Y&R Week Of March 29, 2010

Monday

At the hospital, Patty whispered to a sleeping Phyllis that she'd "take care" of her. Phyllis awoke when Nick called with the news that Faith is their child. Phyllis tried to be happy for him and Sharon. Phyll wondered what "Emily" was doing in her room.

Jack told Ashley that she's brave for giving up Faith. Ashley admitted that she's falling apart. Just then, Traci surprised her siblings with a visit. "My baby's gone," Ashley cried, sobbing in her sister's arms.

Victoria was surprised when Billy suddenly kissed her outside of Ashley's place. She pushed him away, then began kissing him again — and pushed him away again. "What are we doing?" she asked, reminding him that she's still technically married and is angry with Billy for writing the article about Adam. Billy again insisted that he didn't write it, noting that he'd never hurt Ashley like that. Still, they agreed that they shouldn't have kissed. She left and Billy joined his family inside. Jack suggested that they leave the women alone so they could have some time to catch up. Ashley liked that idea. Traci picked up one of Faith's toys, which Ashley said was the little girl's favorite. Traci offered to pack it, but Ash replied that she intended to give it to Sharon. "How do I do this?" Ashley sadly asked, fearing that Faith would think she'd abandoned her. Traci gently reminded her that she'd see Faith again, but Ashley didn't think that she'd mean anything to the little girl. Traci revealed that after she lost Colleen, she regretted not being there the moment that her daughter needed her the most — but that she realized that she'd never get that "one last moment" with Coll. However, she pointed out that Ashley would still get that time with Faith and would get to see Faith grow up. Ashley was also worried about how Abby would handle the loss of another sister. Traci asked if Dr. Taylor was honest about the miscarriage; Ashley recalled falling, but wondered if Adam was telling the truth and she had a child out there. Traci insisted that she take her sister to see a doctor and find out if she really did have a miscarriage.

Meanwhile, Sharon and Nick took Faith to the Newman ranch. Sharon noted that she saw a specialist who advised her that she and Nick should be the only people who are hands-on with the baby for a while — meaning that Phyllis couldn't be involved.... "Emily" lied to Phyllis that Jack asked her to check in on Phyllis. She went on about how lucky she is to have found Jack. Phyllis agreed, but eyed the other woman suspiciously.... Sharon reiterated to Nick that Phyllis should not have any involvement for a few months until Faith managed to bond with her parents. Nick agreed to do whatever needed to be done, but reminded her that Faith would be living with him and Phyllis part-time. Nick was upset when she shared that she was going to take the baby to her suite at the athletic club and hoped that Phyllis would understand.

In New York, Chance asked Chloe were stuck in the cab and he asked her to marry him. She turned him down. Chance was disappointed, but she explained that he caught her off guard. He replied that they don't have to get married the next day, but that he wanted his first time having sex to be meaningful and have a commitment attached. She called him a "hopeless romantic" and wondered if the trip was a mistake. He acknowledged that he should've talked about marriage earlier and wondered if she still loves him. She said that she does love him, but isn't sure she's ready to get married again. "I have done forever twice and it didn't last very long," she pointed out. Chance argued that this would be different from Cane and Billy and called her the "most amazing, incredible woman." She became even more nervous when he noted that she's the type of person he wants to have children with. He accused her of hiding behind her past rather than taking a risk, but promised to never let her down. She didn't think that that was a realistic promise. "Chloe, this really, really can work," he insisted. She still wouldn't say yes. Chance was devastated and gave her the cold shoulder.

"Emily" came home and called for Jack. He phoned and told her that he's on his way home and wanted to continue their conversation about her being selfish. "You're not acting like yourself," he sighed. After, Patty told Emily's portrait that Jack needs to remember why he loves her. She suddenly got an idea. When he returned home, he found her holding her wedding bouquet. She wanted to remind him that she's still the same woman he married and acknowledged that she knows that Ashley needs him. Still, Jack wasn't sure that "Emily" got it, and said that he feared that Ashley would end up as "nuts" as Patty. "Em" bristled at his use of the word "nuts." Jack admitted that his wife keeps saying things that surprise him — and not in a good way. "Emily" revealed that she's taking his last name to prove her love for him. Jack was shocked, but liked the idea. He wanted to talk about her past so he could get to know her better, but "Emily" urged him to concentrate on the present instead and kissed him. Jack was all ready to meet her upstairs in the bedroom. "Too bad, so sad, Jack is mine again," Patty gleefully sang to the portrait when Jack stepped away.

Nick went to see Phyllis, who showed him a homemade card that Summer had made for her. Phyllis asked how they'd tell her that she has a new sister and wanted to build a nursery at the tack house. Nick informed her of Sharon's decision to keep Faith isolated for a while. Phyllis understood that they needed to do what was best for his daughter. Nick then revealed that Sharon's staying at the club, and Phyllis wasn't thrilled with that idea. Still, she urged him to spend time with Faith. Nick declared his love for Phyllis and kissed her. Later, Phyllis went onto her laptop to research information on the bonding process between mothers and children.... Nick returned to Faith and Sharon and took his daughter in his arms.

Billy was surprised when Victoria stopped by his trailer. She admitted that though she loathes him, she can't stay away — and kissed him. He promptly invited her inside, where they continued making out. When things began to heat up, Billy stopped and asked if she was sure she wanted to take things further. She did — and they hit the sheets. After, things were awkward between them, though they agreed that they'd had fun and there were no regrets. Still, they didn't think that they should be together again, though a second later, they were back to smooching.

Traci took Ashley outside, along with a red balloon and suggested they let it go to symbolize Ashley letting go of the baby. Ashley couldn't let go, though, because she wanted answers about what had happened to her child.

Tuesday

Katherine informed Jack and Victor that she's planning a charity masquerade ball. "Emily" soon joined them at the athletic club. Kay asked if she'd make a speech and "Emily" nervously agreed.

At the Newman ranch, Sharon struggled to get a crying Faith to calm down. The doorbell rang and when she went to answer it, Adam was there saying that he wanted his girls. Sharon then awoke from a bad dream. Nick was there to comfort her and she shared that she'd had a nightmare about Adam. Sharon then lamented that Faith still thinks that Ashley is her mother and hasn't adjusted to the change. She planned to move back to the club right away, but Nick thought that she should wait a while before doing so. "You need support right now," he stated. "You don't need room service at a hotel." Sharon ignored him and asked the housekeeper to help pack her bags because she wanted to get away from where she'd lived with Adam. Nick promised Sharon that if Adam bothered her, he'd kill him. Sharon didn't want to think about Adam and was just glad that they had Faith back.

Victoria visited Phyllis at the hospital. Phyllis asked her sister-in-law to tell her about "the world" so Victoria confided in her about how she and J.T are fighting for custody of Reed. Phyllis was confident that the judge would grant her joint custody, but Victoria wasn't so sure. When Phyllis mentioned Vicky's affair with Deacon and how she shouldn't worry about that, Victoria squirmed. Phyllis realized that she was seeing someone. Victoria evaded the question.... At the coffeehouse, Billy tried to explain to Heather how he hadn't written the article about Adam. Billy then thought about being with Victoria. Just then, J.T entered with Reed and Billy became uncomfortable. After, Mac walked J.T and Reed home and handed Reed a present. She asked if J.T had received the invitation to the masquerade ball, but he said that he wasn't thinking about going to any parties.... Phyllis continued to press Victoria about her new guy, but Vicky insisted that she's not seeing anyone. She then gave in and became giggly as she admitted that yes, she was with someone, but added that it was never going to happen again because she's a mom. "You're not dead. You're not a nun," Phyllis reminded her. "He makes you feel good, there's nothing wrong with that. It's fine." Still, Victoria planned to be careful so she wouldn't lose Reed.... Mac played pirate with J.T and his son.

At the hospital, Adam called for the nurse and asked where his shrink, Dr. Abbott, was. He thought back to when he'd teamed up with Patty to gaslight Ashley, and they'd met in the Newman ranch potting shed. Ashley and Traci then arrived and Ashley asked him to tell her what had happened to her baby. She reminded him how they were once friends and he'd cared about her. "Please, out of respect for my little girl, please tell me what happened to her," she begged. Adam replied that he didn't know what happened. Ashley tried to strangle him, but was pulled away by security.... Heather and Billy met up with Kay, Jack, Victor and "Emily" at the club. Billy very excitedly picked up Em and swung her around. Heather shared that Adam was deemed competent enough to stand trial, thanks to "Emily's" psychiatric evaluation of him.

Victoria left Phyllis's room and saw Ashley leaving Adam's room in tears. She entered and told Adam that she wished they'd finished what they'd started at the cabin, and that if she lost Reed, Adam would be in trouble.... Victor and Heather arrived at the hospital and informed Adam that he's going to be standing trial. "That is impossible!" Adam yelled. Victor replied that this time, there's no way out. Heather explained that he'd be going to jail and wished that there could be a death penalty for everything he's done. Adam didn't want to return to prison.... Traci took Ashley home and promised that they'd get answers for her. Ashley said that she's going to do the rest on her own and will see Victor.... Victor told Adam that he's been formally disowned, "erased" from the family. "You're not my son anymore," Victor stated and left. "It's not over!" Adam declared, then called for the nurse and asked her to deliver a message for him.

At the club, Jack, "Emily," Billy and Kay raised a toast to Adam finally getting his. Billy called "Em" a genius and Jack agreed. She called Adam a "dangerous, hurtful, young man." Kay complained to Billy about the article that Jill had written for Restless Style. Billy again explained how he'd had nothing to do with it. Murphy arrived and before Billy left them alone, Kay advised Billy to lay low for a while.... Victoria arrived at the club and ran into Billy. She explained that she needs to focus on Reed and the divorce. Billy urged her to cut loose and enjoy herself, but she refused. He invited her to have a secret tryst with him, declaring that nothing is sexier. Later, Victoria came home and found Mac hanging out with J.T. She then eyed the invitation to the ball. J.T asked if Vicky was going; she wondered if he'd use it against her in the divorce if she did. He promised he wouldn't and encouraged her to go and have fun. Victoria went outside and called Billy to tell him. He was thrilled. As Mac left, she overheard Victoria talking to someone on the phone, but Vicky quickly stopped speaking.

Nick went to see Phyllis and he told her how Sharon went to the club with Faith. Phyllis acknowledged that it was a messy situation all around. They agreed that they wanted to "rip Adam apart." Phyllis stated that he can't do that and that he's going to be miserable if he's a man seeking revenge.... Jack and "Emily" ran into Sharon and Faith at the club. She shared that she's moving in and Jack promised to be there if she needed anything.... Ashley went to see Victor and told him how she's trying to get answers about what happened to their baby. She explained how Adam wouldn't tell her anything, and Victor wasn't surprised. "So now what?" she asked.... Adam's nurse called Patty, a.k.a. "Dr. Abbott," with a cryptic message from him: "He remembers the potting shed and ... Meow." Patty looked horrified.

Wednesday

Daisy burst into the apartment and was in a hurry to change for work at the boutique. Lauren informed her that the store was closed due to the toxic fumes in the wallpaper. Lauren and Michael continued the charade of being angry with each other, and he "stormed" out. As soon as Daisy left the room, Lauren grabbed her cell phone and placed a call, knowing that Daisy would be eavesdropping. Daisy overheard her planning to meet up with someone at Jimmy's bar. She followed Lauren out of the apartment.

At Jimmy's, Lauren pretended to be drunk. Paul played along, and began flirting heavily with Lauren. Just as they suspected, Daisy lurked in the shadows with a video recorder. Paul and Lauren left the bar together, leaning on one another. Daisy quickly got up and opened the door to leave. She was caught off guard to find Lauren standing in the doorway. She stammered trying to explain herself, as Lauren's jaw tightened in anger. Paul sneaked up behind Daisy and grabbed her video recorder. "I'll take that!" he exclaimed.

Back at the apartment, Michael answered the door and let Chance in. The two set up a computer with equipment that would encode text messages to Ryder that would look like that were coming from Daisy. "Urgent. Come to apartment," Chance "texted" Ryder. The pair was thrilled when Ryder responded that he was on his way. He arrived shortly after and cautiously knocked on the door. He was stunned when Michael answered. Chance appeared behind him and flashed his badge, wanting to ask some questions. Ryder was evasive, claiming that he had come by to check if there were any leads on Jana's whereabouts. Paul and Lauren entered with Daisy in tow. Lauren, Michael and Paul ganged up on the brother-sister duo, peppering them with accusations and firing questions at them. Daisy was shocked to hear that Lauren knew about her efforts to drug her. Lauren informed her that she sent a bottle of water Daisy had given her to the crime lab for testing. Paul produced Daisy's recorder and handed it over to Chance. "Be sure to put stalking on her list of charges," he added. Turning their attention to Ryder, they demanded to know if he had anything to say in his defense. Ryder remained silent, so Chance led him away in handcuffs. Michael was glad to learn that he and Daisy would be booked separately so they wouldn't have a chance to get their stories straight. Alone with Daisy, Michael, Lauren and Paul tried to put the pieces to the puzzle together. Paul reasoned that perhaps Daisy was tormenting Lauren to cause a distraction while trying to execute a bigger plan. Lauren maintained that she was being attacked by someone who hated her. "Is someone using you?" she questioned Daisy. She launched into Sheila's misdeeds, and wondered if Daisy even knew how dangerous the person using her was. "The only person who can save you right now," Michael explained, "is you." Lauren demanded to know who had sent Daisy. Daisy revealed nothing. Paul promised to continue his investigation. "I cannot believe we are being targeted again!" exclaimed Lauren, who melted into Michael's arms. "Don't worry," he assured her as Chance led Daisy away. "A few days in prison, and they'll crack."

The nurse in Adam's room continued her phone call with Patty. She passed along Adam's message that if Patty didn't come to see him regarding the "potting shed," then he would have to discuss it with someone else. Distraught, Patty hung up the phone and informed Jack that she had to rush to the hospital to see a patient. Adam was pleased to hear that Patty was on his way. Just then, Jill burst in and began berating Adam for misleading her. A sarcastic Adam demanded that Jill leave him alone. Jill left and encountered Nick in the hospital hallway. They discussed how happy they were that Adam was going to prison. Nick ducked into Adam's room and threatened his brother. "You get within a mile of Sharon or Faith ever again, and I'll have to kill you," Nick spat.

Patty arrived to visit Adam. Confronting him with her eyes wild, she twisted the knife, noting that she had seen his wife checking into the club with her baby. Her rant was stopped cold in its tracks as a cat started to meow, which shook her. "Patty had a cat ... I believe his name was Mr. Kitty?" Adam asked with a twisted smile. Patty froze as Adam pretended to talk to the cat. "What's that, Mr. Kitty?" he asked. "They switched places?" A crazed Patty snatched the sheets away and Adam laughed as a toy cat came tumbling out. "Dr. Peterson would never be tormented by a toy cat. Hello, Patty," a sinister Adam sneered. "It is almost a shame that I am going to have to expose you.” Patty shot back that nobody would believe him, but he countered that he would tell everyone his suspicions. "Somebody is bound to do a DNA test on that poor girl rotting away in that nuthouse," he said. Patty realized that she was being blackmailed and informed him that it was too late for her to do anything to stop his transfer to the county lockup. Surprisingly, he claimed that was not what he wanted. Instead, he detailed exactly what he wanted her to do, which was to recommend heavy sedation for his prison transfer. "And you will show up to personally administer that shot yourself," he growled. Patty was panicked as he went on. "If you want me to keep your secret, you WILL help me escape tomorrow night ... the night of the Policemen's Ball," Adam demanded.

At the GCAC, Jack was sitting at the bar when the district attorney, Sid, arrived. Jack expressed his gratitude that Adam would soon be behind bars. Sid was quick to explain that there wasn't much evidence, since Dr. Taylor was deceased. He informed Jack that the vigilante episode at the cabin did not help matters. Jack pointed at Jill as she walked in. "There's the woman you can blame for that," Jack griped. Walking up to the men, Jill began apologizing for her poor judgment in publishing the Restless Style article. Sid pointed out that it was too late for a retraction. He angrily informed them that the jury pool was tainted, and that Adam could "walk" because of their actions. Jack took Jill aside. "I will see to it that Adam does not walk ... no matter WHAT I have to do," he claimed. Sid raised his eyebrows as he overheard Jack's threat.

At the hospital, Phyllis was anxious to be released. She was pleased to see Nick when he arrived to visit, and was even more ecstatic to hear Nick's news: that she would soon be released. Nick filled Phyllis in about Adam being fit to stand trial, and that he would be heading to prison. Phyllis was happy on all counts, and pulled Nick in for a kiss. He began massaging her shoulders. Nick brought up the masquerade ball. He reassured Phyllis, who was concerned about dancing and wearing a dress over her cast. Phyllis finally agreed to go. Nick was happy, and kissed his bride. The nurse arrived to wheel Phyllis out to be discharged.

Thursday

At the hospital, Adam tried to remove his handcuffs. Nikki visited and he asked if she was coming to gloat. She wanted to talk, but he demanded she leave. She replied that she wanted to give him one last chance at redemption and the opportunity to tell her about the baby switch. She brought Hope's name into it, but Adam just laughed at her for trying to reach out to him. He asked if Victor had sent her, but she replied that she'd come on her own. She believed that he still wanted Victor's approval and reminded him how Ashley had been his friend. Adam stated that he does care about Ashley. Nikki urged him to give Ash the closure she needs. Adam still wouldn't budge and instead turned the tables by making fun of Nikki's stripper past. "You don't even have a soul," a furious Nikki yelled and stormed out. "Emily" interrupted them and said that they were going to transfer Adam to jail. She then entered Adam's room and told him that she brought the stuff.... At the G.C.A.C., Jack and Victor arrived for the masquerade ball. Jack informed Newman that Detective Pomerantz was launching an investigation of the incident at the cabin.

Lauren and Michael got ready for the ball and he was impressed with her gown. Lauren was relieved that Ryder and Daisy were in jail. She wondered who was behind their antics, but Michael urged her not to think about it.

Victoria got ready for the ball and again asked J.T if he would use this against her in their custody battle. He assured her that he wouldn't and encouraged her to have fun.

Neil asked Ashley to go to the ball with him. Ashley explained that she was reluctant because Sharon was staying at the club and she didn't want to run into her. But then she changed her mind and decided that she needed to get out of the house.

Nick and Phyllis (in a wheelchair) arrived at the ball. Jack was happy to see Phyllis there. Katherine and Billy joined them. Victor informed them that the D.A.'s office has launched an investigation, and it could undermine the case against Adam. He warned them to be careful, especially since Pomerantz would be at the event.

When Victoria arrived at the ball, Billy greeted her and she shared that J.T had been kind that evening. They stopped talking when Victor approached and Billy quickly told her about the pending investigation.... Nick went to Sharon's suite and offered to watch Faith while she went to the ball. She agreed that it would be nice to say hello to everyone. Nick held his daughter and told her about Cassie, and how glad they were to have Faith in their lives. He promised to always be there to love her.... Ashley arrived with Neil and the first person they ran into was Sharon. Sharon invited Ashley to look in on Faith, and she eagerly accepted. After, Sharon said hello to Phyllis, who asked to speak with her. Phyllis said that she was fine with Sharon wanting only herself and Nick to be the ones to spend time with the baby for a while. Sharon acknowledged that Phyllis has been a good stepmother to Noah and hoped she'd be just as good with Faith.... Ashley went upstairs and peeked into Faith's crib. She told Nick that she forgot to put on her list that Faith loves a certain food mashed up. She then became tearful as she admitted how much she missed the baby. Later, she asked Neil how she was supposed to deal with the pain. Having found out that Lily isn't his biological daughter, he advised her not to get rid of the pain, but to work through it.... Nick continued to coo over Faith and told her that her favorite team is going to be the Cubs. Sharon returned and shared that she had a good talk with Phyllis. Before Nick went to the ball, she thanked him for watching the baby.

While Lauren went to deal with a work issue at her store, Michael arrived at the ball and was cordial to Paul when Paul asked if there was any news on Daisy and Ryder. However, when Paul tried to apologize for kissing Lauren, Michael snapped at him.

Nikki arrived at the ball and greeted Kay and Nikki. Nikki informed her that thanks to Victor's contacts, they raised even more money than anticipated. They toasted with apple juice. After, Nikki filled in Victor on her visit with Adam and called the young man "evil." Victor wasn't surprised that Adam didn't respond to her.... Patty gave Adam a hat, cape, disposable cell phone and was about to hand him a sedative. "How do I know I can trust you?" she asked. He replied that they could do it the easy or hard way. She gave in and handed over the syringe.

Billy asked Victoria if they could continue their conversation. She admitted that she regretted going to Dubai. Billy argued that her going on a business trip didn't make her a bad mother. She noted that she felt as if J.T believed he was doing her a favor by letting her go to the party, but still trusted that he wouldn't use it against her..... J.T hung out with Mac at home and they joked about her weird pregnancy cravings.... Billy asked Victoria if she'd like to get a room with him at the club. When she didn't answer, he poured some champagne for her and said that he's trying to keep her mind off of the custody battle. She took a long swig of her drink.

In jail, Ryder told Daisy that he's worried that Jana could escape with them away. Their mother arrived (still only seen from the back) and handed them both masks. "We are going to a party, kiddies," she announced.... Lauren met up with Michael at the ball and asked if they could not discuss Daisy that evening. Michael agreed that they could use the night of fun, but first, Paul and Lauren wanted to clear the air about the awkward pictures. Paul informed a very understanding Neil, Kay, Jack and Victor that it had been a set-up. After, Lauren and Michael joined Phyllis and she told them about Sharon living at the club with the baby. Lauren found it hard to believe that Phyllis was okay with this, but she insisted that she was. Lauren pressed her to be honest; Phyllis explained that she doesn't want to let her doubts get her upset. Later, Michael got a call and learned that Daisy and Ryder had been released. Lauren was shocked.... A masked Daisy and Ryder went to the ball with their mom, who was also wearing a mask that obscured her entire face.

At the hospital, Adam drugged the security guard. Patty put the handcuffs on him and Adam helped her drag him into the bathroom. Adam then prepared to attend the ball.

Friday

After donning a cape, hat and mask for the masquerade ball, Adam was ready
to escape from the hospital but Patty stressed about realistically faking
unconsciousness. When she started to get a little too freaked out, Adam
drugged her, took money from her purse and slipped out.

A disguised Daisy and Ryder freely mingled at the ball with their mysterious
Mama Bear. "You're both clear on the plan?" Mama Bear asked and Daisy
assured they were. Ryder, however, was reluctant to follow through but Daisy
ordered him to fall in line. As usual, Ryder wimped out.

Victor and Nikki didn't flinch when the D.A. declared he was launching an
investigation into Adam's kidnapping. In fact, Vic brazenly offered his full
cooperation. Upstairs, Sharon ordered herself to stop thinking about Nick
and she returned to happily mothering Faith. Nikki showed up to see Faith
and cooed at her granddaughter. Nikki asked if Sharon was going to raise
Faith alone or with Nick. A peeved Sharon assured that she has no intention
of messing with Nick and Phyllis's marriage. "I hope that's true," Nikki
persisted.

Chloe told Chance that she couldn't go to the ball because she was feeling
"under the weather." She urged him to have a good time there but he assured
he wasn't going to walk away from their relationship just because she didn't
accept his proposal. Chloe was thrilled, so they dressed up and went to the
ball.

Billy and Victoria continued to drink and share laughs. J.T. called her and reported that Reed was having a nightmare. She sang
for her son, then told J.T. that she could come home. Victoria heard Mac's
voice in the background and J.T. hung up so he could return to having fun with
her and Reed. Meanwhile, Victoria returned to Billy, who was just warned by
Victor to stay away from her, and they continued to flirt. Billy put on a
mask and top hat so he and Victoria could freely dance without her father's
interference.

Michael told Paul and Lauren that someone named Sarah Smythe bailed out
Daisy and Ryder.... Kay, Nick and Phyllis were uneasy when a masked woman
(Mama Bear) assured them that it was going to be "a memorable night."... A
worried Jack kept calling for Emily.... While dancing, Neil kissed
Ashley.... The D.A. told Nick and Phyllis that he will be questioning them
about the cabin incident with Adam tomorrow morning.... Mac called Kay with
the news that she's not coming to the ball (she didn't want to leave
J.T.)... After some rooting around, Paul told Michael that Sarah Smythe was
once in a car accident where Tom Fisher was the driver.... Patty awoke in
the hospital where she told the police that Adam attacked her with a
syringe.... Someone spilled something on Lauren's dress. While cleaning up
in the ladies room, Mama Bear approached from behind.... Patty called Jack
and told him that Adam "got away.".... Adam arrived at the ball and skulked
about unrecognized. He then slithered upstairs to Sharon's room. She came
out of the bathroom and was shocked to find him holding Faith.
