Monday
At the Newman Ranch, Victor was going to check in on Adam, but Ashley stopped him and seductively suggested he follow her instead. Victor eagerly agreed.... Upstairs, Adam continued to seduce Rafe, telling the lawyer how he had feelings for him. As soon as Rafe left, Adam called Heather and asked her to come over. She did, and found him in his room wearing next to nothing. He immediately kissed her and they hit the sheets. After, Heather
declared her love for him. On the way out, Heather assured Ashley that she's diligently working to find out who's truly been harassing Ash.... Rafe called Adam and said that he returns Adam's feelings.
At the G.C.A.C., Mackenzie was stunned when Chloe gleefully informed her that Billy could be the father of Sharon's child. "So Billy nailed his brother's wife," announced Chloe. "Yep, and I guess it was just in the heat of the moment, because, whoops, they didn't use protection." A disgusted Mac stormed out of the room. After, a curious Chloe asked her wayward hubby, "Are you an uncle, a daddy or one lucky S.O.B. who just got off the hook?"
Billy was angry with her for trashing his life. "No, you did all the trashing. I'm just the color commentator," she shot back and accused him of stealing his best friend's fiance. Billy explained that Mac broke off her engagement to Raul. Chloe asked why he'd kept his affair with Sharon secret from Mac; Billy argued that he didn't yet have anything to tell her. Chloe asked if he was going to chase after Mac or find out if he's a father again. She then also stormed out.
In her suite, Jack kissed Mary Jane, but she sensed that he was preoccupied. MJ then began talking about how she had a "feeling" that Nick and Phyllis would reunite. Jack again insisted that he and Phyllis are just friends and explained that he was actually thinking about his brother.
Sharon eagerly awaited for Nick to join her so she could tell him that they were having a child together. She told the late Cassie about her baby sister Faith who'd be in the world soon. However, Nick and Phyllis were keeping vigil over a comatose Summer. Phyllis could barely keep it together as she insisted that she'd thrown away her peanut butter cookies. Nick was numb as he thought back to when Cassie was in the hospital. Phyllis encouraged Nick to talk to their daughter. "Daddy's here now," he said softly, as he took her hand. He then turned his attention back to Phyllis, who was crying.... Sharon checked her voicemail and found a message from Nick about Summer.... Nick called Victor with the bad news. Sharon rushed to the hospital and overheard Phyllis saying that she didn't want anyone there who wasn't supposed to be there. Nick embraced Phyllis and Sharon hurried away from Summer's hospital room. Phyllis tried to put on a happy face as she encouraged her daughter to wake up.
Ashley wanted to join Victor at the hospital, but he insisted on going alone. She tried to comfort him, but he was afraid of stressing her out. Ashley finally got Victor to admit that he needs her. A "pregnant" Ashley felt that her baby was hungry and got a certain food. Victor called MJ, but got her voicemail. He then stopped by MJ's suite and found her dead cat.... Sharon prayed to God about Summer and for guidance with the paternity situation. "Show me how to help [Nick]," Sharon pleaded. "I'll do whatever
it takes."... At the hospital, the doctor feared that Summer had suffered brain damage. Nick did his best to comfort a guilty Phyllis and reminded her that she'd saved Summer by getting her to the hospital before it was too late. Phyllis disagreed and believed that Nick hates her. Nick insisted that he won't let her blame herself and explained that he didn't want to let her down during this crisis the way he'd let Sharon down after Cassie's death. He refused to let Phyllis push him away. Sharon came by to check on Summer, but when Nick asked about the paternity test, she urged him to concentrate on Phyllis and their sick daughter.
Billy and Jack went to Jimmy's so they could meet Sharon and hear the paternity test results. Mary Jane listened in from outside the bar. Billy said that he didn't want the child to be his, but Jack hoped it was his. Jack bluntly told his brother that Billy is a screw up and implored him to get his act together.... Meanwhile at the club, Chloe confronted Mac about Billy; Mac refused to play her game, though, and concluded that Chloe still wants Billy. Chloe denied it and said that though she loves him, she sees him for who he truly is. Whereas Mac, she argued, loves him because she wants to make Billy a better person.... Sharon arrived at the bar — and lied to an ecstatic Jack that they're having a baby girl together.
Tuesday
Jill called the nail salon and explained that she got someone to cover for her because she had to be home for a family emergency. Katherine joined her in the Chancellor Estate living room and wondered aloud who took Phillip III's body. She urged Jill not to take her stress out on Nina, but just the mention of Nina set Jill on edge. "What if she's right and the child you gave birth to is wandering around out there, somewhere?" Kay asked.... Nina
met up with Neil at Crimson Lights and told him about Phillip's coffin being filled with sandbags. She added that she suspected that Cane was involved and was worried about Lily. Neil was incredulous and denied that Cane could be a con artist.
At Jimmy's, Cane answered his cell phone and asked his contact to make sure that Langley gets in touch with him. Lily arrived and wondered what was wrong. Cane lied that his uncle owed some payments. But when Cane stepped away, Lily checked his phone and saw that Cane had made many calls in a row — all to Langley. After, they stopped by the estate. Lily asked Jill if Cane has talked to her about his uncle Langley.... Nina soon arrived, to Jill's chagrin. They all watched as Cane's blood was taken. Lily confronted Nina about making Cane out to be the villain. Nina replied that Lily doesn't have the best track record when it comes to being conned. Lily was furious when Nina compared Cane to David Kimble. Cane asked them to stop arguing, then did a bait and switch on the blood samples when one fell to the floor. Nina
yelled at him for touching the sample when he picked it up. Kay held her head and complained about the stress.
Sharon felt badly about forgetting Jack's birthday. She explained to him what was going on with Summer. Nikki brought flowers to the hospital, but Phyllis didn't want any more, explaining that it made Summer's room look like a funeral home. She admitted to Victor that she's afraid to rest because if she closes her eyes, something will happen to Summer. Mary Jane and Michael also arrived to support Phyllis. Michael warned her to be careful with Nick. "He's the father of my child and I need him right now," Phyllis replied. She then became upset as she realized that if Summer died, she'd be without her daughter and Nick. Paul joined Nikki and wondered why MJ was at the hospital.
Victor received a text with a picture of him embracing Mary Jane and the warning, "I know all about you." He went to Jimmy's, where he encountered Gloria and Jeff, the author of the text. Jeff tried to blackmail Vic for money by threatening to show Ashley the photo of Newman and MJ — believing that Mary Jane is a high-class hooker. Victor told him to take a hike. "You picked the wrong side," he whispered to Gloria as he left the bar. Later, Victor confronted Jill about Jeff's scheme, but she insisted that she had nothing to do with it. She asked Victor for a job, but he turned her down.
Nick and Phyllis sat by Summer's bed as Nick prayed. MJ entered the hospital room and tried to "comfort" Phyllis. She then blabbed to Phyllis that Jack is the father of Sharon's baby.... Jack was surprised that Sharon hadn't told Nick that he's not the father and urged her to do so..... MJ paid Summer a visit and apologized to the little girl for putting her in a coma.... Heather came by to see how Summer was doing. So did Jack and Sharon. Phyllis was upset when Nick called Sharon and told him that the baby is Jack's. Later, MJ ran into Heather in the hospital hallway and insinuated
that Phyllis was behind Summer's condition. Heather placed a call to find about about Munchausen by Proxy syndrome.
Neil and Lily met up at the coffeehouse. She became upset when he questioned her about Cane's past. After, Lily asked Cane if he was keeping anything from her. He assured her that his DNA test would clear up any doubts about him.... Nina tried to get more answers about Phillip's death. Paul revealed that he spoke with all of the EMTs and hospital personnel, except for the cop who rode in the ambulance with Phillip.... Jill went on about how Nina was trying to take another son away from her. Kay angrily yelled at her to be quiet because she didn't feel well, but Jill insisted on venting to her.
MJ returned to her hotel suite and found Victor waiting for her. He warned her that someone knows that they know each other. She assured him that the situation with Jack was under control.
Nick went to the chapel and thought back to Cassie's death and how in his dream, Cassie's little sister was called Faith. He asked God why he had to take Cassie and the dream of a new baby, and now looked to be taking Summer away, too. "Give me a sign," he pleaded. Just then, Sharon entered. Nick asked her about the baby; she urged him to focus on Summer. "It's a girl, isn't it?" he said quietly. "Yes. But it's not your girl," she answered.
Wednesday
At the courthouse, Amber told Jana that Michael is trying to get someone to
review Jana's case. Michael joined them and explained that he's going to ask
to get Jana and Daniel's cases thrown out. Meanwhile at Crimson Lights,
Kevin urged Daniel to get a move on so he could make it to the courthouse on
time for the hearing. Daniel wanted to take Balfour's cell phone from the
Feds, but Kevin advised him against him stealing evidence.... Amber wondered
to Michael if one of her former contacts from Los Angeles was trying to hurt
Daniel to get back at her. Michael urged her to give him details, but she
was afraid to divulge her colorful past in front of Daniel. Kevin also
encouraged her to do what she can to save Romalotti.
At Tyra's place, she and Neil smooched. Neil filled her in on everything
that was going on with Cane and the Chancellors and explained that he had to
head over to Katherine's house. After he left, Tyra had an awkward encounter
with Devon and Roxanne as they emerged from Devon's bedroom. After Roxanne
left, Devon demanded to know why Tyra was there. Tyra reminded him that he
invited her and Ana to move in. Devon warned her that Neil just got divorced
and isn't ready for a relationship with her. Tyra argued that she thought
she and Neil were ready to move in together and wondered what Devon has
against her. Devon replied that he's worried about someone getting hurt,
especially Ana. Tyra explained that she needed to have a life and never got
to date much when she was younger. Devon bluntly told her that Neil will
never love her the way he loved Dru. Tyra broke down in tears as he called
her a rebound. "Screw you, Devon!" she shouted.
Jill and Kay continued to argue about Cane, but it turned into a fight about
their relationship. "Why do you hate me so much?" Jill asked. Kay insisted
that she doesn't hate Jill, despite their animosity. Jill didn't believe her
and reamed her out for destroying Cane's life. Kay clutched her head in
pain, then passed out. Jill accused Kay of faking her illness. Neil arrived
and tended to her; Jill became alarmed as she realized that something was
indeed wrong with Kay.
Billy went to the estate and found Mac outside by the pool. He told her that
he's going to stop pushing for them to be together. "I can't change," he
said sadly. "Who am I kidding? The only thing that I can do is not drive
either one of us crazy anymore. So no more begging for a second chance,
because whenever I get one, I just screw it up anyway." They were
interrupted when Murphy called to Mac and asked her to get help for
Katherine. Mac joined her inside, where Kay struggled to say that her left
side felt numb. Billy went into Mac's backpack to get a blood pressure cuff.
Kay could lift one arm, but not the other. Jill blamed herself. Mac observed
that Kay's blood pressure was high and advised her grandmother to get
checked out. Neil and Billy led her out of the home and took her to the
hospital. There, Olivia examined her; Kay asked if she'd had a stroke, but
Liv said they needed to run more tests. Olivia advised her to stay
overnight, but Kay assured everyone that she was okay. Billy prayed for Kay
to recover. Kay blamed Jill for her condition, but Murphy encouraged his
wife not to write Jill off just yet. It was determined that Kay had suffered
a stroke due to hypertension. In the wake of Kay's health scare, an
emotional Billy and Mac declared their love for one another.
Tyra told Neil about her fight with Devon and asked if she and Ana could
move in with him. Neil replied that he's not ready for that yet and wants to
take things slow. Tyra was upset.
At the courthouse, Michael convinced the judge to grant Jana bail of
$100,000, but the judge warned her that she was still facing serious
charges. Daniel finally arrived and explained to Amber that he was trying to
get his hands of a piece of evidence. The judge stated that Daniel's bail
amount stood, as well as the charges against him. Amber tried to tell him
about the person from her past, but he was too distracted to listen. Later,
a man brought the evidence box into the courtroom and the lights briefly
went out. The box crashed and a figure left the courtroom.
Thursday
At the Chancellor Estate, Jill and Cane discussed Katherine. He noted that
if Jill truly hated Kay, it wouldn't matter to her whether they were related
or not. Jill argued that it's complicated. He asked if Jill will turn on him
if the DNA tests say that he's not her son. Jill assured Cane that he's
hers, no matter what. Still, she was sure that the results would come out in
his favor. Meanwhile, Lily apologized to Nina for lashing out at her. She
and Nina agreed to a truce, regardless of what the DNA test said. Nina then
got a call that the results were in.
While with Jack at the G.C.A.C., Mary Jane suddenly zoned out. She explained
that she was having a difficult day. Jack admitted that he couldn't get his
mind off of a comatose Summer. He didn't have time to talk, though, because
he was meeting with Sharon — to MJ's chagrin. After, Mary Jane thought back
to her time in Genoa City; how Victor first brought her to town, how Paul
suspected that he knew her, how Jack was surprised that she knew there was a
portrait of John in the Abbott study. She then pulled out an invitation from
Jack's wedding to ... Patty Williams! She wished Jack a happy anniversary.
At the hospital, Phyllis and Nick pleaded with Summer to open her eyes,
while Victor called in a specialist from another city. He was willing to fly
in a jet to get the doctor there as soon as possible. Nikki joined Phyllis
and Nick and urged her granddaughter to wake up so she could see the Fourth
of July fireworks. Phyllis blamed herself, stating that God was punishing
her for everything she's done in her life. Nick reminded her that it was
just an accident. After, Nick went to the chapel. Victor found him there;
Nick broke down about Summer and about Jack being the father of Sharon's
unborn child. Victor assured him that things would turn around and
encouraged him not to give up hope. Nick then became emotional in front of
Jack. Jack reminded him how strong Summer is.
Sharon tried to comfort Noah about Summer. She then told him that her baby
is Jack's and admitted that she doesn't know what's going to happen with her
and Nick. Noah was sympathetic. He joined Phyllis and Nick in Summer's room
and also tried to get his sister to open her eyes.
Paul met with Heather at Crimson Lights. She informed him that an "anonymous
source" (really MJ) believed that Summer's condition might not be an
accident. Paul found it hard to believe that Phyllis would purposely hurt
her child.
Murphy tended to Kay when she came home from the hospital. Nina then joined
them with the DNA test results. Cane and Jill were confident that the
results would prove he's her son. Lily found them at the coffeehouse and
told them the results are in. Jill was eager to get it over with. And the
results indeed stated that Cane is Jill's son. Cane requested that Jill be
nice to Kay today; given her good mood, Jill agreed. Cane planned to take
the Chancellor name. Alone, he called Langley and informed him that he took
care of the "problem." Nina, however, still wasn't convinced and suspected
that Cane got to the test somehow or got someone at the lab to switch it.
Nina was determined to find out what happened to Phillip III's body.
MJ continued to sit in a daze and stare at the invite. There was a knock at the door. She was certain that it was Jack coming to wish her a happy anniversary, but it was Paul. He
began to question her about Phyllis, but she shut the door in his face.
After, she frantically downed some pills and dissolved into tears, then
crawled into bed and snuggled with her kitty. "Make it stop," she pleaded.
Jack was eager to have a nursery built in the Abbott home, but Sharon told
him that she's not ready to move back in. Jack didn't take this too well.
"I've been pretty understanding with your ambivalence," he said. "Maybe you
could cut me a little slack on my enthusiasm. I missed out on being any part
of my own children's lives. I lived with that for a long time. I've just
been given another chance. I'm gonna be there for our daughter. Hey, I'm
pretty good with other people's kids. Maybe I could actually be a good dad
to my own." Sharon replied that she wanted to do it on her own, but assured
Jack that he'd be a part of their daughter's life.
Mary Jane flashed back to her life as a young Patty (when Kitty was still
alive). In the fantasy she was dressed in a creepy, puffy bridal gown with a
veil that covered her entire face. She recalled how she'd caught Jack having
sex in his office with another woman (only in the fantasy all of the events
took place outside in a garden) and miscarried their baby — and how she'd
shot him. In the dream, she begged for her brother Paul to come and help
her, then sank down on the ground and cried. Victor approached Patty in the
fantasy and told her that he can make her the kind of woman who Jack would
fall in love with. Sharon then appeared and taunted that Jack would never be
hers. MJ awakened and vowed that Jack was going to love her, no matter what.
At the hospital, Nikki asked Paul why Heather was hanging around. Paul
wondered if Nikki thought Phyllis could've hurt Summer on purpose. Nikki was
horrified at the idea and insisted that Phyllis wouldn't have done that.
Later, Heather had Detective Wallace take Phyllis into custody for child
endangerment. A stunned Phyllis cried and insisted that she didn't
purposely give her daughter peanuts. Nick and Victor planned to have
Michael handle the case.
Cane and Lily looked forward to celebrating his life as a Chancellor.
Meanwhile, Jill noted to Kay that in a way, the results made them family
after all. Kay furiously replied that Jill practically left her for dead the
day before and she didn't need family like that.... Nina went to Phillip's
grave and sadly feared that she's never going to get any answers about him.
Paul then arrived and told Nina that something was indeed wrong with Cane's
blood test.
Friday
At the hospital, Nikki spoke on the phone with a frantic Phyllis, who'd been
accused of purposefully feeding Summer the peanut cookies which put her in a
coma. Michael arrived to discuss the case with Nikki and Victor. Nikki
revealed that the guard blocking Summer's room wouldn't let them in with
their grandchild. Michael explained that the court would appoint a guardian
to Summer and that she could go into foster care. Victor implored Baldwin to
have the court name him and Nikki as guardians. After, Nikki begged the
guard to let her check in on Summer. He agreed to let her in for a minute,
but the doctor revealed that there was no change in Summer's condition.
Later, Michael informed them that the court agreed to let Nikki and Victor be her
guardians. They eagerly went to sit with a still-unconscious Summer. Victor
was ready to bring Summer home to the Newman Ranch, but Nikki thought it
would be too much for Ashley to have to deal with a little girl in the
house. Victor conceded that Summer would be better off at Nikki's. Nikki
promised to take very good care of her. "I know you will," Victor replied,
hugging his ex.
At Crimson Lights, Jana and Kevin cuddled and kissed. Daniel joined them; he
and Kevin were determined to find out who really killed Balfour. Agent
Aucker arrived with a warrant to search the coffeehouse; Amber then arrived
and reamed out Aucker for trashing her and Daniel's apartment. Aucker
revealed that Balfour's cell phone had been stolen from the evidence box.
Amber defended Daniel, but Aucker requested that he take a lie detector
test. Daniel agreed and passed with flying colors. After Aucker left, Kevin
presented them with a chocolate cake ... which had the phone (which he'd
stolen) stuck inside!
At the Chancellor Estate, Mackenzie revealed to a relieved Billy that
Katherine was okay. They almost kissed, but pulled apart when Chloe came
downstairs. He and Chloe discussed how he wasn't the father of Sharon's
baby. Out in the backyard, Kay and Murphy hosted a July 4th barbecue,
which Lily and Cane attended. Kay apologized to Cane for doubting that he's
Jill's son. He urged Jill and Kay to be nice to each other for the holiday
and told them how much he loves them. They were happy to be a part of his
"crazy" family. Kay was thrilled when Pearl arrived. Pearl explained why
Joe, Jr. wasn't with her. Mac, Esther, Billy and Chloe also came out back
for the barbecue and Jill was pleased to hear that her sons were finally
bonding. Neil then joined in the fun. Lily happily revealed that the DNA
test proved Cane is Nina's son. Cane raised a toast to his family.... Pearl
advised Jill to be nicer to Kay. Jill warned Pearl that Kay isn't the
"sweet, old lady" she appears to be. Pearl then warned Kay to watch out for
Jill, but Kay replied that she's used to her rival.... Murphy confided in
Billy that he's afraid of losing Kay, but Billy believed that she'd outlive
all of them. Billy then offered to purchase Murphy's trailer.... Lily and
Cane doted over Cordelia. Chloe stated that Cane was in the running with
Jack for best uncle.... Lily and Cane celebrated their first Fourth of July
as an "old, married couple." Lily feared that she's too happy and that
everything would be taken away from her.... Mac and Billy came up with
excuses to leave the party and met up in a room at the G.C.A.C. They kissed
and hoped that Kay and the rest of the family would be happy to learn that
they're together.
At Phillip III's gravesite, Paul revealed that the blood sample Cane had
tested contained blood which had been frozen. Nina was shocked and couldn't
understand how this happened. Paul concluded that the sample that was tested
wasn't the one Cane had given. She wondered if the blood had been frozen for
20 years and called Cane a body snatcher. Paul urged her to get all of the
facts before confronting Cane, but she wanted to get to the bottom of
everything immediately. Later, Nina stormed into the barbecue with Paul and
demanded to know where Cane got the blood sample. Jill and Lily quickly
defended him, but Paul verified Nina's claims. Nina realized that he'd
switched the samples when he knocked the vials over and asked where Phillip
was. Cane stammered that he didn't know what she was talking about, but then
gave in and confessed that he isn't the "real" Phillip III after all. Jill
and Lily were devastated. "This isn't true. It can't be," Jill said. "It's
true," Cane whispered. "I'm sorry." Everyone else was dead silent as he
confessed. "This can't be happening," Jill kept repeating. Nina was ready to
call the cops, but Cane insisted that he didn't participate in the con out
of menace. "I love you. I would never do anything to hurt you," he told
them. Lily furiously replied that she doesn't even know who he is. Neil
vowed that Cane would pay for deceiving them. "How can you do this?" Jill
cried. "How could you do this to the people who've shown you nothing but
kindness?" Kay echoed. Just then, an alive Phillip III walked into the
backyard, shocking everyone present. "He didn't do it," he explained. "I
did."
