Monday
Nikki reeled from the news that Victor is presumed dead. She ended up falling off the wagon. She called Katherine, who could tell her friend was soused. "Victor is dead," Nikki announced then prattled on about the first time she met Victor. Kay became more worried, but let Nikki yammer. "We were so right for each other, and we both knew that," Nikki sobbed. "We knew it with all our heart. So why didn't it work? Why wasn't I with him when he died? I don't understand that." Nikki blamed herself for Victor and
Sabrina's deaths and Kay panicked when Nikki hung up.
Upon seeing the newest copy of Restless Style, Jack was surprised to see the cover line of Meet The Real Jack Abbott. "This looks like Nick Newman's handiwork to me." Jack opined. When Phyllis, showed up Jack and Sharon immediately confronted her. Phyllis copped to the article and Jack
threatened to stop production. "That's going to cost you," Phyllis gleefully pointed out. "You're going to have to personally pay for this entire first run and the second run. Also, you're going to have to pay to change the Template ... ooh, that's expensive, not to mention the ad penalties for missing our publishing date. Oh, and by the way, it's already online."
Paul rushed to Heather's bedside at the hospital (where she was being watched over by Adam) and become even more alarmed when he learned that
tests had been run on his daughter due to a low red blood cell count. Katherine called Paul with the news that Victor is missing and that Nikki was drinking. Adam broke down when he learned that his father may be dead and left the hospital after Paul assured that he would take Heather home once she was released. A doctor showed up announced that even more tests were in order.
Nick was upset that a storm forced his plane to land in Puerto Vallarta and most likely couldn't fly again until the next day. Nick paid a man to drive him to the fishing village where Nikki waited even though the roads were practically washed out. En route, Katherine called about his mother boozing
it up.
Nick called Phyllis and shared that his father might be dead. Phyllis then notified Neil.... Jack informed his wife it would be cost prohibitive to stop the issue from going out, but suggested that she pen an article on Phyllis but Sharon declined.... Adam reminded Neil that per Victor's will, he owns the bulk of the Newman estate. "The board of directors can go screw
themselves," Adam declared. "I'm running things." ... Via cell phone, Sharon offered words of encouragement to Nick.... Kay was distressed when she couldn't reach Nikki, who wandered out in the rain and was overwhelmed with grief.
Tuesday
In Mexico, Nikki broke down in sobs over the news of Victor's death, as Nick tried to comfort her. "How could 30-odd years with your father end like this?" she asked. She also regretted falling off the wagon. Nick wanted to take her home, but she refused. He vowed to continue searching for Victor. Nick then put Nikki in touch with Victoria. Vicky refused to believe that her father was gone. She was worried about Nikki drinking again.
A pregnant Chloe and Cane went to the courthouse to get married, but had to wait because the judge was on a break. Chloe tried to get Cane to talk to her, but he just wanted to get their wedding over and done with. Cane gave her strange looks as she played "Rock, paper, scissors" by herself. Chloe continued to joke, to no avail, then reamed out Cane for treating the occasion like a funeral. Cane continued to mope. "I sort of imagined the guy I married would be in love with me — or at least stomach me," she spat at him. Cane angrily replied that the only reason he is marrying her so he can be in the baby's life. This remark made Chloe cry. He softened as Chloe recalled her problems with her mom and how she felt distant from her. Later, they went through with the wedding, as Cane thought about Lily. At home later, Cane promised not to turn his back on their child.
At the Winters home, Lily and Devon discussed the Tyra and Ana situation. Devon thought Ana should go to the music school; Ana joined them and said that she didn't want to be sent away. The little girl wished things could be like they were before she learned Tyra was her aunt and not her mother. Lily reminded her how much she loves Tyra, regardless of their relation. They then urged Ana to attend the music school, but she wasn't sure.
Adam settled into his father's office at Newman. When Michael arrived, Adam told him that he is taking charge and will make some changes. Baldwin warned him not to act so quickly since they hadn't yet found a body. Ah, nice to see that Michael is at least familiar with Soaps 101. Adam was determined to move on, reminding Michael that he worked for him now. After, Adam and Neil discussed the situation at Newman. Adam noted that Victor's
will instructed Adam was to inherit the company. The men then argued over how to run the company — and Adam fired Neil. Ouch! After, Karen, Neil and Michael complained about Adam's actions. Neil refused to leave so easily. Michael then informed Adam that it might take him longer to settle the terms of the will than Adam had hoped. Adam threatened that Baldwin could lose his settlement fee. "Some things are worth more than money," Michael stated. Later, Karen told off Adam, calling him a "wannabe." She then quit. Adam called her "too emotional." "No, honey," she answered. "Just too classy." Adam later got security to escort Neil out. "You're out of control," Neil warned "I'm in total control," Adam coolly replied.
In Mexico, Nick and Nikki were devastated when they were informed by the bar owner that a body washed up on the shore.
Wednesday
A reporter interviewed Jack about the Restless Style article that slammed him. Jack told the woman that the feature was accurate, and he wanted total control of the magazine. He then went on to discuss the fighting at the magazine and noted that the controversy was helping sales. Meanwhile, Phyllis and Sharon were upset to learn about Victor's presumed death. Sharon had hope that Victor was still alive and worried about what she'd tell Noah. Phyllis noted that Noah might find out before her if he went online. Sharon filled him in, but tried to give him hope that Victor was alive. After, Noah asked Phyllis what her take on it is, but she didn't sugarcoat anything. Noah stormed out and Sharon was furious with Phyllis for dealing with him in that way. Later, Phyllis was annoyed when Sharon was talking with Nick on the phone about the situation. When Jack returned to the magazine, he asked Phyllis about Victor being MIA, but she didn't want to talk to him. Sharon then told Jack that she's worried about how Nick is dealing with it. Jack then slammed Nick — and a furious Noah overheard. Jack explained to Sharon that he considers Nick a friend, but he can't ignore the problems they're having. After, Jack apologized to Noah and Noah accepted.
In Mexico, Nick received a call about Adam firing Neil. Nikki then geared herself up to identify the body that was discovered, to see if it was Victor's.
The Winters clan threw a going away party for Ana as she prepared to go to music school. Tyra announced that she was moving to New Hampshire with Ana, which disappointed Neil. He pointed out that she'd never get to see Ana since she'd be living in a dorm and would also have to get a new job. He then pleaded with her not to go, but she believed that Ana needed her. They all later shared a tearful good-bye. After, Karen tried to get romantic with Neil, but he was too upset over Ana and Tyra's departures to be in the mood.
Cane was annoyed when Chloe received a big delivery. She explained that she'd purchased items for the baby. He apologized, but asked if she could hold off announcing their marriage. After, he went to see Lily and sadly informed her of his marriage. Lily asked him to leave. "I'll never stop loving you," he told her before parting ways. Later, Chloe went to Restless Style and showed off her ring for Phyllis. She then told her that she and Cane eloped. Meanwhile, Cane and Lily met up at Crimson Lights. He believed they'd be together again, but she wasn't so sure. Chloe then arrived and Lily stormed out.
Thursday
Sharon was appalled when she caught Jack's interview on TV —
particularly the title he gave when the reporter asked what he'd call a book about Victor. Jack noted that Restless Style was doing well, but Sharon feared that their problems at work were affecting their marriage. Jack suggested she do an expose on Phyllis, but Sharon wasn't so sure. She also didn't like the idea of doing a piece on Victor's death because she didn't want to hurt Nick or Noah.
Chloe and Cane informed Jill that they eloped. Jill was hurt that she wasn't invited, but they explained that they didn't want to make a big fuss. Jill insisted on throwing a wedding reception for them. The newlyweds didn't want to go through with it, but Jill wanted Cane to put on a good public face since he was now CEO of Jabot. She was surprised when Chloe asked to postpone it until after the baby was born. Later, Chloe and Cane agreed to treat each other well for the child's sake.
Nick returned home and confided in Phyllis that he's worried about Nikki being alone in Mexico. Paul and J.T. joined them at the coffeehouse to see if there was any progress in finding Victor's body. Victoria then arrived and was concerned about Nikki drinking again. They then wondered what Adam was doing. Soon, Jill arrived and confronted Nick and Phyllis about the article in Restless Style that linked her to David Chow. Nick and Phyllis put the blame on Jack. Later, Sharon expressed her concern to Nick about him shutting down in grief over Victor, but he insisted that he was dealing with it.
Adam asked Brad to be the CEO of Newman because he felt Brad was ruthless enough to handle it. Brad eagerly accepted.... Victoria went to see Adam and warned him not to get too comfortable. "I want to be the child Victor deserved," Adam replied and then fired his sister. Yikes!... Paul was surprised when Heather explained that she "gets" Adam because she understands him wanting to get to know what it's like being Victor's son. Paul warned her that Adam probably has a cruel streak, as Victor did.... Brad gleefully informed Jill about his job at Newman Enterprises. Jill then reamed out Jack and threatened to sue him for the article. Jack insisted that all of his information was fact checked. "You're bitter!" she spat. "I run Jabot and you don't. You're not even allowed to have a job in the mail room there." Ouch. Jack then noted to Nick that Nick was barred from Newman the same way Jack was barred from Jabot. They argued over Victor and Jack yelled at Nick to grow up. Later, Kay reamed out Jill for making bad
business decisions — and warned that she's going to be keeping an eye on her daughter since she didn't trust her.... Adam invited Heather to move in with him at the Ranch, but she wasn't so sure.
In Mexico, Nikki sat at the bar where Victor had hung out. Her phone kept ringing, but she ignored it. She paid the bartender money and asked if he could tell her everything he knew about Victor getting on the fishing boat. "I need to know if he is dead," she cried. The bartender didn't think he could help her and urged her to go home. She refused. "I need him," she explained. "Until you can prove to me he's dead, I'm not going home."
Friday
As Victoria packed up her things at Newman, she recounted to J.T. how her
dad changed his name from Christian Miller, after he left the orphanage. "No
matter what path he went down, he would always be the Victor," she
explained. "And Newman for new man. Starting over, never looking back."
Jill was already fielding calls from the press about the David Chow article
in Restless Style. Katherine warned that a SEC investigation into Jabot
would surely be forthcoming. "Thank you so much for your moral support,"
huffed Jill. As they prepared for the party for Cane and Chloe, Esther
called his new wife a "man-trapping hussy."
Kevin and Jana returned from their honeymoon and learned that Victor is
dead.... Concerned for Michael, Lauren tried to contact River at the ashram,
but found out he had left.... Since Ashley is on a business trip in Europe,
she asked Jack to represent Abby at the reading of Victor's will.
Chloe claimed she was too ill to attend Jill's reception in their honor.
Cane wanted to take his wife to the E.R. but she refused. Cane figured out
that Chloe was pretending to be sick. "You need to step up to your
responsibilities here, okay, Mrs. Cane Ashby," he insisted. "You're gonna go
to the doctor. If he says you don't have to be hospitalized, then you're
gonna take your ass to the reception." After she got a clean bill of health
from the doctor, Chloe begrudgingly accompanied Cane to the Chancellor
mansion. Upon seeing Chloe, a shocked Esther, cried out, "Kate?!"
Victoria, J.T., Nick and Phyllis showed up at the ranch where they were
surprised to see Heather. Adam explained that the assistant D.A. lives with
him now. Jack and Sharon arrived so Michael read Victor's will. "I leave
one-fourth of my estate in trust to be divided between my daughter, Abby Carlton,
and my grandchildren, Summer Ann Newman, Reed Hellstrom and Noah Newman...
To my dear friend Ashley Abbott ... I bequeath my rare book collection. To
my son, Nicholas ... I leave the building at 1350 Union Street, which houses
Restless Style ... To my daughter, Victoria Nicole Newman ... I leave my
private art collection and control of the Newman Foundation. To my son,
Victor Adam Newman, Jr., I leave the bulk of my estate and Newman
Enterprises." Victoria and Nick were disappointed but they weren't going to
contest the will. Michael then gave them and Adam personal letters from
Victor to "be read in private."
In Mexico, Nikki trudged up and down the beach in search of Victor.
Exhausted and emotionally spent, she fell to the sand. Someone approached
her. "Victor?" she gasped.
