Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of June 2, 2008

Monday

Cane and Lily reveled in their post-sex afterglow. "I'm the luckiest man in the whole world," he purred, just before Devon and Chloe busted in. Chloe excitedly yakked about their trip to New York but suddenly ran to the bathroom as if she needed to hurl. When she returned, Chloe seemed even sicker and Lily said she would go to New York alone. Later, Chloe called Cane and asked him to bring her laptop and some ginger ale. After hanging up, she started munching on chips and seemed perfectly fine.

David tried to get Paul to leave Nikki's office but the P.I. wouldn't budge. David finally asked if this had anything to do with his ex-stepdaughter
Mina. Paul copped to his curiosity and David professed that he loved both his wives then explained that Mina was cut out of her mother's will due to a drug problem. Paul found the story hard to believe and left without seeing Nikki. Paul later learned that Mina had indeed been expelled from school due to a cocaine problem. He confronted Mina with the truth but she still
insisted that David killed her mother.

Jack asked Katherine if she was the one who anonymously donated millions to the Abbott Foundation and Cassie's Challenge but she denied it. Jack went for a workout at the gym where Jeffrey revealed that Gloria is broke. Jeff
asked Jack to allow Gloria to move into the Abbott house. Jack then surmised that Jeff was still in love with his ex which seemed to hit a nerve with Bardwell. Back at the loft, Jack began playing with the letters of the mysterious benefactor, Marks Algoria, and realized they spelled out Gloria's Karma.

Kevin told Nikki that Jill fired his mother. Meanwhile, Michael advised a depressed Gloria to find a job. "Where?" she sighed and he suggested working for Kevin fulltime. She went to Crimson Lights where she asked Kevin to hire
her. He was reluctant to do so but finally caved. While she was working behind the counter, Jack showed up and asked to speak to Gloria on the
patio. There, he asked what happened to her money. She admitted to "bad investments" and that she was fired from Jabot. Jack then offered the pool house for Gloria to live in "rent free for as long as you like." Stunned, Gloria hugged Jack.

Over lunch, Katherine told Amber that she wasn't sure about writing her book. Amber offered to help but Katherine said Amber would be too busy coming up with new design sketches for the next issue of Restless Style. Since Amber was discouraged about her last designs not getting much attention, she was buoyed by Kay's faith.

Nikki confronted Jill about Gloria's termination but Jill didn't have time to discuss he subject, except to point out that she had been waiting for
Nikki to fire Gloria. Nikki finally cornered Jill and they loudly argued about their duties when Katherine arrived. "What the hell is going on?" she demanded and the battling ladies stated their cases about Gloria. Jill got upset when Kay sided with Nikki and stormed out.

Lauren and Michael worried about what Gloria will do with her life. "She's one martini away from a donkey basketball franchise," Michael lamented.... David was upset when the horse he bet on didn't win. He then called Walter for another loan.... Michael punched out Jeff at the GCAC.

Tuesday

Michael and Lauren were shocked when Gloria announced that she's moving
back into the Abbott mansion at Jack's invitation. "Maybe my quest for good
karma has inspired him," Glo theorized. After she left for her new digs,
Michael admitted to Lauren that he hit Jeffrey. While she applied ice to her
husband's injured hand, Michael predicted that Gloria living at the Abbott house is "a train wreck waiting to happen."

Sharon wasn't happy when Jack revealed that Gloria is "coming to live with
us." He explained that Glo gave away her money to charity and wanted to help
her, citing that his dad always gave second chances. Sharon argued that "you
made a huge decision without me," but Jack said that backing out now would be
like breaking a promise to his dad. Just as Jack was having second thoughts
about his offer, Gloria arrived with her garish portrait in hand and
chirped, "I'm home." Glo was less than thrilled when she learned she would
be sharing the pool house with Fisher the dog. Jack and Sharon couldn't help
but be touched by Gloria's genuine expression of gratitude. When Jack was
alone, he was surprised when John appeared and praised his son for "doing
the right thing" with Gloria. Jack tearfully asked if his dad was back for good and John said yes. Meanwhile, Gloria got settled in at the pool house.

Nick announced to Phyllis and Amber that he is trying to secure indie-rocker Katy Perry for their next cover. The musician's manager showed
up for a meeting and Nick made the pitch about putting Katy on the cover of
Restless Style. The manager wanted a CD insert of his client's music to go into the issue, but Nick said he would have to discuss that with his
partners. However, the manager wanted a decision right then and there.

Heather encountered Adam at the gym and they immediately started flirting. Since they were on opposite sides of the Jabot/Newman lawsuit, they agreed to keep business out of their private relationship. Phyllis showed up for a workout and spied Heather handing her key card to Adam. After Heather left, Phyllis started asking nosy questions; Adam wouldn't give anything up. Nick showed up and told Phyllis that he got the Katy cover, but was worried that he made the decision without Jack and Sharon's input.

Chloe made herself look sickly when Cane arrived. Chloe then tried to influence Cane by hoping out loud that Lily's modeling career wouldn't turn her into a diva. Cane was adamant that such a thing would never happen. When he tried to leave, Chloe pretended to be in distress. Devon and Lily then barged in because she missed her flight. Chloe got mad at Lily for blowing her chance with the agency, though it was obvious that she was more upset about not being able to spend time alone with Cane.

Wednesday

At the gym, Nick and Victoria were amused that their dad purchased a piece of modern art that looked like "a shark floating in green slime."

Cane asked Jill if Lily could be allowed to work for other agencies. Jill was reluctant to do so but Cane convinced her to amend Lily's contract. Meanwhile, as Lily tried to reschedule her flight to New York, Devon reminded that she is once again putting her modeling career before education. "I think you're doing this because Dru did it, and it makes you feel connected to her," surmised Devon.

Sharon and Jack informed Noah that Gloria is staying in the pool house but promised the lodger would be gone by the time he came back from summer camp. The couple headed to Restless Style where Jack proposed that Sabrina would make an interesting feature. Sharon said she would make the pitch to Sabrina first before they suggest the idea to their partners. Nick then appeared and revealed that he already booked rock musician Katy Perry for their next cover.

At the ranch, Victor offered to track down Sabrina's mom but she objected. "We're not very close," noted Sabrina who then announced her decision to ask Victoria to be her maid of honor. When Victor considered asking Adam to be part of the wedding party, Sabrina cautioned him to be mindful of Nick and Victoria's feelings.

Gloria showed up at Crimson Lights for her first day on the job. Jill and Jeffrey entered and were surprised to find Gloria behind the counter. "I knew the cosmetics industry wasn't challenging enough for you," Jill taunted, then sat at a table with Jeff, who gave Gloria a hard time. "Two more coffees, and make sure they're hot this time," he ordered. Fed up, Gloria spiked their coffees with hot sauce and served them. Jill spat out the foul-tasting brew but Jeff started choking and couldn't breathe. "Allergic... hot peppers," he gagged to a horrified Gloria. The paramedics arrived to whisk Jeff to the hospital. Kevin freaked when Jill threatened to sue.

Lily met with Neil and lamented how easy her mom balanced a career and family. Cane arrived and announced that she was no longer exclusive to Jabot. "The sky's the limit, baby," he cheered. Lily, however, announced she is giving up modeling.

At the art gallery, Sharon approached Sabrina about a Restless Style feature. She was hesitant but agreed to do it if Nick approves. Sabrina then sought out Victoria and asked her to serve as matron of honor but Mrs. Hellstrom answered, "Absolutely not." A defeated Sabrina met up with Victor and filled him in on his daughter's decision. "I'm heartbroken," Sabrina sighed. Victor visited Victoria and asked her to change to her mind, but she refused. Meanwhile, Adam showed a softer side when he observed Sabrina's disappointment.

Sharon told Jack that Sabrina would do the profile if Nick gives his okay, but Sharon was unsure if that would happen. "Nick took it upon himself to hire our next cover model," Jack explained. "It may be just the opportunity we're looking for to get what we want." Jack then proposed the feature to Nick but he was totally against it.

Thursday

Kevin fired Gloria. After she left the coffeehouse, Michael showed up and
found out about their mother's latest antics. He headed over to the hospital
where Gloria was checking on Jeffrey, but a furious Jill prevented her. "He
is barely alive in there," Jill raged. "So you will go in there over my dead
body." Michael showed up and escorted Glo away. Meanwhile, a distressed Jeff
jotted a letter confessing his love to Gloria. The doctor proclaimed that
Jeff could be released and a relieved Jill insisted he come back to the
Chancellor estate to recover. When Jill wasn't looking, Jeff pocketed his
love note.

Victoria and Nikki were sad that trusted Newman ranch majordomo Miguel was
moving away to care for a sick relative. Victoria also shared how she turned
down Sabrina's request to be her matron of honor. Meanwhile, Victor and
Sabrina set a wedding date and he asked Adam to be his best man. Adam
suggested that his dad check with Nick first. Nikki showed up and wanted to
pick out a keepsake to send to Miguel. She and Victor decided on a clock,
then Nikki told Victor that their kids needed him. After Nikki left, Sabrina
told Nick that she wants to be surrounded by his family at their wedding. Victor decided the first step is to ask Nick to be his best man.

Phyllis, Jack and Sharon tried to change Nick's mind about doing a feature
on Sabrina but he still said no. Meanwhile, Amber suggested that Adrian
write for Restless Style and he thought doing some freelance work would be a good idea. She returned to work and informed Sharon and Jack that Gloria
poisoned Jeff. "We have an assassin living in our pool house," Sharon
snarked to her husband. Adrian showed up and offered to write for the
magazine. Jack thought the professor would be an obvious choice for the
Sabrina story, but they still needed Nick to approve. When Amber was
depressed that Daniel hasn't answered her e-mails, Phyllis schemed to
distract Amber by having Adrian set up a desk space next to hers.

Gloria found out that Jeff was no longer registered at the hospital but
couldn't find out if he had been released or died. She then asked Lauren for a job at her boutique.

Nick conferred with his mother about the Sabrina article and Nikki urged him
to go ahead with it. "Somebody's going to do it," pointed out Nikki. "It
might as well be you." Nick returned to Restless Style and gave his okay for the Sabrina article. Victor showed up to talk with his son but when Nick
dissed Sabrina for asking Victoria to be her matron of honor, Victor didn't
bring up the best man topic. He returned home and appointed Adam to stand up
for him.

Friday

Both Nikki and Victor geared up for the pre-trial hearing of Jabot's patent infringement lawsuit against Newman. "After the judge has looked at the lab report, he will send Nikki a message," growled Victor to Adam. "Never, ever to take on my company. Or me, for that matter." The guys plus Michael squared off against Nikki and Heather in the Jabot boardroom. The judge reviewed the evidence and advised both sides to settle, but no one would budge. The judge informed Heather to make a motion and the court would consider it in order to avoid a lengthy trial. Heather and Nikki were confident that they were on the brink of victory.

Gloria called the Chancellor house to see if Jeffrey was there. "Jeffrey died last night," Jill announced and hung up. Gloria was horrified, then begged Sharon to call to check on Jeff. Meanwhile, Jill told Jeff that Gloria was constantly calling and he wanted to talk to her. Jill advised against it but Jeff insisted that Glo wasn't aware of his allergy. Sharon then called and asked about Jeff. Jill put him on the phone and Gloria took over the call from Sharon. Glo begged for his forgiveness but Jeff said the "least you could do is apologize in person." Gloria headed over but first encountered Jill, who lied that Jeff told her everything. Gloria assumed Jill was referring to the tainted moisturizer and blabbed, "He swore to me he'd never tell a soul." Jeff showed up and Gloria angrily confronted him, then stormed out. Jeff was left perplexed while Jill was convinced more than ever that Gloria is hiding something.

Paul confirmed with David that his story was correct about Mina's drug addiction, but still voiced his concern over Chow depleting his second wife's fortune. David pointed out that was due to his former gambling habit, but Paul wasn't appeased by the past tense reference. Later, Brad warned David not to let Paul find out about David's gambling debts. David then met up with Walter for a loan. Paul saw the two men together and later approached Walter. The loan shark got suspicious and phoned David, who immediately realized that Paul was snooping around. "Make sure your problem with this dude does not become my problem," Walter huffed.

Noah worried to Jack about Fisher's well being around Gloria. Jack assured his stepson that he would look out for the pooch.... Paul checked out Walter and learned he is a loan shark.... Gloria told Michael that she wanted to confess to the police about contaminating the face cream.... Sharon told Jack that she wanted Gloria out of the pool house by the time Noah returned from camp.... David confessed to Nikki that Paul was investigating him and that the P.I. will reveal that her husband is a killer.
