her a coffee cup and begged her to do a DNA test. Heather then got a call and headed out to get the results.

Patty prayed to God to show her the way and then heard a cat meow. "Mr. Kitty?" She picked the cat up and took it inside as Jack watched from the window. Patty saw the cat as a sign from God, fed it and named it Cat. Jack entered, explaining he slept at the club. He asked about the shredded portrait; Patty explained she assumed he didn't want to see it anymore. He asked about the cat; Patty said it was a stray. Jack asked her to keep it in the poolhouse. Patty told Jack she would not rescind the order for him to see "Patty," while cradling the cat which scratched her arm. Jack walked out, spitting that Patty had just outed herself without even knowing it.

Kevin told Daniel that Jana can't speak and may have brain damage. Daniel advised Kevin to love Jana through it. "How's Amber?" asked Kevin. Not good, replied Daniel. She didn't come home last night.

Amber and Chloe discussed Eric and how much Amber missed being a mom. They ran into Daniel at the hospital and he asked if they could talk. Amber begged off to go check on Jana. She found Gloria and Kevin with Jana listening to the doctor explain that Jana's severe dehydration complicated her aneurysm. Kevin whispered to a comatose Jana that the doctor would have to operate, and he would be waiting for her after surgery. Gloria gave Kevin a pep talk to calm his fears. Amber remarked on their mother/son bond and confided to Kevin that she wanted to leave Genoa City to protect Eric from Daisy and Ryder.

Victor refused to meet with Chance in the interrogation room without his lawyer, Michael Baldwin. "You're being released," announced Chance. Victor argued that he had already confessed. Chance responded that there was new information.

Phyllis and Nick brought Summer home, promising no more "business trips" for Daddy. Nick apologized to Phyllis for missing their anniversary. Summer wanted a picnic to celebrate and asked about mommy and daddy's wedding day. Nick got a call from the just-released Victor asking him to come to the jail and pick him up.

Daniel asked Chloe if her daughter made her feel tied down. No, said Chloe, extolling the virtues of motherhood. Daniel said he isn't ready to make the "sacrifice" to be a parent.

Jack found Paul at Crimson Lights. "The woman I married is not Emily. She's Patty!" "I was afraid of that," responded Paul. Paul explained about Heather getting the DNA test for proof. Jack said he didn't need it - Emily is allergic to cats, but the woman he just left didn't bat an eye. Paul called the loony bin to say he was coming with a guest, but was told that Dr. Emily Abbott had restricted all visitors to Patty‘s room. Paul asked for a superior, but was told they were all at a medical conference. Jack said it was time to call the cops. Heather rushed in with the DNA test - the lab report proved Heather and Patty had no markers in common.

Patty went back to blonde then covered her hair with a kerchief. She told Cat she had "one more thing left to do," and headed for Emily's padded cell. "Good news," she hissed to Emily while brandishing a syringe. "You're getting out of here."

Chance told Nick and Victor there was new evidence in Adam‘s murder case - a cell phone had been found and a message had been retrieved. Chance played it for them. "Nick, what are you doing?" said Adam's voice. "That's a set-up!" asserted Nick.

The doctor assured Kevin and company that Jana's surgery went well. Kevin took Jana's hand and it moved. Amber announced she was moving to LA with Eric. Tawny called Amber's cell saying she was heading to Genoa City to fetch Eric.

Patty wheeled a body covered in a sheet to the morgue, and attached a tag to the toe reading, "John Doe." "See ya, wouldn't want to be ya," she trilled to the body.

Daniel apologized to Amber that he was not ready to have a kid. Amber said she can't abandon Eric again. Daniel said he would try to make things work and Amber enthused that he will love California. WHAT? said Daniel. "I know it's sudden…" allowed Amber. Daniel asked if Amber planned to come back. Maybe, she hedged.

Victor called Phyllis and said Nick was being charged with murder. Phyllis sped to the jail, where Nick explained the voice recording of Adam incriminating him. "This punk is dead, and he's still coming after us," rued Nick. Chance arrested Nick and read him his rights.

Heather, Paul and Jack arrived at the mental hospital. Jack gave them his keys and told them to go get Patty at his house. Jack walked into Patty's room. "Emily?" he asked. Patty sat up and Jack took her in his arms. "She knocked me out and tried to kill me!" said Patty. "It's all over," promised Jack. Patty smiled.

Paul let himself into Jack's house. "Patty Cake?" "Oh my God," gasped Heather as she spied the painting. They found a note from Patty to Jack, saying, "Emily will never love you the way I do. I'm leaving Genoa City. You'll never find me. Love, your wife Patty."

The body in the morgue was revealed to be Emily. A technician slammed her body into a metal drawer and shut the door.
