Young and Restless Recaps
Y&R Week of March 2, 2009
Monday
As Colleen moved back to Brad's house, Ashley and Victor checked on her.
Victor urged Colleen not to be bogged down right now; she knew that meant
giving up her dad's board seat. Jack showed up and said that's not going to
happen. The guys started sniping at each other. Ashley ordered them to
stop their arguing in front of her or they would both lose her. Victor and
Jack agreed, then Jack left with Colleen. Ash pointed out to Victor what a
nice young woman Colleen is; he replied that Coll isn't his problem. Colleen
and Jack went to Crimson Lights where they discussed her going up against
Victor.
Lily happily said yes to Cane's proposal. He swept her up in his arms and
carried her out of the book store. They celebrated their reunion and
engagement by making love. Lily noted that it was like a "wrinkle in time"
because the last time she'd been in his bed, they were happy and engaged.
Cane assured her that Chloe was never in his bed.
Chloe was shocked by Billy's proposal and even had him repeat it. "We're
going to be so happy," she wept. Then Billy explained that their marriage
would be in name only so that he could be Cordelia's father. Chloe became
infuriated and kicked Billy out. Jill showed up and the ladies actually had
a civil conversation when Chloe revealed that she rejected Billy's proposal.
Jill realized that Chloe is in love with him and noted that her son is
"adorable" but often irresponsible. Chloe mentioned that Esther was
somewhere with Roger.
At the coffeehouse, Amber, Jana, Kevin and Daniel sold "Find Katherine"
T-shirts. A worried Murphy showed up and reported that he still hasn't heard
from Kay. Murphy even donned one of the T-shirts and Kevin asked to see
Kay's good-bye note. Kevin figured out the name Clint" was hidden in the
note.
Amber went to the Chancellor house and gave Chloe a miniature version of the
"Find Katherine" shirts as a baby gift. Chloe admitted that she'd lied about
Cordelia's paternity and lamented how everyone hates her. Amber, who's
played "Who's the Daddy?" herself (on B&B with Rick and Raymond) and has
also tricked Cane into marriage, was, of course, very understanding. A
grateful Chloe offered to let her friend hold the baby; as she did, Amber
became misty-eyed as she recalled her baby who died (also on B&B). Later,
Jack stopped by to see his niece and told Chloe that she and Delia are now
part of his family. He invited them to move into the Abbott mansion, but she
wasn't sure. He encouraged her to really think about giving Delia a life
with her two parents.
Billy asked Ashley for advice on his situation and Victor also chimed in
since he was there, as well. Victor was impressed that Billy wanted to fight
for his child. Ashley was more practical and reminded Billy that he'd have
to give up his bachelor lifestyle if he intended to be a good parent. She
suggested he follow his heart. After, Billy met up with Jack, who was
confident that he'd changed Chloe's mind about the proposal. Billy then got
a call from Chloe, asking if they could talk. Meanwhile, Victor met with the
mystery woman, whose face was in surgical bandages.
An appalled Jill came by Crimson Lights and gave a large sum of money to buy
out the "Find Katherine" T-shirts so she could dump them. An unfazed Kevin
realized he could just use that money to produce more inventory.
At the motel, Roger tied up Esther, Katherine and Annie. Clint then ordered
Esther to write a note to Chloe that said she is on her honeymoon. Esther
spat that Jill was right about Roger being a horrible person. Kay perked up
at Jill's name and asked how her daughter is doing. "She's well..." Esther
hedged. "A bitch?" Kay finished. "Grade A," Esther noted. Esther also
informed Kay that Kay is now a great grandparent. As they talked, Kay tried
to get her hands free. Roger became suspicious and Kay complained about her
circulation. He finally gave in and untied her. Kay knocked him down then
untied Annie and Esther. Annie picked up her knife and threw it at her
ex-husband. It ended up grazing Roger's shoulder and he complained that she
ruined "a new shirt!" Roger then grabbed the knife and ordered them to stop.
Tuesday
Billy went to Jimmy's to drown his sorrows. Jack joined him and asked if
Billy followed up with Chloe's phone call. Billy didn't see the point since
she'd already turned down his proposal. On the other hand, he also feared
what he'd have to do if she accepted it. Jack reminded him that Billy had to
think about what his daughter needed and thought Billy and Chloe should get
married.
At the Chancellor Estate, Chloe confided in her baby about whether or not
she made the right choice by turning down Billy. Jill joined them and cooed
over Cordelia. Jill then noticed that Esther was gone; Chloe explained that
Esther went on her honeymoon with Roger. Chloe revealed that Billy was
coming over to talk; Jill assured her that whether she ended up with Billy
or not, her house was Chloe's home. Later, Billy came by and Jill urged him
to be good to Cordelia. "Hi," he said tentatively to Chloe. "Can we try this
again?" Chloe agreed that she wanted to talk. She said that she needs to be
realistic for Delia's sake and she doesn't want the baby having a life
without a father; she added that she knows Billy doesn't hate her and agreed
to marry him after all. She invited him to move in, explaining that she
feared Cane would try to take Delia. Billy wasn't so sure he wanted to do
that, but promised he'd be there as often as possible. He worried that
they'd resent each other if they lived together. "This baby binds us
together for the rest of our lives," he noted as he held his daughter.
"Let's see how it goes, have some fun." He added that he couldn't be with
one woman. Chloe understood that he wouldn't fall in love with her, but
insisted that he commit to Delia. He promised he was in it for the long-haul
when it came to their child.
Noah and Eden celebrated his birthday at Crimson Lights. Victor called to
wish him a happy birthday and cancelled their dinner plans. He then asked
Noah to come by the ranch at a certain time so he could give him a gift.
Turns out, Noah's family was planning a surprise 16th birthday party for
him. Nikki joined the guests, who included Victor, Phyllis, Sharon, Nick,
Ashley and Abby. She and Victor were actually cordial as they discussed how
quickly Noah was growing. After, Noah and Eden arrived at the party. Abby
and Sharon weren't happy to see that Eden was with him. Nick lectured him
about sneaking behind their backs; Noah replied that he'd leave if Eden
couldn't stay. Sharon was frustrated. Soon, Jack arrived, which surprised
everyone. Victor pointed out that it's a family gathering, but Jack said
that he wanted to remain in Noah's life.... Abby blamed Eden for Brad's
death. Eden apologized, but Abby wouldn't accept it. "You can't bring my dad
back," Abby stated. Eden decided to leave.... Jack approached an
upset-looking Sharon, but she insisted that she was fine... Nick and Phyllis
desperately tried to get the party going by announcing that it was time for
cake and presents. Later, Victor gave Noah a new car. Nick wished his father
had discussed it with him and Sharon first, but Victor wanted to make his
grandson happy. Nick agreed to let Noah go for a short drive; of course, he
went to see Eden. He told Eden that he loves her and they kissed.... Nikki
noted that Victor's been a very generous gift-giver, between giving Noah a
car and Abby a horse. Victor didn't want to discuss Abby and Ashley with
her.
Billy called Jack and unenthusiastically informed him that he and Chloe are
now engaged. Chloe then spoke with Jack and agreed to take him up on his
offer to live in the Abbott pool house.
Amber and Daniel went to Jimmy's to meet someone who had a tip about
Katherine.... In the hotel, Clint tended to Roger's wound. Clint held one of
Amber's fliers and lamented about how complicated the situation was getting
now that people were looking for Kay. He told Roger to just get Esther's
money already. Esther explained that she inherited half the estate. Kay
suggested Esther sell her half to Jill so they could get the money and be
released. Clint still didn't believe that his prisoner was Kay. Still, he
had Roger set up a meeting with Jill. Esther didn't want to leave Kay, but
Kay assured her that she'd be fine. "Technically, we're still on our
honeymoon," Roger told Esther, which angered Annie. Annie blamed Kay for
making her lose her "Rogie-poo." Kay couldn't believe that Annie was in love
with Roger. "The two of you were meant for each other," she helpfully
assured Annie.... At the bar, a clueless Amber met with her tipster, who
turned out to be Clint. Clint lied that he saw Kay leaving town on a bus.
Amber wondered why he remembered Kay in particular; he explained that he
helped her up when she tripped. He stated that he thought Katherine was
dead; Amber replied that it was Marge who'd died, and she was positive that
the living woman was Kay.... Esther and Roger met with Jill and asked if
they could sell her Esther's half of the mansion. Jill refused, explaining
that she feared if Esther left, she wouldn't get to see Cordelia. Esther
pleaded for the sale, but Jill wouldn't budge.... Gina joined Daniel and
Amber at the bar. Amber finished her conversation with Clint and sat down
with them. Gina warned Amber that the man she'd been speaking with ‹ Clint ‹
was a con artist. She filled in Daniel and Amber on Clint's history and how
he'd gotten Marge to pose as Kay. Amber realized Clint was the name on Kay's
note.... Roger and Esther returned and informed Clint that Jill turned them
down. Clint was furious and planned to take care of the three women.
Katherine vowed to prove her identity to him once and for all.
Jack met up with Jill at Crimson Lights and informed her that Billy and
Chloe are now getting married. They agreed it was for the best. Jill was
prepared to make sure they had their privacy. Jack then revealed that
they're moving in with him. Jill refused to let the baby leave her house....
Billy told Chloe that his lawyer friend, Rafe, will help them fight for
Delia. He and Chloe agreed to work together to keep their baby from Cane.
Wednesday
To prove her identity, Katherine remembered that she had her appendix
removed. Clint pointed out that Marge also had hers out so that there would
be matching scars. Kay then recalled that Clint gave Gina diamond earrings
for her birthday. "I'll be damned, it is you," admitted a shocked Clint.
Convinced that Kay is Kay, Clint wrote up a ransom note and gave it to
Esther to deliver.
Amber was determined to track down Clint and called Kevin for help. He met
here at the dive bar and she found the wrapper to the mint Clint had
previously popped in his mouth. Kevin called the distributor of the mints
and got the names of motels they deliver to.
At the GCAC, Phyllis ratted to Nick that Sharon swiped a small silver frame
from the ranch. Nick advised his wife not to worry about Sharon and left for
the gym. Phyllis then tipped off Jack that something is "very wrong" with
Sharon but he scoffed at her concern. Phyllis suggested that Jack still
"reach out" to Sharon.
At the coffeehouse, Sharon was baffled to find the silver frame in her
purse. Later, she ran into Nick and he asked if she took the silver frame
from his dad's house. "It is a picture of Noah, and I thought about having
the frame engraved for Victor's birthday," Sharon covered. She wasn't
happy when Nick confessed that Phyllis saw her take the frame.
Jill expressed her disappointment that Chloe was moving to the Abbott
estate. Chloe explained she and Delia will be living in the pool house but
Billy will stay at his penthouse. "A modern marriage in a modern world,"
Chloe sighed. Jill urged her to think more about her decision.
Billy was upset with Jack for convincing Chloe to move in by saying Billy
had feelings for her. Jack insisted that it "could work" but Billy was just
as adamant that Chloe "is not the one for me." Chloe called Billy and asked
to see him. When they met, Chloe said that agreeing to his terms of marriage
was a mistake. "If you want to be Delia's father, then I am part of the
package, which means that there are strings attached," Chloe spelled out.
"So either you decide to grow up and deal with it, or you turn around and
you say good-bye now." Billy agreed to move in with them to "see how it
goes." He bussed Chloe on the forehead and they hugged.
Gina informed Jill that Clint was back in town. Jill deduced that Clint and
Marge are working together to pull a con job on Kay's family. Later, Esther
approached Jill with the ransom note and sobbed that Mrs. C is alive. Jill
refused to pay and said that Esther was being duped by Roger, Clint and
Marge.... Nick gave Sharon's reason for taking the frame to Phyllis... Kevin
and Amber showed up at Clint's motel and asked Annie if she had seen
Katherine Chancellor. Annie claimed she hadn't and sent them on their
way.... Jack was thrilled when Chloe showed up at the Abbott house to move
in. She explained that Billy was packing up his stuff too. Jack then left a
voice mail for Sharon to call him.... Billy showed up at Sharon's suite and
they started mauling each other.
Thursday
Cane and Lily happily went to the Chancellor Estate to tell Jill that they
were engaged. Jill was thrilled. She then informed them that Chloe went to
live with Billy at the Abbott mansion. At the manse, Chloe fretted when
Billy didn't arrive. Jack had confidence in his brother.... Ashley arrived
and enjoyed cooing over Cordelia. Chloe filled her in on her and Billy's
plans to wed. Ash feared that Billy wasn't ready to settle down. When Chloe
went to take a shower, Ashley warned Jack not to get Chloe's hopes up about
their brother's ability to commit.... Billy left Sharon's and checked his
voicemail. He was annoyed that Chloe had left him so many messages, then
went home and crashed. He ignored another phone call. Later, Chloe came by
with the baby and reminded him that he was supposed to be moving in with
her. He assured her that he'd be there as soon as he finished packing. Soon,
Cane and Lily stopped by to confront Chloe and Billy. Cane warned them that
he's suing for full custody. Chloe and Billy formed a united front as the
couples faced off and announced their engagement. Cane wasn't fazed. Delia
then began crying and Billy insisted on being the one to hold his child.
Cane didn't think Billy would stick around. Chloe reminded them that she and
Billy are Delia's parents. Cane again threatened to sue for custody. After
they left, Chloe and Billy and Lily and Cane each vowed to be there for
Cordelia. Lily promised Cane that she'd help him raise the baby.
Jack and Ashley lamented the fact that Gloria had been released from prison.
She wanted to get back at Glo, but Jack ‹ surprisingly ‹ suggested that they
just drop it. Ashley thought he'd lost his mind. Jack didn't want to drag
Jabot's name through the mud any longer by prolonging a lawsuit. He assured
his sister that karma would get Gloria. "Karma?" a disbelieving Ashley
yelled. She insisted that they meet with Billy and Traci to discuss it
further.
Jana welcomed an Gloria ‹ who was wearing sunglasses and a hat to keep
herself hidden from the press at Crimson Lights. Kevin informed them about
Amber's "informant" Clint could be the man who'd kidnapped Kay. He explained
how he and Amber searched for her, with no luck. Jana reminded him that she
needed him to help run the coffeehouse. They urged Kevin to let the idea of
Kay being alive go, but he was certain that Mrs. Chancellor was alive.... A
couple of patrons harassed Gloria, but Jana stuck up for her mother-in-law.
Jill informed Jeffrey that their fling wasn't going to be anything more. He
admitted that he still loves Gloria. He and Jill agreed that it was "fun"
between them. She encouraged him to return to Gloria... At the coffeehouse,
Glo sulked over the turn her life had taken. Jana encouraged her to hold her
head high and ignore the comments. Gloria then revealed that she'd caught
Jeff with Jill. Jana was horrified. "You deserve so much better than that!"
she said. "Ditch him." Gloria agreed that leaving her wayward hubby was
probably for the best ... and signed the divorce papers right then and
there. "Jeffrey Bardwell," she said aloud, "Consider yourself dumped."
Later, Jeff came by the coffeehouse and told Glo that he and Jill are over and he wants Gloria again. Jana told him to get lost, but Gloria was willing
to hear him out. Jeff stated that he worshipped Gloria, but she didn't buy
it and punched him! Jeff still wanted to start over, but she told him that
she'd signed the divorce papers. Jana threatened to call the cops if Jeff
didn't leave. "This is not over," he told Gloria as he departed. Jana
applauded Gloria for staying strong.
At the Chancellor Estate, Jill and Jack argued over who should be CEO of
Jabot. Soon, Ashley joined them and argued with them about keeping the
lawsuit against Gloria going. Jill promised to take their concerns into
consideration. Ashley and Jack were both miffed that they'd gone behind each
other's backs to complain to Jill.
At the hotel, Clint, Annie and Roger kept Esther and Katherine tied to the
bed. Clint schemed on how to stop the "kids" from searching for Kay. Esther
promised to "work things out," but Clint decided it was time to end the
whole operation. "What do we do with these two?" Roger asked. Esther and Kay
were then moved back into the living room; Esther tried to plead with Clint
to give her another chance to get money. He refused. She was ready to give
up hope, but Kay urged her to have faith. Later, Kevin called the hotel, but
didn't say anything. Clint freaked out.... Annie served the prisoners
Chinese food.... Kevin went to the hotel; Clint answered the door, while
Roger ushered the women into the bedroom. Meanwhile, Kevin demanded that
Clint give him information on Kay. Clint denied knowing who Kay is and said
that the only woman in the hotel room was his sister. He then invited Kevin
in and caught Fisher in a headlock; while he held Kevin still, Annie
injected him with a syringe. Kevin fell unconscious. Clint showed Annie and
Roger a bomb; Roger reminded him that Clint had promised that no one would
get hurt. Clint was willing to do whatever it took to eliminate the
witnesses so he wouldn't go back to prison. Clint the placed an unconscious
Kevin's hand on the bomb and took a picture so it would look like Kevin was
responsible. After, Clint instructed them to put Kevin in the trunk of his
car. Kevin came to in the trunk and began to panic.... Roger and Annie
gagged Esther and Kay; Clint filled them in on his plan to blow up the hotel
room with them in it!
Friday
At Crimson Lights, Jana applauded Gloria for the way Gloria dumped Jeffrey. Amber joined them and wondered where Kevin was. Glo noted that her son had been gone for a long time. Amber listened to the last phone message he'd given her and planned to track him down.... Gloria and Jana argued over whether or not "Katherine" was for real; Jana believed the woman was an impostor.... Amber had an idea of where Kevin was and wanted to go find him. Jana was sick of Kevin getting involved in the Kay caper.
Meanwhile, Clint drugged Kevin then stuffed him in the trunk of his car. A claustrophobic Kevin came to and screamed for help. As he tried to escape, he flashed back to his childhood when Terrible Tom would keep him trapped in
a closet. In the hotel room, Clint tied up Esther and Katherine and planned to blow up the room with a bomb. Annie and Roger thought he was going too far, but Clint was determined to get rid of them. Esther and Kay desperately tried to escape, but the three kidnappers left them alone with the explosive
device. Esther went into panic mode but Kay screamed at her to keep it together. They called out for help.
Noah and Sharon wheeled Doris into the coffeehouse. Noah then waved hello to his new friend, Mia, and asked if he could hang out with her. Sharon was still wary about her son's activities. Sharon then promised to spend more time with Doris, but she reminded Sharon that Sharon has her own life. Sharon then suddenly switched gears and said she wanted to find a job. Doris tried to get her to open up about her odd behavior; a stressed Sharon ended up spilling coffee on her mom. Sharon went to get napkins and snatched an
item that was sitting on the coffeehouse counter. Doris wheeled over and reached into Sharon's purse to show her daughter what she'd taken; Sharon had no idea how the item got into her purse. "You put it in there," Doris stated and pleaded with her to see a doctor. Sharon insisted that she was
fine.
Abby arrived at the coffeehouse, where Noah introduced her to Mia. Abby accused him of using Mia as a cover so he can sneak around with Eden. Still, she promised not to blow his cover. After, Noah called Eden to tell her that his plan was working.
Paul was surprised that Heather spoke with Victor on Adam's behalf, especially after Adam deceived her. Heather replied that she felt she had to do something when she saw Adam in jail, and had compassion for him. "Adam doesn't deserve compassion," Paul seethed. Later, Heather paid Adam a visit
in prison. She gave him the name of a public defender who she thought could help him better than Rafe. Adam didn't want her handouts and was still angry with her for turning him in. He demanded that she be escorted out.
Phyllis and Nicholas went to the GCAC for Victor's birthday, making out as they arrived.... Victoria and J.T. also attended and discussed Victor and Ashley's relationship. Victoria didn't think the pair would last. Nikki ran into Victoria and realized it was Victor's birthday. She sadly looked on as Victor greeted his guests. After, the three couples sat down to dine. Victor toasted to a great year ahead. Later, Nick and Phyllis excused themselves so they could smooch in the lobby. "This marriage is everything to me," he assured her, promising that Sharon wouldn't come between them. Phyllis went to the ladies' room — just as a hurt Sharon appeared, having overheard Nick's statements.... Nikki ran into Victor at the GCAC bar and wished him a happy birthday. She showed him a photo of Kay's emerald ring and asked if he could make sure that the ring didn't get sold during an upcoming auction. He agreed to try. Later, Paul joined Nikki at the GCAC and she filled him on Victor agreeing to help her. Paul didn't trust Newman.... Victor asked Ashley what kind of gift she got him. She insisted that she hadn't purchased one for him; she then revealed that she's pregnant! Victor was overjoyed and wanted to share the good news, but she asked him not to. They and the others returned to the table so Victor could open his gifts. Victor then announced Ashley's pregnancy. A stunned Nikki overheard him. Everyone was surprised, but happy for them. "All Nick and I got you was a shaving kit," cracked Phyllis. Nick later went upstairs to Sharon's suite and began kissing her.
In the hotel room, Kay tried to move her chair and ended up falling on the floor. Amber, getting a clue from Kevin's last phone message, returned to the hotel and searched for Kay. Gloria also went to track down Kevin. Amber heard Kay and Esther screaming for help. Amber busted into the room using
the laundry cart and hurried to untie them.... Clint, Annie and Roger fled the scene as Kevin shrieked in the trunk. Annie suggested they let him go, but Clint refused. In the trunk, Kevin had another memory of being locked in by his dad. Finally, Clint opened the trunk. "Can I come out now, please?" Kevin whispered. Annie felt sorry for him. Clint demanded that Annie give Kevin some more drugs.... Amber untied Kay, just as Gloria arrived. As the bomb ticked down, the three furiously untied Esther. The bomb then exploded.
