Y&R Week of January 31, 2011

Monday

Jack and Adam met up to discuss how Victor made Skye disappear, as well as the Newman Fund. They tried to work together as partners, but clearly weren't pleased with the arrangement. Jack made some calls about Skye's stock and realized that she'd had insider information from an old acquaintance at Harvard. "Are we going to follow Skye's example or not?" Adam wondered. He wanted to call Skye's contact, but Jack didn't want to get busted by the FCC. "I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize that fund," Jack explained. "I can make money without cheating." Adam was confident that he could use his business skills to make it work. Jack suggested a healthy competition between them to add to their profits.

Meanwhile, Nick and Victor dined at the G.C.A.C. Victor promised to make some calls so that Nick could get full custody of Faith. Michael joined them and reported that Sharon has agreed to revisit the custody case.... Sharon was playing with Faith when she got a call about the custody hearing. The court told her to bring Faith in case the judge ruled in Nick's favor. Later, they met with the judge, who awarded full custody to Nick due to Sharon being charged with murder. Sharon insisted that she didn't hurt anyone. Nick coldly asked Michael to get Faith so she and Sharon could say good-bye and reminded Sharon that she could see the baby whenever she wanted. Sharon gave Faith a tearful good-bye and promised that they'd be together again soon. She begged Victor to do what's best for Faith, despite his feelings for Adam.

Sofia met with Tucker at the club and tried to explain why she covered for Cane about Blake. Tucker didn't want to hear it and ordered her to clean up the mess or go to jail. Yikes.... Colin joined Blake at the bar and asked what kind of game he was playing. Blake blamed Cane for the mess.... Neil and Malcolm went to Lily's to check on her. She assured them that she's not in danger. Neil asked where Cane was, but she didn't know. She was fed up with her husband's lies, but didn't want them to hurt Cane since he is their babies' father. "Was I wrong the whole time?" Lily wondered. Neil tried to comfort his daughter.... Mal was disappointed in Sofia for helping Cane.... Cane went to the Chancellor Estate and told Kay and Jill about his past. Colin paid Cane a visit. They went outside and Cane blamed him for Samantha's deaths. Cane planned to tell Jill and Kay the whole truth about Colin, but Colin wasn't fazed and threatened to kill Jill. "I'm a lot tougher than you think," Colin warned. They went back inside and Cane revealed that his sister was murdered. Jill and Kay promised to stand by him. Colin interrupted and asked to talk to Jill privately. Before leaving, he offered to "help" Cane.... Blake and Sofia ran into each other at Jimmy's and she warned that he's going to jail. "I'm my own boss," Blake told her. She wasn't scared, but he just laughed at her. Later, Kay sat down with Cane and asked if there was more to his story. "I can't talk anymore," he replied, evading her question. Kay understood. He wanted to see Lily, but Kay advised him to give her some space. Still, she called Lily and asked if she wanted to see him. Lily agreed and asked him to come over.

Jack ran into Victor and Michael at the club and gloated about how well the Newman Fund was doing. He then noted that he may have found what they need to take down Adam.... Adam went to the courthouse, where Sharon was saying good-bye to her daughter. Nick left with Faith; Adam tried to comfort Sharon.

Mal and Sofia met by the bar and he reamed her out for protecting Cane. He was also upset with her for not telling him. Sofia wanted to continue with wedding plans, but he wasn't in the mood — and planned to move into the club. She couldn't believe that he'd bail on her so easily. She asked if he wanted to call off the wedding. "I'm done," he growled as he stormed away. Sofia then walked into the street just as a car zoomed up the block... Kay asked to speak with Jill alone, but Jill stated that Colin is family. Kay became annoyed when Jill compared Colin to Murphy. Jill left with Colin and didn't understand why Kay couldn't support her. She and Colin planned to get married right away.... Neil left just as Cane arrived and brushed past his son-in-law without saying a word. Cane entered and stated his love for Lily. "What we have saved my life," she told him. She gave him a last chance to save their marriage and asked if she finally knows everything about him. He couldn't answer and her eyes filled with tears. "You were never even real," she cried. "You never even existed at all."

Tuesday

Lily confronted Cane about continually lying to her about his past. Cane argued that he was trying to protect her, but she wouldn't buy it and demanded that he leave for good. Cane tried to hold back his tears as he packed up his things. He recorded a video for the twins, explaining that he had to go away for a while.

Sofia left Jimmy's Bar and was nearly plowed down by a motorcycle. Malcolm and Neil saw her and ran to her rescue; thankfully, she came away with just a scrape on her arm. She couldn't describe the driver, but remembered seeing a skull on his or her helmet. Meanwhile, Blake removed a motorcycle helmet — with a skull on it.

At Crimson Lights, Jill tried to plan her wedding to Colin, but he was obviously distracted. Neil and Mal took Sofia to the coffeehouse and she filled in a concerned Jill on her near accident. Colin suddenly left and called Blake, instructing him to get rid of the helmet. Jill feared that Sofia had been targeted on purpose; Neil agreed that it could have something to do with Cane. Sofia refused to live in fear. Mal was ready to make up with her.... Blake went to the G.C.A.C, where he ran into Lily and the twins. She demanded that he stay away from her.... Colin and Blake met up; he ordered Blake to "take care" of things.

Diane worked at the Newman Ranch, while Kyle grew bored. Victor joined her and lamented that he hated to see Sharon lose her child, but added that Adam was no good. Diane asked him to keep an eye on Kyle while she took care of some "work." Kyle eyed a photo of Victoria and asked why she never came to the ranch. "Some things have happened," Victor shrugged. Kyle asked if he missed Victoria and Reed; Victor changed the subject by inviting Kyle to go snowmobiling.

Nick took Faith to the tack house and promised to take good care of her. Soon Diane arrived and asked if he could use a friend. Nick welcomed her inside. After he put Faith to bed, he joined Diane and they talked about the difficulties of being parents in a broken home. She admitted that she had some regrets about taking Kyle from Jack when their son was young. She assured Nick that Faith would be okay. Nick told her that he wants to be more than just friends. She wondered if he'd change his mind again, but he kissed her to show that he was serious. Diane suggested that they see what else they have in common; he invited her to stay for dinner. Later, they cooked together and debated how much hot pepper to add to the dish. Their mock sparring led to a near-kiss, but they were interrupted by a call from Kyle, who informed her that Victor was hurt snowmobiling. Diane hurried back to the ranch to tend to Victor, who'd hit his head. Kyle went to get bandages while Diane teased Victor about snowmobiling at night. He joked about the tree being in the way. She became serious as she bandaged him and confided that she'd once dreamed of Victor and Kyle growing close. Nick called to check on her, but she asked to take a rain check on their dinner. Nick dined with Faith instead. Meanwhile, Diane joined Kyle and Victor for a movie.

Adam tried to comfort a devastated Sharon. "All I want is Faith," she sighed. Adam promised that he'd take on Victor and Nick to get Faith back. Sharon didn't want him to, but Adam was determined to do something. "Just be here for me," she requested. He stayed put, but blamed himself for her losing custody. "I hurt you," he admitted. Sharon noted that even people who love each other sometimes hurt one another. They kissed passionately.

Lily returned home and found Cane still there. She reported that she'd seen Blake at the club and had asked him to stay away. Cane begged her to leave town with him, but she refused. He said good-bye to his son and daughter, but promised to be back. Lily told him not to make promises that he can't keep.... Colin returned to the coffeehouse and asked Jill if they could wed that night. She was shocked and asked why he wanted to rush things. He replied that what happened to Sofia made him want to live in the moment. Jill asked if they could have a traditional wedding the next day and he agreed.... Blake sat at Jimmy's and watched footage of Lily on his phone.... Cane continued to plead with Lily to leave town, but she asked him to go. He reluctantly obliged.

Wednesday

Neil tried to comfort Lily, who confided in him how confused she was about everything that had happened with Cane. She also regretted having to keep the twins from her father. Meanwhile, Kay invited Cane to stay with her, but he turned her down and said that it was best for him to leave town. Kay didn't think that he should live in fear, but he explained that by breaking his organization's code and speaking, he was in danger. He didn't want to put his loved ones in danger, as well. Kay assured him that his family would help him bring down the criminals and urged him to tell Lily the whole truth about his past.

Blake left Colin a message and promised to prove his loyalty to his boss.... At Crimson Lights, Malcolm seethed about Sofia almost getting run down by a person whom they suspected was Blake. He vowed that Blake wouldn't get away with it. After, Sofia planned to spend time with Lily. She was pleased that Neil and Mal have been getting along. Malcolm just wanted to be there for Lily. Sofia wondered how she'd get back the money that was paid to Blake, a.k.a. "James Collier."

Colin went to the church to make plans for his and Jill's wedding. At the G.C.A.C, Jill informed Billy that she and Colin are getting married. She asked him to be there, but Billy thought that she was out of her mind. He advised her to slow things down, but she was sure that it was right with Colin. She also reminded Billy how he and Victoria had their invalid wedding in Jamaica. Billy argued that he and Victoria have known each other for years, but agreed to meet Colin. Colin soon met him at the club and Billy questioned him about his intentions toward Jill. He urged him not to rush into marriage with Jill, but Colin replied that he wants what he sees. Billy asked if he wanted Jill's money. Colin admitted that he'd been in jail for tax evasion, but has turned over a new leaf. Billy still didn't trust him, but Colin and Jill refused to delay the wedding. A hurt Jill accused her son of being "like the rest of them." "Nobody who loves you wants to watch you make the worst mistake of your life," Billy told her and stormed out. He then called Cane and filled him in on Colin and Jill's wedding plans.

Cane returned home and called out for Lily, but she and the babies weren't there. He sat down and wrote her a note in which he spilled the secret about himself and his father. Meanwhile, Mal, Neil and Sofia promised to protect Lily from the people who were threatening her family. Lily wanted to help protect Cane and headed back to her place.... Cane called Colin and demanded that his father not go through with the wedding. Colin replied that he wants Cane to be a part of his life. Cane gave his father an ultimatum: stop the wedding or Cane would tell everyone the truth about their family.... As she drove home, Lily tried to reach him on her cell.

Billy went to the Chancellor Estate to see Kay, just as Lily called Kay, asking if she'd seen Cane. Billy got on the phone and told Lily about the wedding. Kay couldn't believe that Jill was going through with it. Lily decided to head toward the church.... Colin returned to Jill and assured her that people would eventually accept their relationship. Jill stated that she didn't care what they thought and just wanted to marry Colin. They planned to meet at the church.... Cane finished his letter to Lily and placed it on the desk. He then went to the church to stop Jill from marrying his father.... Kay and Billy discussed Colin and how they didn't trust him. However, Kay doubted that anything they could say would stop Jill.... Colin went to see Blake and gave him one more job: to stop Cane from disrupting the wedding ceremony. Blake pointed out that Cane would never be a son to Colin and planned to get close to Lily so that Colin could have access to his grandkids. Colin warned Blake not to do anything stupid.... Neil called Lily, who was at the church waiting for Cane. Neil didn't think that it was wise for her to talk to her husband, but she disagreed. Jill arrived, wearing a blue wedding gown and was thrilled to see Lily. Lily promised to help prevent Cane from stopping the ceremony and shared that she didn't want to walk away from Cane. Jill was happy to hear that Lily was going to try to forgive him. Colin joined them and warmly welcomed them.

Cane arrived at the church, but was stopped by Blake at the steps. Inside, Jill and Colin began their wedding vows. As an aria played, Lily wheeled the twins outside.... Just as Jill and Colin said, "I do," Blake shot Cane. Lily screamed, the stroller with the twins bounced down the church steps and Cane fell to the ground, blood pouring out of his mouth.

Thursday

At the Chancellor Estate, Kay and Billy waited for news about Jill. Kay wondered if Jill was really going through with marrying Colin. Murphy joined them and they filled him in on Jill. Murphy suggested that she wash her hands of Jill, but Kay replied that she couldn’t do that Meanwhile at the church, Cane was shot by Blake; Blake then tumbled to the bottom of the church steps and broke his neck. A sobbing Lily ran to her husband... Malcolm told Sofia that Lily needs to cut Cane out of her life.... Jill and Colin joined Lily, while Neil grabbed the babies and called for help. He then called Mal and Sofia, who hurried over there.... Lily pleaded with Cane to hang on and declared her love for him. However, Cane died in her arms. Lily, Jill and Colin were devastated. Soon, an ambulance arrived and officially pronounced him dead. Lily pleaded with them to save Cane and refused to leave him. Neil and Mal tried to keep her calm, to no avail. Jill just stood there, stunned, and wondered how it happened. The cop questioned her and Colin about Cane and she numbly told him how Blake had been blackmailing Cane. She broke down as it hit her that the twins would never know their father. Neil wanted to take Lily into the church to pray, but she refused. “Pray for what? My husband is dead!” she cried. Jill and Colin returned to the Chancellor Estate and gave Bill, Murphy and Kay the bad news about Cane. Billy headed to the church to see if he could help. “There was so much blood,” Jill cried as Kay embraced her.

Malcolm and Sofia took the twins back to Lily’s place. Sofia regretted having worked with Blake; Mal was upset with her for not having told him about Cane’s dangerous associates. Sofia asked if Malcolm was blaming her for Cane’s death. “You knew it was wrong and you did it anyway,” Mal huffed. Sofia argued that she kept the secret to protect her family. “My intentions were good,” she insisted. Mal wasn’t sure that he could trust her.

Lily finally joined Neil in the church and she thanked him for saving the twins’ lives. She thought it was ironic that she and Cane had been so worried about the twins growing up without their mother while she’d been sick. “He can’t be gone,” Lily cried and regretted having pushed Cane away. Billy soon arrived and sat with Lily, not saying anything. She cried in his arms. Later, she wondered how she’d be able to explain everything to her kids. Billy promised to help her and to write a tribute to Cane in Restless Style.

Jill went upstairs to remove her bloody dress and sobbed as she eyed herself in the mirror. Kay joined her and offered to help. “Thank you,” Jill said quietly as Kay handed her a robe. “It doesn’t matter that Cane wasn’t a Chancellor. He was ours.” Kay agreed. “Family is family, no matter what,” she replied. Jill slowly sat down on the bed and broke down again.... Colin blankly stared out the living room window. Murphy brought him a clean jacket. Kay handed him Jill’s bloody dress and he headed outside. Murphy noted that Colin seemed to be very rattled. Kay wondered why he was so upset when Cane had disliked him so much. Later, Jill hugged a photo of Cane while Colin stayed with her. “I’m gonna try to make this right for you,” he promised. “I think God sent you to me at the perfect time,” she answered.

Mal returned to the church and blasted Sofia to Neil. Neil defended her. Billy came outside and told them that Lily was ready to talk to the police. She gave the cop the whole story about Cane getting shot and was determined for the world to know that Cane was a hero. Neil, Billy and Malcolm held her as they went outside and she saw the chalk body outline where Cane had been. Later, the cop went to see Jill and asked her to go to the morgue so she could ID the body, but she refused. Colin volunteered to do it and almost slipped that Cane was his son. Jill praised Colin for taking care of her. Murphy and Billy agreed that they’d misjudged him, but Kay still looked wary.

Sofia cared for the twins and apologized to Cane’s picture. Mal returned and was cold toward her.... Colin went to the morgue and spent a moment alone with Cane’s body. He swore that he never intended for his son to get killed and vowed that his grandkids would never be a part of the organization. He dissolved into sobs as he stated his love for his son. Lily and Neil arrived and wondered why Colin was there. He explained that he was trying to spare Jill the trauma. Lily asked to see Cane one last time.... Blake’s body was wheeled by Colin. He lifted the blanket and eyed his late associate.... Lily entered the morgue alone and spoke aloud, wondering how she could say good-bye to him.

Friday

Paul and Nina went to Crimson Lights before going ice skating. Paul was determined to get her mind off of Chance and Ronan, and whether Chance was a match for his brother. An anxious Heather joined them and Paul invited her out. Just then, Ronan entered the coffeehouse and they invited him, as well. The four went to the lake and sat around a campfire. Ronan began to tell a story about his adoptive mother, who was an amateur skater, but stopped when he thought it would hurt Nina; she eagerly encouraged him to share it and enjoyed hearing about his mom. Heather challenged him to show them his moves and he took her up on it. Everyone was impressed when he attempted a complicated spin, but he fainted and hit the ice. Paul called an ambulance, while Nina and Heather tried to wake him. Later at the hospital, the doctor told them that if Ronan doesn’t get a liver transplant in time, he’ll die. Nina wished they’d hear from Christine to get word on Chance. After they visited Ronan, who was sure that Chris would call when she had news. He turned on the TV and they saw the newscast about Cane.

At Jimmy’s, Daniel called to check on paternity results. Chloe entered and wondered what was bothering him. He flashed back to taking baby Lucy’s pacifier. Chloe than lamented that Jana still thinks that she’s married to Kevin. Kevin joined them and planted a kiss on Chloe; he informed her that Jana is going to be at group therapy so he and Chloe would get to spend an evening together. “Get a room,” Daniel teased as they smooched. After, the news report about Cane aired on the bar’s TV; the three watched in horror. Daniel wanted to check on Lily. Chloe freaked out, especially since Cane’s death reminded her of Chance’s.

Victoria and Billy brought Lucy to the Chancellor Estate and gave Kay and Murphy their condolences about Cane. Jill sat quietly in the corner. Billy brought the baby over to her and Jill perked up. Lauren arrived and pulled Jill into an embrace.... At the morgue, Colin spoke to Blake’s corpse and promised that in some way, Blake would feel the pain that he’s feeling. The mortician asked what should be done with the body. “He can rot in hell,” Colin replied.... Lily said good-bye to Cane’s body. “You can’t be gone,” she cried and regretted that they’d wasted so much time. “I forgive you,” she said. “I need to know that you heard me at the church.” Neil arrived and tried to comfort his daughter. She wished that this were just a bad dream. He encouraged her to say her final good-bye and let Cane go. She slowly followed him outside.

Everyone got upset when Billy stated that he was going to write an article about Cane. However, Billy explained that he wanted people to know the truth; that Cane died in order to prevent Blake from shooting Lily and the kids. Kay agreed to help him. Colin arrived and was silent as he listened to Billy. Lauren offered to help Jill call her family members and was shocked when Jill revealed that she and Colin got married. Jill admitted that she wasn’t sure why Cane had come to the church, but hoped that he’d changed his mind about supporting her marriage.... Neil took Lily home and she sat with her son. She lamented that she’d taken being with Cane for granted, including the little moments like when they had coffee together in the mornings. Devon stopped by and joined his sister on the couch. She leaned her head on his shoulder and cried. Later, she spoke about the future she and Cane won’t get to have. “You and Cane shared a lot,” Devon assured her. “You guys had something that was very rare and no one can take that away from you.” “They stole our future,” she replied. Devon and Neil offered to stay with her for the night, but she wanted to be alone.

Chloe, Kevin and Daniel went to the Chancellor Estate to pay their respects. Jill was happy to see them. Billy introduced them to his and Victoria’s daughter and explained how they were able to adopt her so quickly. Chloe wasn’t exactly happy about it, especially since he hadn’t told her earlier. She worried about how Delia was taking it; Billy revealed that they hadn’t told her yet. Chloe was really annoyed when Kevin admitted that he knew about the adoption.... Lauren apologized to Jill for sounding critical about the wedding. Jill noted that Colin has been there for her during this ordeal. Kay still didn’t trust him.... Colin went outside with Jill’s phone and listened to the message that Cane had left her about Colin. He then deleted it.

Nina went to the Chancellor Estate to check on Kay and Jill. Billy finished his editorial about Cane and read it aloud to the family. In it, he called Cane a hero. Jill and Colin were touched, but Colin wondered if there was anything left to investigate in Cane’s death. Murphy shared that Blake had been blackmailing him. Jill vowed to make the organization that had been targeting Cane pay. Later, Nina accidentally dumped her drink on Jill.... Daniel got the results for the paternity test, which confirmed that he’s Lucy’s father.... Lily turned on her laptop and saw the video that Cane had left for the twins. She cried as she watched it.

Christine arrived at the hospital with news for Ronan: Chance is a match.... Nina followed Jill upstairs, as Jill tried to brush her away. When Jill entered her room, she was shocked to see Chance standing there!
