Young and Restless Recaps
Y&R Week of February 1, 2010
Monday
While everyone looked on at the G.C.A.C., Adam angrily confronted his dad
about his cold-hearted quotes. Victor called his son "scum" and said, "I'm ashamed that you're a Newman." Adam physically lashed out and Victor knocked him to the ground, as Billy snapped photos. Later, Ashley chastised Victor for his "cruel" behavior but he huffed, "I suggest you stay out of this." Abby showed up and blasted her dad for publicly humiliating her.
Chloe alluded to the surprise that Emily planned for her wedding to Jack and
Em reminded her wedding planner that is a secret. Later, Billy chided
Chloe for not being a party girl anymore but she advised him to "get over
it." Billy received a text from Heather, inviting him over to her place and
Chloe ribbed him for getting involved with the assistant D.A. Billy changed
the subject by asking to see Delia that evening.
Lily and Cane played the recording of their babies' heartbeats for Neil and
Devon. Lily then went to the church to say a prayer for Harry. Cane told a worried Neil that Lily needed someone she could totally open up to.
Meanwhile, Lily prayed that she would survive her cancer to become a mother.
While test tasting for their wedding menu, Jack and Emily were interrupted
by Cane, who asked the doc to talk to Lily. Em readily agreed and Cane
mentioned to Jack that he refused Jill's offer to run Chancellor Industries
with her. Emily rushed over to Lily to remind that being afraid of dying
will keep her from living her life. Later, Neil presented Lily with a letter
from Harry that, in part, read: "You are one of the bravest people I ever
met, and when I was at my lowest, you were the angel that cheered me up."
Lily was bolstered by Harry's words and vowed to live every moment.
Phyllis was thrilled to see Malcolm and they caught up over coffee at
Crimson Lights. She felt bad that her feud with Drucilla ended in her death
but Malcolm assured he didn't blame Phyllis.
Noah was upset by the confrontation he witnessed between Victor and Adam.
"Can you see why I want to go to Paris and get away from this garbage?" he
posed to his parents. After more discussion, Nick finally agreed with Sharon
to let Noah attend school overseas.
Sharon demanded answers from Victor about the way he treated Adam but Vic
stormed away. Ashley informed Sharon that Victor isn't taking the ranch from
her after all so Sharon and Adam don't have to move. But Sharon doubted if
her husband will want to live some place that will remind him of his father.
Ashley unwrapped a baby gift from her mother, which was a blanket. Its purple
color suddenly reminded Ashley of the bloody piece of fabric Adam had
presented her, which convinced her that she ran down Sabrina. Ash was
determined to find that cloth fragment.
Tucker was impressed that Adam stood up to "your old man." ... Nick informed
Tucker that he wanted to buy Jabot. Tucker advised Nick to present a sealed
bid.... Sharon and Phyllis argued over Victor's treatment of Adam and Sharon
spat, "You need to back off, bitch."... Victor told Adam that their public
charade is working so Adam should be able to successfully infiltrate
Tucker's organization.
Tuesday
Phyllis got a call from a doctor who wanted to examine Summer in Boston. Nick told Phyllis that Noah was planning to go to Paris. Phyllis filled him in on how Sharon went off on her because she said that Adam deserved Victor's rage. Nick urged Phyllis not to focus so much on Sharon and Adam, but Phyllis was determined to find out what Adam and Dr. Taylor's connection was. Abby then arrived and told them that Ashley was freaking out over a purple cloth and that Adam seemed to be the only person who could talk her down when she acted crazy. Phyllis wondered if Adam had something to do with the cloth. Nick offered to drive Abby to the book store and Phyllis said she'd check in on Ashley.
Ashley flashed back to when Adam handed her the piece of Sabrina's purple gown as "proof" that Ashley had hit and killed Sabrina. Sharon joined her in the ranch living room and wondered what Ashley was thinking about. Ashley explained that she's looking for the piece of purple cloth, but wouldn't give much more detail. Sharon offered to take Faith for her.
Lauren and Daisy returned home from the boutique. Lauren complained about having another headache and believed that it was just a bug. Michael informed Lauren that he called Eden in Paris about the binder Lauren found, and that Eden believes that she's being set up by Daisy.... At Crimson Lights, Jana informed Kevin that she found Ryder eating out of the garbage. Kevin was angry that she hadn't told him about this sooner and ran out to find Ryder.... Noah met up with Adam at the book store. Ryder spied Noah and hid behind the stacks.
Sharon brought Faith to the book store and joined Adam and Noah. She filled in Adam on how Ashley was searching for the cloth. He volunteered to return to the ranch to help Ashley find it. Outside, Adam muttered to himself, "Oh my God, Ashley, what are you doing?"... Sharon informed Noah that she and Nick have agreed to let him go to Paris. He eagerly called Eden and was shocked when she told him what Michael had accused her of doing.
Lauren argued that they barely knew Eden when they took her in and that she'd been brought up in a "cult." Michael replied that Eden just lived with a bunch of hippies and demanded that Lauren see a doctor about those headaches. After they left, Daisy flashed an evil grin.... Kevin found Ryder outside in the cold, begging for change. Ryder didn't want Kevin's sympathy and walked away.... Noah told Sharon how someone is trying to frame Eden, and how he's determined to clear his girlfriend's name. He assured his worried mom that he knows what he's doing.... At the doctor's office, Lauren announced that she was feeling better. Michael suspected that Lauren was being poisoned in some way, just as Sheila had poisoned her with the necklace. Lauren became upset and Michael assured her that Sheila is dead. The doctor wanted to give Lauren a sedative, but Lauren refused. Michael called the pet shop to see if the owner recalled who'd purchased the rat; the owner said that she had long, dark hair and a major attitude..... Kevin felt guilty about Ryder, but Jana pointed out that Kevin had no choice but to kick him out since Ryder kept lying about everything. Ryder called Daisy and asked to see her. She refused, but he insisted.... Abby and Noah also called Daisy to see if they could come by, but she said it wasn't a good time.... Kevin found a room for his brother to stay in.... Daisy met up with Ryder and complained to him about all of the things she's had to set in motion, like sending Eden to Paris. Ryder wondered how she could abandon him after everything they've been through. Jana overheard and questioned Daisy about her and Ryder's connection.... Eden told Noah where to find Michael and Lauren's spare key and he let himself into their home.
Adam returned home and was confronted by Ashley, who accused him of making her think she killed Sabrina, and then Nikki, when she hadn't. Adam denied that it ever happened. "I know what you told me and I believed you," Ashley stated in a calm, clear voice. "I'm going to ask you again: why would you show me a piece of bloody cloth that belonged to a woman I never hit?" Phyllis arrived at the door and overheard Ashley angrily calling Adam a liar.... Nick and Abby arrived at the book store and met up with Noah and Sharon. Abby left with Noah; Nick told Sharon how concerned Abby was about Ashley. They later laughed when Faith made a face that reminded them of one Noah used to make when he was a baby. Nick asked if Sharon is happy with Adam. She replied that her new husband is a wonderful man. She and Nick shared a moment when they read to Faith.... Phyllis entered the ranch and informed Ash that Abby was upset. She asked if Ashley needed help finding the cloth. Neil then came by and asked why the house was a mess. Ashley demanded that Adam leave. Before departing, Adam reminded her that he's on her side. With Neil there, Phyllis also left. Ashley called Sharon to check in on Faith, then explained to Neil why she was so upset. Neil believed her and felt badly that she'd gone through this. He promised to help her figure everything out and assured her that she's not crazy..... Adam went to the club and found Abby there. Abby was glad to hear that her mom was okay. Phyllis then arrived and offered to buy him a drink. She questioned him about Taylor and wondered why at college, Adam, who was a college business major, was spending time with a doctor twice his age.
Wednesday
At the Club, Phyllis continued her interrogation of Adam about his connection to Dr. Taylor. He squirmed as she fired questions and accusations at him. "I can't wait to see Sharon's face when she finds out who you really are," she pronounced gleefully. Adam accused her of being melodramatic and left. Phyllis dialed Harvard Alumni Association on her cell phone and posed as a reporter doing a story on Dr. Taylor. She was satisfied to learn that she would be allowed to access the school's archives in Boston the next day. Rafe arrived, and she grilled him about Adam's connection to Taylor. Rafe confirmed that they were not involved sexually; in fact, he wasn't even certain they liked each other. After Rafe left, Neil arrived, and he filled Phyllis in about the significance of the purple cloth and Ashley's claims that Adam had tried to drive her insane. Phyllis became convinced that Dr. Taylor had held the key to the mystery, but died before he could expose Adam. She suggested that she and Neil team up to connect the dots and bring Adam down. Neil placed a quick call to Olivia, who gave them more information about how Adam had brought Dr. Taylor into Ashley's life. Playing detective, Phyllis deduced that something must have happened between Adam and Ashley, and that Dr. Taylor knew what it was.
In Victor's office, Nick filled his father in on his meeting with Tucker. He explained that he had turned down Tucker's offer to buy Newman Cosmetics. Victor and Nick agreed that they should put together a bid for Jabot. Nick admitted that Adam was playing his role in the plan perfectly. Nick requested that Adam never know the plan was Nick's, and Victor agreed. Nick expressed regret that he had to keep yet another secret from his wife. Victor reassured him, saying that Phyllis would understand after it was all over with. "Son, we are going to do great things together - starting with Jabot." Nick was elated to be working so closely with his father, and the two shared a hug.
At the bookstore, Sharon was happy to encounter Rafe. After exchanging warm greetings, Rafe took the opportunity to warn Sharon about how manipulative Adam was. Not long after Rafe left, Adam arrived. He swept Sharon into his arms for a kiss. He asked her for assurance that she loved him. She hugged him and told him that she did.
Michael reluctantly told Lauren that the pet shop owner had described Eden as the girl who had purchased the rat. Lauren admitted that she had been wrong to allow Daisy to live with them. "I think it's time I stopped bringing strays home," she said. Michael lit up and rubbed his hands together. "Should we give Daisy the boot when she gets home?" he queried. Lauren agreed that spending time alone with her husband did sound good. "The Baldwin boarding house is officially closed for business!" she said emphatically.
In the alley, Jana demanded answers from Daisy about what she had overheard between her and Ryder. Daisy lied her way out of the situation. Jana returned to the coffeehouse and told Kevin about her suspicions reagarding Daisy and Ryder's connection.
Noah rifled through Daisy's backpack at Lauren and Michael's apartment. He came across a photograph of two children. He turned it over to find a label reading, "Daisy and Max”. He brought it to Jana at the coffeehouse. "It's the proof I've been looking for!" Jana said excitedly. She explained that she had found the same photograph among Ryder's things, and that it was proof that he and Daisy had known each other since they were kids.
Also at the coffeehouse, Gloria informed Kevin that she would love to be able to "stick it" to Jack. As if on cue, Gloria spied Jack and approached him with a new proposition. As Jack tried to protest, Gloria insisted he'd want to hear her idea, which was designed to get his father's company back. She explained that she was willing to pool her money with his to purchase Jabot from Tucker. Jack was disgusted and demanded that she repay him the money she owed him. "You're making a deal with me with my own money?" he spat through clenched teeth. "If you want Jabot," she responded, "you will need every penny you can lay your hands on. Aren't you a little bit intrigued?" After agreeing that they didn't like each other, they pledged to work together with a handshake. After Jack left, Gloria was elated. Jana was cautious, though, and warned Kevin not to leave his good job - that his mother's schemes never seemed to work out. He explained that being stuck in the I.T. department wasn't a career, but that perhaps Jabot could be.
At the Ranch, Neil and Ashley discussed Adam's manipulations. "We're gonna get through this thing together, okay?" Adam and Sharon arrived backat the ranch with the baby. Ashley greeted Adam coolly, and resumed her accusations. "Either you lied to me the morning after I took Victor's car, or you're lying to me now. Which is it?" she shot. Sharon looked at her husband in shock. Adam responded that he had never lied to her. They went back and forth about who said what and when. Adam maintained that she was simply confused, but Ashley stood her ground. Neil wasn't buying Adam’s explanation and warned him that they would get to the bottom of it. Adam stated that he did not appreciate being called a liar, because he had been there for Ashley through her roughest times. Ashley asked Adam to move out. Sharon suggested they put everything on hold until tomorrow, when everyone had had a chance to calm down. Ashley agreed, and after Sharon and Adam left, she and Neil made a plan. "Let Adam think he dodged a bullet," conspired Neil. On their way out the door, Sharon flashed back to her conversation with Rafe, and wondered if she really could trust Adam.
Daisy arrived home, and headed to her room to study. Michael was frustrated that Lauren didn't evict Daisy immediately. Lauren agreed to do it tomorrow.
Jack and Victor arrived separately at the Club for a drink. Upon seeing Jack so happy, Victor offered him a toast ... to what would be a very interesting day tomorrow. Grinning ear to ear about his secret plan to acquire Jabot, Jack eagerly clinked his glass with Victor's.
Thursday
While Chloe directed, Malcolm snapped photos of Jack and Emily for their portrait. After the session was over, Chloe suggested that Emily get her bridal portrait taken now instead of at the wedding. Chloe then scampered off to meet up with Chance.
Patty stewed about Emily and Jack's upcoming nups. Paul showed up and Patty struggled to maintain control of her emotions but she couldn't keep it together and had a meltdown in front of her brother about "running out of time." Paul calmed his sister down by recalling happy memories from their childhood. After Paul left, Patty got upset all over again about Emily.
Before meeting Tucker for dinner, Jill and Katherine sniped at each other over Jill "sleeping with the enemy." Jill suggested that she could be using her influence on Tucker to save Jabot but Katherine didn't buy it. Jill then met with Tucker at G.C.A.C. Chance and Chloe showed up and Tucker asked them to join him and Jill. "Anyone who could treat Katherine the way that you did isn't someone that we want to get to know," Chance huffed and took a nearby table with Chloe.
Ashley and Neil arrived at the G.C.A.C., where they encountered Tucker. Neil introduced the tycoon to Ashley. "I just wanted to look the man in the eye who betrayed my friend and who's about to throw my family's company to the wolves," said Ashley. Tucker came back with, "Hopefully, the next time we see each other, I'll be giving you back the keys to Jabot."
Jeff agreed to Gloria's plan to throw in his money to help Jack buy back Jabot. However, Jeff warned, "I'm not giving him one red cent until we get it in writing that we don't get shoved aside when the deal is done." The Bardwells approached Jack about a contract for them but he refused. Jack explained that he would have to confer with Ashley and Traci first but Gloria pointed out that Ashley hates her and the deal will be killed. "All I can do is give you my word," Jack offered. "You will get the positions you deserve." Jeff said that he and his wife will have to think about it and left. Later, Glo told Jeffrey that she was willing to take the risk of trusting Jack. Jeff called Jack to announced that he's in on the deal. Jack then confidently told Tucker that no one else will be able to top his bid.
Jill entered Katherine's bedroom and woke up a slumbering Katherine with the news that she heard someone in the house. Before they could investigate, the power suddenly went out and the phone lines were dead. Jill used her cell to call 911 and reported, "There is an intruder in my home." As the women anxiously waited, Jill accidentally called Kay "Mother." Someone tried to open Kay's bedroom door but approaching police sirens sent the person running away.
Chloe and Chance heard a car backfire; he overreacted and pushed Chloe to the ground. She asked why he panicked and he revealed getting a threat on his cell phone. They returned to the Chancellor estate to find the police there. Jill explained how someone broke in and Kay confirmed that she could've been murdered in her bed had Jill not come home. Unfortunately, the ladies started arguing again. Chance searched upstairs and discovered that his watch was stolen from his room.
Friday
At the athletic club, Jack and Emily celebrated their upcoming wedding. Jack proudly showed her their wedding announcement, which was in the paper. Paul approached them and was upset that they'd made their engagement so public. After, Jack gave Emily a gift: a racy bikini for their honeymoon. She asked where they were going, but he wanted it to be a surprise. Em planned to book a room at the club the night before the wedding so he wouldn't see her until she walked down the aisle. Meanwhile, in the mental hospital, Patty asked for a newspaper so she could finish an art project. Of course, the paper had Emily and Jack on it. She was devastated when she read that they'd be marrying in Sacred Heart, the church where she and Jack had "wed" while she was hiding from the cops. She began to scream that Jack is hers.... Billy reported to Chloe that Cordelia had said, "Dada." Chloe joked that she'd probably said, "Prada." She then revealed that someone broke into the Chancellor Estate, but hadn't taken anything. Later, Jack asked Billy to be his best man. Jack even raised a toast to him, but Billy preferred to toast to new beginnings.... Paul got a call from the hospital that Patty was having a meltdown and they'd have to put her in a straightjacket. Paul visited his sister; she begged him to get her out, but he explained that she needed to stay there.
Kay told Cane about the break-in. He promised to help her deal with it, but Kay was more upset about Tucker taking apart Chancellor Industries. Cane reminded her that he's there for her no matter what.... A shaken Jill went to see Tucker and told him about the intruder and how her whole family is against her. Tucker wasn't exactly warm toward her, which hurt her. He didn't think it was a good idea for them to see each other anymore. Jill couldn't believe that she'd alienated her children and damaged her relationship with Kay all for him. "You did it just as much for yourself," Tucker pointed out. She denied it and insisted that she cares about him. He dumped her, anyway..... Jill returned to the Chancellor Estate and sincerely told Kay that she wishes she'd never become involved with Tucker. Kay didn't believe it. Jill argued that she was staying close to Tucker to try to help her. Kay still wanted Jill to leave. Jill pleaded for her forgiveness.... Tucker met with Cane and Adam to discuss who was interested in Jabot. He was surprised he hadn't heard from Victor. McCall went to meet up with the mayor and instructed Cane and Adam to figure out which companies to sell off next. Cane asked if this was a wise decision, given the state of the economy, but Tucker didn't want to hear it. After, Cane filled in Kay on Tucker's plans. Kay was surprised that he was moving so quickly. Cane lamented the fact that in a few weeks, Chancellor Industries would be nothing but a pile of ashes.... Tucker ran into Billy and Jack at the club and told him that he wants to see Jabot back in the Abbotts' hands. He shared how he was surprised that Newman Enterprises hadn't made a bid. Jack looked forward to getting some good news from him.... Cane hoped that they could get Tucker to slow down so he could change his mind. Jill offered to help them out, but Kay wasn't interested. Jill was adamant in assisting in saving the company, but Cane agreed that he and Kay should do it without her input.
Victor went to the bookstore and called Adam, who was hiding behind the stacks. He told Adam where he could find the keys to Tucker's office. After, Nick joined his father and asked if Adam would be able to pull it off. Victor believed he could and told Nick that there's nothing more satisfying than helping a friend while taking down a bitter enemy. Later, Victor returned to his office and made a call to Adam that all was clear. Adam sneaked into Tucker's place wearing black gloves and went through the drawers looking at various files until he found the stack of bids. He recorded the information, then e-mailed it back to Victor. Adam found Jack's bid and gasped at the number, but Victor wasn't surprised.... Meanwhile, Nick sat the the athletic club bar and eavesdropped on Jack and Billy.
Chloe and Emily agreed that they were proud of Jack and Billy for making amends. Em also looked forward to giving Jack his wedding surprise and couldn't believe that she was getting married. She showed off the leopard spotted bikini that Jack gave her. Emily then got a call from the mental hospital, while Paul tended to Patty. He was shocked when Patty introduced herself as Dr. Emily Peterson!
Meanwhile, Billy reamed out Jack for not telling him that Jabot was for sale, while their sisters were in on the deal. Jack explained that he didn't want Billy to be in even more debt and reminded him that Billy was the one who'd quit Jabot. Billy was still angry for being left out and decided to not be the best man.... Nick returned to Victor's office and Vic filled him in on how much the Abbotts are bidding. He then showed his son how much they were going to offer, which Nick thought was too much. Victor was confident in his decision and asked Nick to deliver it to Tucker's office..... Adam joined Tucker for the "unveiling" of the Jabot bids. Just then, Tucker got a call from Victor and the Newman bid was delivered. McCall was pleased to hear from him.
