YOUNG AND RESTLESS
Monday
Jack and Ashley met at The Athletic Club, where Ash was experiencing morning
sickness. Jack giggled over the story about Jill losing both her mother and
her inheritance in the new issue of Restless Style. He eagerly anticipated
Jill's response to the exposé. Jill approached the Abbotts, where Ashley
told Jill that Jabot did not require her services. She also mentioned that
she'd heard Jill went to Victor begging for a job. Jill informed Ash that
she didn't have her story straight. Jack and Ashley then chided Jill for not
supporting Billy in Delia's custody hearing. When Ash wasn't feeling well,
Jack escorted her out and gave Jill the magazine for some "light reading."
While waiting for her car, Ashley convulsed in pain and told Jack that she
needed to see her doctor.
In court, Neil interrupted the judge's decision to speak about Ana. Neil
expressed his love for the girl and how she changed his life for the better.
When he stated he wanted to be a father to Ana, Karen took his hand but
then, Neil shocked the courtroom when he said Ana was better off with Tyra.
Karen was horrified. "He didn't mean that," Karen blurted. The judge called
a recess to re-evaluate. "What have you done?" Karen cried to Neil. "I can't
even look at you!"
In the hall, Devon and Ana saw Cane. The kids filled him in on the hearing.
Lily emerged and asked Cane to speak in private. Cane was surprised to hear
about Neil's actions. Lily pointed out that Neil was doing what was best for
Ana. The judge returned and rendered full and permanent guardianship to
Tyra. An emotional Tyra wept and rushed to give Ana the news. Neil told
Devon what happened. When he returned to the courtroom, Neil saw Karen's
wedding ring on the table and sighed.
In the hall, Lily told Cane that while Neil did the right thing to do, she
felt bad for Karen. Lily was worried about how a custody battle would affect
Cordelia and told Cane that he, too, should do what's best for the baby.
At Crimson Lights, Billy and Chloe fretted about the custody hearing for
their daughter, as Mac watched from the patio. The parents cooed over their
daughter, but Billy couldn't help but catch Mac's glance.
Neil returned home to find Karen packing. Karen told Neil they were through.
"None of this was real," she shouted about their marriage, accusing him of
just going through the motions. She then said that Neil is not the good guy
he wants everyone to think he is. When Neil told Karen that he loved her,
she slapped him and started beating his chest, saying, "I hate you!" Just
then, Devon, Tyra and Ana entered and saw the exchange. Ana apologized to
Karen, who smiled that it wasn't her fault. Karen hugged the girl, picked
up her suitcase and walked out.
Billy and Chloe arrived at court, where Cane asked Chloe to speak to her
alone for a minute. Cane told Chloe he was dropping the suit. Stunned, she
hugged Cane and repeatedly thanked him. Chloe said that Delia has made her a
better person. "I believe you," Cane smiled.
After a visit to the doctor, Jack took Ashley back to the ranch to rest.
While Jack was snooping through some files, Adam entered the room.
The men exchanged barbs. Adam warned Jack that his arrogance would bring him
down. Jack retorted that Adam may be blind but he hadn't changed a bit.
Having overheard Jack's insults, Ashley told her brother it was time that he
left. Jack warned Ashley not to trust Adam. Afterward, Ash apologized to
Adam.
After reading the Restless Style article, a reporter from The National
Inquisitor asked Jill to comment. Jill said she had a lot to say about that
"fraud" named Katherine.
Tuesday
Neil sadly sat at home, thinking about how Karen had left him. Devon came by to invite Neil to join him, Tyra and Ana for a celebration of Ana being reunited with Tyra. Devon told Neil that while he can't forget that Neil cheated on Karen with Tyra, he also can't forget the fact that Neil did what was best for Ana in court.
Cane and Lily hung out in Cane's place. He revealed that he quit Chancellor Industries, while Lily shared that she wants to return to modeling and was offered a job at Restless Style. Cane confessed that he misses Cordelia, but looked forward to starting over again. Lily then hinted that she wanted to marry him after all; Cane got the ring out and proposed to her ... for the fourth time. Lily happily accepted. He wanted to go out for dinner and dancing, but she suggested they snuggle on the couch and watch a certain movie. But first, she wanted to tell her dad the news. Neil was happy for her, as long as she was certain that this is what she wants.... Meanwhile, Cane ran into Devon at Crimson Lights. Devon respected Cane for giving up custody of Delia and letting her be with her parents, Chloe and Billy.... Later, Neil sat alone at home thinking back to his wedding to Karen. He slowly removed his wedding band and placed it next to hers on the table.
At their place, Daniel and Amber tried to work on their artwork and designs, respectively, but all Amber could think about was Kevin and how he was doing. Daniel became angry, reminding Amber that Kevin could've hurt her and she still might do jail time. Amber didn't care. Daniel was fed up with her helping Katherine and then helping Kevin. Amber assured Daniel that he's still important to her, as well.... Meanwhile, Jana sat with Kevin in his padded cell in the mental hospital. She told Kevin how much she loves him, but he didn't respond; in his mind, he was still arguing with the menacing chipmunk. Jana flinched when he yelled at her to shut up (really yelling at the chipmunk). In his nightmare, Amber pounded on the window and told him to ignore the beast; in real life, Kevin called out for Amber. Later, Jana interrupted Daniel and Amber, just as they were about to get intimate, and asked if Amber could help her. The three went to see Kevin. In the hallway, Daniel admitted how upsetting it is for him to see Amber so preoccupied with Kevin; Jana confessed that it also hurt her to know that Amber could be the one to help him, but she was willing to do anything for her husband. In Kevin's cell, Amber sat with him. He continued to dream about the chipmunk. In the dream, Amber urged Kevin to ignore him, while in real life, Amber also spoke encouraging words. Kevin finally seemed to snap out of his stupor and recognized Amber.
Phyllis met with Lauren and Michael at Crimson Lights to discuss pressing charges against Sharon for stealing her monkey figurine, as well as items from Lauren's store. The Baldwins concluded that Phyllis's real problems with Sharon had to do with Sharon and Nick. Lauren advised Phyllis to take Sharon out of the equation and see what her problems with Nick really were. Phyllis informed Lauren that Nick cheated on her with Sharon — twice. Meantime, Nick paid Sharon a visit at her GCAC suite and urged her not to confess to the DA that she'd stolen all those items. Sharon pointed out, though, that she did steal the items; she feared that Noah hated her for letting Eden take the blame for the books she'd stolen. Later, Sharon went to see Lauren and Michael at the coffeehouse to apologize for taking the stuff from Fenmore's. Lauren became furious as she noted that Sharon could've ruined Eden's life by letting the teen get arrested. Sharon again tried to choke out an explanation, but Lauren wouldn't hear it and announced that she was pressing charges.... Phyllis ran into Nick at the GCAC. She begged him to come home so they could work on their marriage, but he refused.
Wednesday
Mackenzie, Katherine, Murphy and Nikki gathered at the diner for Marge's
memorial service. Amber soon arrived, explaining that Daniel couldn't make
it because he was meeting with a gallery owner. Kay asked how Kevin was;
Amber was confident that Kevin would come back to them soon. Kay introduced
Amber to Mac. Murphy and Kay discussed the memorial; Kay wanted Marge to get
her "happy ending." Later, Pearl, Murphy and Joe made speeches about their
late friend. "She wasn't sweet, she wasn't refined, she wasn't always
sober... but she was a fighter," said Pearl. Kay also spoke about Marge's
fighting spirit and how she was sorry that Marge didn't get the chance to go
to rehab. Kay tearfully thanked her look-alike for saving her life. "I'd
really like to tell you in person just how grateful I am... for your
friendship, your courage... all those memories you have left me," she said.
Michael paid Kevin a visit in the mental hospital and asked Kevin how he
liked seeing Amber. Kevin returned to his stupor. Michael urged his brother
to talk to him, promising to keep him safe. However, all Kevin saw was the
chipmunk in Michael's place. Kevin put his hands over his ears and began
screaming; Michael asked who he was speaking to and promised to fight
Kevin's illness with him. Kevin curled into an even tighter ball. A defeated
Michael left; Kevin suddenly came to and asked him not to go, but Michael
didn't hear him.
In her GCAC suite, Sharon left Noah a message, promising to make everything
right. She then thought back to Nick urging her not to go to the D.A. about
stealing the items. "It's not your call, Nick," Sharon said aloud.
Meanwhile, Nick met with a lawyer, who informed Nick
that Lauren was pressing charges.... Phyllis asked Heather if Sharon could
be prosecuted for taking the monkey figurine. Heather explained that the
figure wasn't worth enough for there to be a case. After, Phyllis called
Victor and told him that Sabrina's egg sculpture had been found ‹ and that
Sharon was the one who'd taken it. Victor replied that they couldn't be sure
what was going through Sharon's mind. Phyllis thought someone should press
charges.
At the Newman Ranch, Adam stumbled and crashed into a vase. Adam noted that
now Victor knew he wasn't the one who'd stolen the egg and wanted Victor to
admit he'd been wrong. Victor simply replied that he wasn't going to argue
with his son. Later, Heather stopped by the ranch, to Adam's surprise.
Heather wondered how he knew it was her and asked if he could see her. Adam
explained that he could smell her perfume and wondered why she was there.
Heather confessed that she still loves him. "I thought you were smarter than
that," he replied. She insisted that she didn't have any ulterior motives. Adam thought she deserved better than him and asked her to
leave. She refused. Heather wanted to plan his birthday, but Adam wasn't
eager to celebrate it.
At the mental hospital, Gloria and Jeffrey joined Michael. Michael was
determined to find out what Kevin's chipmunk represented. Jeff entered his
cell and implored Kevin to fight the chipmunk.
At the diner, Amber asked Kay if she could design her wedding gown. Kay
readily agreed and asked Amber and Mac to be her bridesmaids. Mac wasn't so
sure when Amber suggested they get dresses with a certain item on them....
Gloria arrived and asked Katherine if she could help Kevin.
Nick met with Michael at Crimson Lights and explained how messed up Sharon
has been. Michael felt badly for her, but noted that it didn't give her the
right to ruin someone else's life, namely Eden's. Baldwin wasn't sure that
he could believe that Sharon didn't recall taking the books and wanted to
stand up for his sister.
Victor paid Sharon a visit at the GCAC. Sharon apologized for stealing the
egg, but he told her to stop worrying about it. "It is you that I'm worried
about," he gently said. He sat down with her and asked her what was going on
in her life. Sharon broke down as she shared how she's out of control and
ruined Nick's marriage. This piqued Victor's interest and he asked if
Phyllis knew about Sharon and Nick. Sharon realized that Phyllis was the one
who told Victor about the egg. Still, Sharon understood why Phyllis was so
angry.... Phyllis concluded that Victor wasn't going to press charges and
she'd look like the bad guy once again. Later, Victor and Sharon encountered
Phyllis in the hotel lobby; Phyllis watched as Victor embraced Sharon and
bid her farewell. Phyllis then admitted to Sharon that she called Victor
because she didn't want Sharon crying on Nick's shoulder again. Sharon asked
why she didn't just press charges; Phyllis said she didn't feel like it.
Sharon pointed out that Nick gave Phyllis the monkey statue while Nick was
still married to her. Nick came upon them arguing and told Sharon that
Lauren's pressing charges. Sharon implored him to stop acting like her
husband. Later, Sharon met with her mom at the club.
Michael joined everyone at the diner. Paul revealed that Clint's autopsy
showed that he died of a heart attack, and not from Kevin shooting him.
Michael and Paul wanted to find Roger and Annie to get more information on
what Clint did to Kevin. Amber recalled Kevin saying the pair went to
Canada. Michael returned to the hospital and informed Kevin that Clint's
death wasn't his fault. "I'm a good boy," Kevin said. "Yeah," Michael
assured him. "You're a very good boy." "Can I get out now?" Kevin asked.
Victor was surprised when he came home and found Heather there. She asked
what he had planned for Adam's birthday, but he told her it was none of her
business.
Nick joined Phyllis at Restless Style and she stated that she's not pressing
charges against Sharon. Nick promised to join Phyllis at Summer's Earth Day
celebration at the preschool.... Sharon told Doris that she's sick of
leaning on others and needs to stand on her own.
At the diner, Pearl and Joe bid Murphy farewell. Murphy and Kay assured them
that they'd still be friends, and invited them to her home. "I inherited
those two from Marge and I'm not giving them up," she stated. "You guys were
my lifeline when I had no one, when I had nothing.... You are and always
will be my family. And I love you dearly." They all embraced.
Thursday
Chloe and Billy went to Crimson Lights after Cordelia's first check-up.
Chloe planned to take Delia to work. Billy was fine with it, but noted that
if Cane were still seeking custody, he'd pounce on the fact that Chloe and
Billy weren't spending the day together.
At Restless Style, Nick and Phyllis discussed putting together an
environmental issue. Phyllis argued that the readers might prefer reading
about a fairytale; Nick didn't want to give them false hope. Phyllis then
suggested they focus on things that make people happy ‹ like babies. Nick
thought that was too clichéd. Phyllis lamented that working together was
more difficult than it used to be.
Cane met with Katherine at the GCAC and told her that he's looking forward
to making a fresh start. Kay wished Jill could also be happy with her
decisions. Cane repeated an Australian saying, meaning that Kay and Jill were
more alike than they thought. After, Cane informed Jill that he dropped the
custody case. He urged Jill to make peace with Kay, but she refused. Cane
thought it was possible for her to be on good terms with Katherine, if she
wanted it.
Jack ran into Mary Jane at the GCAC bar. Sharon soon came downstairs and
Jack joined her. He told her that he's proud to be seen with her, even
though Sharon feared that everyone was judging her. She was upset when Cane
and Jill didn't say hello; Jack explained that they were angry with him for
being back at Jabot. Sharon told Jack that he's her best friend. They then
realized that it was his and Sharon's two-year wedding anniversary. MJ
watched them from the bar as they embraced. Later, after Sharon left, Jack
joined MJ. He was surprised by how angry MJ was over him hugging Sharon. MJ
explained that it wasn't good for his image, but Jack didn't care. MJ
apologized for snapping at him and explained that she misses her husband
back in New York.
Kay returned to the diner, where Joe thanked her for Marge's memorial
service. She sat down with Mackenzie and Nikki and asked Nikki to be her
matron of honor. Nikki asked why Jill wasn't filling that position, but Kay
didn't think she'd be interested. Kay wanted Murphy to be comfortable so she
wasn't planning to make the wedding too grand ... and revealed that she's
having Joe cater it for her.
Billy went for a drink at Jimmy's and flirted with the bartender ‹ who
wasn't impressed. Soon, Cane arrived and wondered why Billy wasn't home with
his family. Still, Cane thought he did the right thing in the custody trial.
After, Cane noted that Jimmy's reminded him of a place he used to work.
After Cane left, Billy warned Jimmy not to hire Cane.
At the magazine, Chloe questioned Phyllis about the next issue's theme.
Nikki then arrived and Nick admitted that he and Phyllis couldn't agree on
one. Nikki suggested they make it a wedding issue; Chloe loved the idea and
wanted to use her own photos ‹ including Kay and Jill's cake fight. Phyllis
and Nick weren't so sure it was a good idea, but Nikki insisted that it
would work, especially if they included all different types of weddings ...
like Kay's. Lily joined them and revealed that she and Cane were now
engaged. Nikki asked if they could use photos from it, especially if Lily
wants to get back into modeling; Lily agreed. Nick and Phyllis still weren't
entirely on board. Later, Phyllis admitted to Nick that she's confused about
where they stand. "Nothing changed. We're still exactly where we've been all
along," Nick said. Nikki overheard Nick mention that he was staying with
Victoria. He confessed that he and Phyllis were having problems.
Mac and Kay enjoyed some time together at the diner. Kay hoped Mac and Amber
would become good friends. She offered Mac a job with Chancellor, but Mac
turned her down. After, Kay discussed the wedding menu with Joe; he was
surprised by her choice of serving sliders and milkshakes. Later, Jill
joined Kay at the diner and informed her that Cane really wanted them to get
along. Jill was horrified when Kay informed her that she and Murphy were
planning their wedding; she accused Kay of ignoring the fact that Jill's
life was "in shreds" and called Murphy a loser. Kay was furious and defended
him. Jill angrily stormed out.
Cane called Chloe and suggested she pick up Billy. She arrived at the bar
and found Billy drunk. He reluctantly went home with Chloe... Cane returned
home and Lily told him that she's letting Restless Style shoot her wedding and that her modeling career has officially taken off. She gave him an
engagement gift: an adorable, fuzzy puppy whom they named Humphrey (after
Humphrey Bogart). Cane revealed that he purchased Jimmy's bar.... Mac looked
for employment at Jimmy's and was told to check in with Cane.
Sharon returned to her suite and went through the box of belongings that
Detective Wallace returned to her. She found the love letter she'd written
to Nick and crumpled it. However, rather than throwing it out, she opened it
up again and began reading it.... Meanwhile, things remained strained
between Nick and Phyllis. Nikki agreed to go to the tack house with him to
see Summer, but Phyllis wasn't sure she'd be there when they arrived. The
screen then split into four sections: Phyllis sitting with her head in her
hands at the office; Sharon reading the letter; Jack and MJ sharing a toast;
Nikki and an upset Nick leaving the magazine.
Friday
Jana and Lauren visited Kevin in the mental ward. Jana brought a container
of his favorite dish for him, but he didn't eat any of it. Jana was
convinced that he could hear them, even though he wasn't responding to them.
She wished she could figure out a way to reach him before it was too late.
Jana reminded Kevin how he was the one person who hadn't given up on her
when she was in trouble, and stated that she's not going to give up on him.
At the GCAC, Michael ran into Heather and informed her that Kevin wasn't the
one who killed Clint; Clint died from a heart attack. Heather was unmoved.
Michael became angry and demanded that Kevin be transferred to an open ward.
Heather smugly replied that Kevin was getting appropriate treatment. "What's
next, a bed and breakfast?" she asked. She reminded him that Kevin shot at
people with a weapon, but Michael noted that a weapon was never found. He
again urged Heather to help him get Kevin sent to a different facility, but
she wouldn't budge. Michael went to the mental ward and told Lauren and Jana
that Heather wouldn't listen to him. He then informed Kevin that Paul's
tracking down Annie and Roger. Kevin freaked out, but Michael explained that
he needed them to help get Kevin out. Just then, the orderly arrived
signaling the end of visiting hours. Jana tearfully exited. Kevin eyed the
orderly and envisioned him as the chipmunk. The orderly requested that an
agitated Kevin be put in a straitjacket.
Lily came home from work and found Cane's place a mess, courtesy of their
new puppy, Humphrey. After, Cane packed up Cordelia's things and sadly
called Chloe to come get the baby's stuff.
J.T. and Victoria ran into Colleen at Crimson Lights. Victoria asked if
Colleen got the notes for the next board meeting; Coll said she did and had
it covered. After Victoria stepped away, J.T. informed her that Victor was
planning a birthday party for Adam at the Newman Ranch, and invited her....
Lily met up with Colleen at the coffeehouse and informed her pal that she's
an "aunt." Colleen assumed Lily was pregnant and freaked; Lily then showed
her a photo of Humphrey. Colleen wondered if Lily was planning to actually
have a baby, but Lily didn't think it was the right time. Colleen suggested
she talk to Cane about it. Lily then asked if Colleen would be her maid of
honor for her wedding. Coll happily accepted. Lily suggested that Colleen go
on a dating site to find some love of her own. Just then, Rafe passed by
their table and Lily introduced him to Colleen. She not-so-subtly left Rafe
and Colleen alone so they could get to know each other. Rafe revealed to
Colleen that he's gay. Colleen was cool with that and suggested they head to
Jimmy's to check out guys together. Rafe was game and they became fast
friends.
Victor feared he wasn't taking care of Adam, but Ashley assured him that he
was. Adam noted that the ranch cook was making all of his favorites and
thanked them for the birthday meal. Ashley thought the dinner would be a
good bonding experience for them. Later, Victor was furious when Heather
arrived and Adam explained he'd invited her. Ashley stepped in as peace
maker and stated that they could all get along for one evening. Rafe soon
joined them with Colleen as his date. J.T. and Victoria also showed up.
"Anymore surprise guests?" Victor wondered, a frown on his face. After, Adam
opened his gifts, including a Braille laptop from Victor. Adam announced
that he was going to write his personal memoir. Victor wasn't pleased with
this idea, but Ashley thought it was good that Adam had a project to work
on.... Victor played nice and was cordial to Colleen, but when he got J.T.
alone, he reminded his son-in-law to find dirt on her.... As the dinner
ended, Heather offered to help Adam up to his room. He said he could manage,
but promised to call her. Before she left, Victor approached her and
reminded Heather that she's not welcome in his home. Heather refused to let
Adam down. Victor warned her not to come back.
Lily stuffed her dog in her purse and took him to visit Cane at Jimmy's.
Cane joked about how the dog is under age. Lily hinted that she doesn't want
to wait to have kids; Cane's face lit up. Later, they returned home and
began to work on having kids right away.... Colleen, Rafe and J.T. went to
the coffeehouse. J.T. questioned her about Rafe, but Coll said that they're
just friends. She admitted that it's been hard for her since her father
died. Victoria joined her husband after Colleen left and asked J.T. what was
going on with Colleen; he replied that people have been rough on her and he
thinks she deserves a break.
Jana, Lauren and Michael went to the coffeehouse. Lauren and Michael tried
to comfort Jana over Kevin's plight, but she was inconsolable. Michael
assured her that Kevin was still in there and there was still hope.
Meanwhile, Kevin was restrained in a straitjacket. He screamed and
writhed on the floor, wishing he could die. In the process, he banged his
head and ended up in a catatonic state. As he was rushed to the hospital, he
heard the chipmunk laughing at him, warning that Kevin was going to be
killed. The chipmunk urged him to jump out the back of the ambulance ...
which Kevin did.
Ashley took a walk outside and heard a baby crying.
