Y&R Week of July 28, 2008
Monday
Michael informed Victor that David and Nikki's limo had crashed. Victor rushed to the accident site but was stopped by an officer. "It's my ex-wife in there!" Vic declared but he was told that the female passenger had already been taken to the hospital plus the limo drive was killed instantly. A gravely injured David was being treated on the scene by paramedics. Victor looked into the limo and was horrified to see Sabrina's earring. He demanded that David tell him if Sabrina was in the car. "Yeah," David gasped and died.
Paul told the ER doctor that Nikki could be ailing because a drug may have been slipped into her ginger ale. Nikki's blood pressure began to dip precipitously and she had to be treated — stat! Later, Nikki was stabilized and she asked Paul what happened. He explained that David drugged her drink. "He tried to kill you," Paul announced.
Phyllis revealed to Daniel that Amber had confessed to sleeping with Adrian. Daniel ordered his mother to butt out of his life and stormed away. He showed up at the apartment to find Amber packing up. She admitted she is moving to California and Daniel finally acknowledged that his mom treated Amber badly. Daniel told Amber to unpack, and she asked if they were back together. "I'm here," is all that he would allow. Later, Phyllis came banging on their door but they didn't answer because they were too busy having sex.
Nick and Victoria were notified of their mother's health crisis and rushed to the hospital. There, J.T. explained that David tried to poison Nikki. "I should have kicked that bastard out of Mom's life a long time ago," fumed Nick. He and Victoria check on their mom and Paul explained that David's real name is Angelo Serafini. Word came that David died in the limo accident and an upset Nikki asked for her kids to leave the room. Once they did, Nikki began to sob and asked Paul why she was mourning such a monster. "Because you're one hell of a good woman," Paul affirmed, then added that Sabrina was also in the limo.
Victor rushed to the hospital and was told that Sabrina lost the baby.
Victor wanted his wife released as soon as possible so she could recover at home. The doctor informed Victor that Sabrina's liver was severely lacerated and that she doesn't have much time to live. Victor refused to believe the grim prognosis and wanted the best specialists to be flown in to treat his wife. Sabrina woke up and Victor told her about the miscarriage. She realized she was dying but Victor insisted, "I won't let anything happen to you." Meanwhile, Nikki got out of her hospital bed and shuffled over to where Sabrina was being treated, Nikki was visibly shaken when she saw Victor hovering over his wife.
Upon finding out about Sabrina, Phyllis urged Nick to be with Victor but Nick knew that his dad didn't want to see him. Victoria was overcome with grief about Sabrina and reached out to Victor but he told her to "Please kindly leave." Victoria fled and then tearfully urged Nick to check in on their dad.
Tuesday
At the hospital, Victor kept vigil over an injured Sabrina. Katherine
arrived to offer support. Victor blamed Nikki for the reason why Sabrina
ended up in David's car after the gala.
Meanwhile, J.T. and Victoria came to take Nikki home from the hospital.
Nikki asked if they knew how Sabrina is doing, but Victoria didn't know.
The doctor then reported that morphine was found in Nikki's system. "How could I be so stupid?" she wondered aloud, realizing David had been behind her drugging.
At Jabot, Jill and Brad discussed what Nikki's future would be at Jabot.
Jill believed Nikki would have to resign. Heather then told them to turn on
the news; they learned about Sabrina and David's accident. Brad was shocked when Jill informed him that she was going to take over Jabot. She confirmed it soon after during a press conference.
Jack learned about the crash after going online at Restless Style.
One of his associates suggested he put the news in the magazine. Jack agreed to the photos for a hefty price, but wanted exclusive rights. Later, Sharon came by the office and spied the photos of Sabrina online. Jack revealed that he purchased all the photos so no one could publish them. He regretted publishing the scandalous article on Sabrina and blamed himself for the accident; Sharon told him not to blame himself. He later ordered a fourth printing of the magazine, even without Nick and Phyllis being there to approve the move.
At the Newman Ranch, Adam told reporters that the family had no comments about the accident. Meanwhile, he took over the business at Newman so that Victor wouldn't have to deal with it. Later, Adam read in the paper that Skye was missing. Worried, he called her.... Nicholas paid Victor a visit at the hospital, but Victor didn't want to see him. Nick refused to leave. Michael agreed with Nick that he should be there for his father. He then informed Nick that Sabrina was pregnant, but lost the baby. Baldwin promised to get Victor some answers about how the accident occurred. Later, Neil came by the hospital and assured Victor that he'd handle everything at Newman. Victor tried to remain hopeful about Sabrina's condition. After, Adam was surprised when Neil told him that Victor wanted Neil to take charge of the company in Vic's absence.
Kay stopped by the ranch and asked Nikki if she'd been drinking. Nikki
revealed that she'd been poisoned by David. J.T. then found an empty vial of morphine left by David. Kay was appalled. J.T. and Paul then informed them that David was connected to the mob and Ji Min's death. Victoria was upset with J.T. for keeping the information from her, even though Paul explained that he asked his partner to keep quiet. Victoria wished she could go back and change things with Sabrina. Nikki was horrified when Kay revealed that Sabrina had been pregnant and lost the baby.
Victor sat with Sabrina, whose condition was getting worse. Sabrina smiled at him and tried to keep up a brave face. "I love you," she whispered. Victor promised her that she'd survive this and they'd have a happy life together. Sabrina apologized for losing their baby, but he assured her that it wasn't her fault. Her heart rate then began to suddenly climb. Later, Adam went to the hospital and Victor told him that Sabrina was stabilized. Later, the doctor told Michael and Nick that Sabrina's prognosis didn't look good.
Wednesday
After having sex, Amber assumed she and Daniel were back together, but he cautioned her to "slow down." He explained that he couldn't stop thinking about her tryst with Adrian and needed time to figure out what to do next. Daniel got a call about Sabrina and headed to the hospital, leaving behind a depressed Amber.
Chloe changed the date on her first ultrasound from July 23rd to July 30th. She showed up at Amber's place and announced she is pregnant with Cane's baby. Chloe suggested that Amber get pregnant by Daniel but she nixed that idea. After Chloe left, Phyllis arrived and announced "I'm not going to fight your relationship with my son anymore." The ladies called a truce.
At the crash scene, Paul learned that David's driver wasn't employed with the limo company and that his car had been forced off the road. "This was no accident," Paul summed up. Heather showed up to represent Jabot and Paul gave his daughter the scoop that David was "all mobbed up" and probably killed Ji Min. Heather saw a photo of Walter and remembered him at the gala, talking to the limo driver.
Katherine and Nikki were stunned to find out that Jill assumed the role of Jabot CEO. Meanwhile, Brad was still miffed with Jill but she said her decision was in the best interest of Jabot. Jill was surprised when Nikki showed up for duty. Later, Paul told Nikki that David's death was most likely a hit by Walter. Meanwhile, Heather told Jill that David murdered Ji Min.
Gloria and Jeffrey reveled in the fact that falling Jabot stock would make it easier for them to buy it up. "And own the company," clucked Glo. After hearing that Jill named herself CEO, Glo surmised that a disgruntled Brad could make a handy ally. At Jabot, Gloria buttered up Brad, then secretly bought a block of Jabot stock without Jeffrey's knowledge but at the same moment, he was doing the same thing.
At the hospital, Nick told Phyllis that they weren't moving off the ranch. "Sooner or later, Dad's going to need me, whether he knows it or not," Nick predicted. Victoria showed up — determined to see Sabrina — but Victor stopped her. However, Sabrina okayed Victoria's visit and the gals reminisced about happier times in Italy.
J.T. told Victor that David's car was intentionally forced off the road. J.T. added that Walter had ordered the hit on David.... Lily was outraged when Chloe presented her with the ultrasound.... Nikki was besieged by reporters.... Daniel suggested to Amber that they "go back to being friends." ... Victor vowed to Victoria that he would find the person responsible for Sabrina's condition.
Thursday
Amber was stunned that Daniel wanted to be friends after they just had sex.
"I've said I'm sorry more times than I can even count," Amber wailed. "Can
you just not get past this?" But Daniel admitted he couldn't forgive her for
sleeping with Adrian. Amber begged for a second chance which touched Daniel.
Just when it looked like they were getting close, Adrian showed up, furious
over how his article on Sabrina was altered.
Victor was heartened when Sabrina said she was feeling better. Jana showed
up and Victor excused himself. Sabrina told Jana that she was pregnant, but
lost the baby. Sabrina also explained that she isn't going to get better.
Jill rescued Nikki from the reporters, then lit into her about David. "That
lying piece of scum that you brought into our company killed Ji Min," Jill
spat and Nikki couldn't defend herself. Lamented Nikki, "I loved him. I
married him. I slept with him, and the very thought of that makes me sick."
Although she knew dialysis wasn't doing her any good, Sabrina agreed to
stick with the procedure to make Victor feel better. The doctor informed
Victor that there was no change in Sabrina's liver function. Nick told his
dad, "I know you and I aren't really getting along right now, but I want you
to know that I love you. That'll never change." Victor showed Sabrina a
photo of a chateau in France he bought for her.
Nikki told Katherine she wanted to resign. Kay tried to talk her pal out of
quitting but Nikki urged her to go be with Jill. Kay found a grieving Jill
and held her as she sobbed about Ji Min.
Adam told Heather that he suspected David had a hand in Skye's
disappearance. Adam asked if Heather could convince Paul to search for Skye.
After Heather spoke with her father, Paul revealed that a stolen car
recovered in Louisiana could be the vehicle that ran David's limo off the
road. Heather wanted to meet with her old boss at the D.A.'s office to see
if David could be connected to other unsolved murders in Genoa City. Heather
later brought all her data on David to Dennis, who praised her work and
asked her to come back to work in his office. Heather accepted.
Nikki told Nick that she refused to mourn David. Nick advised that grief
will haunt her if she doesn't deal with it. He escorted his mom to the where
her horse was being kept. Nick urged Nikki to look at the horse and remember
the nice feelings she experienced when David first gave it to her. Nikki did
so, then broke down in tears.
Brad made a mysterious call.... Jana and Kevin decided they didn't want to
wait any longer to get married.... Brad suggested to Kay that he was better
suited to be Jabot's CEO.
Friday
Phyllis was peeved about Jack and Sharon crowing about magazine sales. An angry Adrian showed up. "What the hell did you guys do to me?" he demanded to know. Jack declared that he re-wrote the article and it was all based on fact. Adrian said he would've removed his byline if he knew what kind of article it was going to be. Sharon defended her husband's decision, but Phyllis told Adrian that what Jack did was "revolting."
Heather told Victoria that she is resigning from Jabot to return to the DA's office. Victoria admitted that she may be leaving too if her mother didn't stay.
Sabrina had trouble breathing, which brought hospital personnel rushing in. Victor refused to leave the room as his wife went into cardiac arrest. After a few minutes of frenzied activity, Sabrina was pronounced dead. Victor was stunned so Michael called Nick with the news. "You didn't even let me say good-bye," Victor sighed to his wife's body. He grew angry and vowed to avenge her death.
A tearful Nikki berated herself for being taken in by David. She told Nick that she wanted to sell the horse that David gave her. Nick left Nikki at his place so he could go back to the hospital. Nikki fell asleep and dreamed David was taunting her for being "such a fool."
On his way to the hospital, Nick stopped by Restless Style, where he was upset to learn that Jack had ordered a fourth printing of the recent issue. "You are a son of a bitch," Nick seethed. Adam called Nick with the news that Sabrina had died. Nick called Victoria and rushed out. Jack told Sharon, " Anybody who didn't buy a copy of Restless Style is going to buy one now because they want to know more about the life of this beautiful woman whose life was cut too short."
Nick and Victoria showed up at the hospital but couldn't see their father because he was in the room with Sabrina. Adam approached his siblings and said, "I'm glad I didn't leave when dad told us to." Victoria countered, "Yeah, we get it. You're the perfect son."
Nikki was devastated when someone called about Sabrina's death.... Victoria continued to beat herself up for being rude to Sabrina.... Upon seeing Nick and Victoria's concern for Victor, Michael admitted to Lauren, "I need my dad. I need to know who Lowell is." ... Adam was disgusted when Heather mentioned that Victoria had been resentful about being disinherited. "Circumstances being what they are, I'm next in line to run Newman Enterprises, and Victoria just can't handle that," Adam opined, then added, "I'm taking my legal name back. I'm Victor Adam Newman." ... As he grieved
by Sabrina's bedside, Victor looked up to see Nikki.
