Billy left Jimmy's, drunk and miserable. When the clock struck midnight, Billy suddenly found himself in an alternate reality of Genoa City. His late father John appeared and informed Billy that he was about to get a glimpse of his future. John first escorted Billy to the Restless Style office to show that the magazine had won many awards for ad sales but not for journalistic integrity. They fast forwarded to seven years later and Billy saw that Mac had moved on with her life without him. Next, John took Billy to the Chancellor mansion, where Chance, Chloe, Kay, Murphy, Jill and Esther all celebrated Delia's dance recital. Billy noticed that he was not around for this special occasion. John and Billy jumped ahead to 13 years in the future to find Jack, Ashley and Traci sharing a warm gathering. Again, Billy was nowhere to be found and obviously wasn't involved with his family's lives. Next, Billy saw an older Delia preparing for her wedding but her father wouldn't be the one to walk her down the aisle. Billy was shaken that this could be his fate and he begged John to help him stop this kind of future from happening.
